After having our hair done at Mario Tricoci, my daughter and I were looking for a place to eat on Sheridan Road. Decided to check out this place as we are both a fan of Korean food. Also my daughter recognized it as a place that had been featured on Diners, Drive ins and Dives, one of her favorite food shows. There was outdoor seating, but it was too hot to do that. We were greeted by a sign that said "BYOB", so that was a win win for me. Wasnt expecting burgers and egg rolls on the menu, but was pleasantly surprised. There are a variety of burgers with a Korean twist, but we go the regular burgers with a fried egg and fries. Burger was tasty but slippery...everything kept sliding out of the bun :-) The eggs rolls were pretty good, although I would not called them Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls. There is cheese in them, but the Korean Beef they use overpowers it. That said, it is not a bad thing. I think the meat was bulkogi, which I love. Only bad thing about the egg rolls is that you are restricted to an order of two per person. I would have easily have bought a dozen of them to take home, You can only get the egg rolls on the weekend. I got a bi bim bop to go with a fried egg and bulkogi....held up very well after reheating. There are other items on the menu we would like to explore, so most likely we will be hitting this spot again, but only on the weekends so we can get those egg rolls.

Okay I first want to say I am writing this as an out of towner. I had duxelle burger, that was one of the best burgers I have ever had when they talk about umami they arent kidding. The fries were perfect crunchy and crispy on the outside and like mash potatoes on the inside. My brother got the bulkogi plate which was awesome tender and flavorful. The kimchi while not home made adds a great sour note to the food. Try the kimchi fries. The next day we both went got fire chicken which was nice and spicy. My brother got the katsu nice and crunchy with a great sauce. Finally get the egg rolls best I have ever had a great interpretation on a classic appetizer. TLDR if you like burgers get the duxelle if you want something new and spicy get the fire chicken. Split kimchi fries and get the egg roll of they have it.

I think their regular entrees are pretty good. Today was the 4th time Ive visited trying to get the Philly rolls. Sold out. This was the first time Ive left and went to another restaurant because the item I specifically walked to the restaurant for was unavailable. If every Sunday you sell out of these egg rolls by 12pm, and even after you sell out you have to post signs everywhere because the demand is so high, theres something you should do.....MAKE MORE!!!! Good god I will never understand the thought process behind business decisions such as these. Do you just not like to make money? Because youre basically not tapping into the biggest resource you have!!! Im going to try one last time next weekend, wish me luck people.....

This place is a hole in the wall with a spectacular rep. The Food Channel acclaimed restaurant didnt get its reputation for nothing. One of the "most unique burgers" in Chicago is located here, called "The Father" and it is enormous. BopNgrill has a very interesting hybridization of Korean style cooking and American burgers that ultimately combines to create a zesty gourmet burger joint that is one of a kind. The fries are well salted and the burgers have a unique charred bun that combines the smokiness of the bread with the JUICINESS of the burgers for an incredible crafted taste at a very low price. You think 5 Guys is good (which it is), just wait. If you live in Rogers Park it is a crime not to check this place out.

BopNGrill was featured on one of my favorite TV shows: Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network, so I knew I had to visit! Being a first time customer, I asked what was most popular and the nice lady at the register said that their Unami, Kimchi and LeBrassiere Burgers were their top sellers. These all sounded delicious (My boyfriend had the LeBrassiere burger and said it was most excellent), but I dont really eat red meat so I went with the BBQ Chicken BimBop salad plate. It was a lot of food, but absolutely delicious if you like spicy food like I do! Plus, this student and family friendly hangout is conveniently located on Sheridan Road, right near the Loyola Red Line El Stop.

Korean Fusion...GREAT Kimchee fries! Share them. I did suggest to cashier that they chop their kimchee into more bite sized pieces so one could get a little taste with each fry rather than a huge chunk at once. I had their beef bi bim bop. I have had better. Not a huge fan of lettuce with mine or the american ingredients (onions, corn, etc.) One could ask them to emit, but I didnt have my reading glasses on and didnt know what was included. My daughter ordered the chicken fingers. I forgot to ask her how she liked them. They are huge and one could easily share them. Son ordered a "safe" burger. Will go back again. Next time, I am going to try a fun burger.

I mean this when I say it: This is my favorite burger of all time. "The Father," to be precise. This burger is so good that each time I come back I work myself into a nervous sweat, convincing myself that it couldnt be as good as I remember, and then the burger arrives, and I take the first, glorious bite, and Im transported to another dimension of mind-blowing burger euphoria. It has to do with the quality of the meat, how messy the whole thing is to eat, how it comes out stacked high like a skyscraper, and how it comes out almost hot enough to burn you. Theres something to be said about made-to-order. This place is the tops.

I was really disappointed, I sat at the bar and the waitress was not to friendly. I asked what was the speciality and she said "burgers", I was like okay, well what kind? Anyway, I just ordered the goat cheese and pear burger. She took a while to come back around and check on me. The burger I ordered was medium well, it was just okay. What kinda ticked me off was that fact that there were only 3 people at the bar so it wasnt crazy busy. Truthfully the customer service was just not there. She didnt even ask if I liked the food since I hardly ate it. I left really disheartened.
