Oba was a delightful surprise! The atmosphere is very pleasant, the decor lovely--I felt comfortable but also as though I was in an upscale restaurant. The food arrived--delicious, done to perfection, and artistically presented. And the food kept arriving. Several different "samples" of things "on the house". I think the chef was bored as we were the only ones there as it was still a little early. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. After we finished, there was one more "on the house" surprise. A tiny scoop of a wonderful sorbet in a tiny little cup with a little spoon. Perfect ending! We highly recommend Oba and thank the chef and staff for a lovely experience!

Long, dim, and narrow with a big sushi bar. Plenty of privacy at the booths. I ordered th Chirashi Bowl and a Flaming Himachi roll. Generous slices of fresh fish. Good quality. Wish there was slightly more rice but it was good. Came with soup and salad. The Flaming Himachi was gorgeous. Came on a shell shaped white dish resting in a special soy sauce and covered with lemons and jalapeños. Great Choice!

After having such fresh fish while living in coastal cities, I couldnt find any place in the Chicago burbs that had good sashimi -- until this place. If you appreciate good sushi, youll love it here. Even if you dont, theyve got some killer looking rolls too. Brilliant food, intimate decor. Needs more parking.

Yuck! The sushi looks delicious, but it is deceiving. California rolls tasted like a mouth full of mayo, everything else I ordered had wasabi slipped in... and just look at that salad. Now Im sitting here with a stomach ache, wishing I had gone somewhere else for dinner.

Sushi is FRESH! Customer service is great! For first timer everything was perfect! We came in for dinner which included a salad with tofu soup which was a little salty for our taste but still good! Its plated really nice as you can see.

Like to come here and get sushi to go. Very authentic flair, always fast and polite, reasonable prices, and the sushi is great. On a side note, this seems like a nice intimate place that would score some points on a first date.

Best food and service!!! I just went here for a late lunch with my boyfriend and we can finally say we found our favorite little spot to go! Prices were great and quality of service and food was even better!

Wow. Sushi was really good and lots of free samplers and dessert ice cream. Really impressed by the price and the large sushi pieces. Very fresh too. Will come again for lunch

Great sushi! I was quite impressed, and I have eaten at many different restaurants in Chicago. This one seems to top most of the expensive sushi places in the Loop.
