The sushi was absolutely terrible, we ordered 6 tuna sashimi, smoked salmon sashimi, 2 tuna rolls, 1 California roll, 1 orchid roll and we trashed 75% of it! What a huge waste of $50! ...Ive never not liked a Cali roll, and the tuna was so nasty tasting that even my husband couldnt eat it, and he always eats the tuna that I think tastes to fishy. So its pretty bad when he couldnt even stand it. It also didnt have a fresh smell to it either. ...I will say that their sauces are really good and their service was amazing! We didnt try any of the hibachi, just the sushi. Were shocked that this place has twenty 5 star reviews on google and over two hundred 4.5 star reviews on yelp. Were very confused. And were in the area celebrating our anniversary, what a let down. Oh well, live and learn.

What a great place. I have been waiting for some fresh sushi for so long. The seaweed is soft and delicate and every flavor is just perfect. I spoke to the owners once while waiting for a takeout order and they told me unlike the larger Japanese restaurants down 75th, they arent concerned with high turnover and rushing customers - they just want to give customers fresh food! That was nice to hear. I order quite often and my family and I are never disappointed. From the menu I have had the avocado maki, inari, cucumber maki, vegetarian caterpillar roll, tempura sweet potato maki, chicken hibachi dinner with teriyaki sauce, fried rice, hibachi noodles, and grilled veggies. All of it is to die for!

One of the best sushi restaurants in the SW suburbs. Im a sushi snob so I rate it 4 stars b/c it will take an awesome experience to be 5.0. We frequent this restaurant at least once every 10 days and usually order to go once a month as well. Most of the sushi places offer food a bit lower in quality (freshness, taste etc) and are a bit pricier. The atmosphere here is weak. If you want a fine dining experience this is not it. If you want to simply focus on good sushi at a high value vs price and dont care about a small lackluster seating area, this is it.

Chiba is definitely a smaller restaurant: if youre looking for a red carpet and a three ring circus, this isnt your place. if what youre looking for is quality food thats made-to-order, personable (and helpful) staff, and a really lovely meal, Chiba is worth a stop. Ive dined in and used the to-go option as well. Their menu is pretty typical, but everything is fresh and well made (and really fairly priced). Its my favorite sushi place in the NW suburbs. Five stars to Chiba. They have a good thing going and I, for one, will continue to enjoy it.

I wanted this place to be amazing but our food experience wasnt anywhere near that of the other reviews. The staff is very friendly and they showed great concern regarding food allergies. The maki rolls, however, were not good. The rice was soggy on all three rolls and the "crunch" on the crunch rolls was lightly sprinkled on top. Perhaps a personal preference, but there were no sesame seeds anywhere to be found. Overall, the rolls were very bland. Hopefully my experience was a one-off, but I wont be going back.

I love going here, especially for lunch! Both the sushi and hibachi lunch specials are awesome and an excellent price. They do use a lot of cucumber (cucumber salad, cucumber infused water, and obviously in the sushi too) so I always ask for no cucumber and the house salad with no cucumber. Yummy! Theyre fast which is a plus for lunch and if you explore outside their lunch menu, the sushi is actually somewhat unique and very tasty too! Ive been there well over 20 times and still cant wait to go back

My team and I were in town for business for a couple weeks and while we usually dont go back to places we definitely did here. We ordered for carry out and the associate who helped me knew I qualified for a coupon and told me he would apply it. I never asked for a discount and would have not known but working with a business as transparent as Chiba was a great experience. They have definitely earned my business as long as I continue to be a sushi eater. Thank you Chiba!

I randomly found this place by looking around on Google maps for a sushi place while here from out of town. I really enjoyed my sushi and my friend enjoyed her sashimi bowl. The place is tiny and it seems like lots of people order for takeout. Also many customers knew the workers by name, which is always a good sign! Another customer said that her and her friend come here every week without fail. I would definitely go back.

Chiba is our go-to sushi restaurant. We drive 25 minutes to get there, and pass many other sushi restaurants along the way. Many things keep us coming back - first the warm and welcoming staff, also the great, fresh food, and finally the price cant be beat! If youre looking for frills and thrills, this isnt the place. If youre looking for good food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices, this is your place!

Sushi is very good, priced very reasonable, and service is quick - looses star for ambiance. The place is a small, like < 20 can be seated. Reservations - maybe, but with so few tables, your gonna be easily bumped. And its not much to look at - just a strip mall joint. Thats the downside. Upside is the food, price, and quick service. Read what most say about Chiba - I found it accurate.

Chiba is dynamite. The food is amazing, the best hibachi I have ever had. The portions are ridiculously large, and the staff knows their stuff. They are also super nice and provide quick service. Chiba also has a great selection of sushi, which my friends have sworn is some of the best they have ever had. Definitely check this place out!

I love the rolls here, and the customer service is great! I placed an online order this afternoon, but it didnt go through. When I got there they explained it was because the lunch special I ordered isnt available on Sundays (which isnt mentioned on the mobile site). For my trouble, they gave me 20% off a new takeout order.

The sushi here is excellent, some of the best Ive had. Its a small place, so the service is always excellent, and if two or three rolls is enough for you, their lunch special pricing is fantastic. I would highly recommend it.

Online ordering, ready to go quickly and DELICIOUS! Got the tuna steak hibachi with vegetable fried rice, salad and more vegetables and a spicy crunchy tuna maki. Everything tasted great. Will definitely come back.

Awesome sushi. The best. Ive tried sushi from more places than I can remember in Chicago and in Downers Grove surrounding area and this is the BEST! Yum Yum Yum. Everything is super fresh and delicious.

Awesome! Loved it. Had the chicken hibachi chicken lunch. Under 10 bucks with tax. Two roll sushi lunch is only 7 dollars! 7 two person tables and seating for 4 at the sushi bar. I will be back for sure!!

Chiba is one of the best Sushi and Hibachi restaurants. Their chicken fried rice is the best Ive had. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. They serve a great dining experience all around.
