Very convenient location in the Loop for a quick burger and fries! The location is gorgeous, as its nested right in the beauty of the Chicago Athletic Association hotel building. The decor for the Shack is a lofty-retro feel and its really cute! I ordered a ShackBurger single with a side of fries and a black and white shake. Burger was a medium-cooked patty, lettuce, tomato, "Shack sauce," on a bun. Wish the bun wasnt so average, as the contents were nice. Fries were done well, crispy and yummy! The black and white shake was okay, not worth being over five bucks though. Sad because the chain is named "Shake Shack" and probably wouldnt be in my top five spots around town to pick up a shake. Next time Ill probably try that ShackMeister Ale though, as it seemed the table next to mine had people who were really enjoying it. Service was what you would expect from such a chain where prices are a tad higher, but the place was packed and they probably felt rushed to make sure people got in and out efficiently. There are numerous burger joints in Chicago which offer much better burgers, fries, and/or shakes, but the super convenient location and food quality is enough to make me return from time to time!

Its a Shack Shack. If you like em, youll like this one. But even better, its located in the renovated historical Chicago Athletic Club building. The lobby is gorgeous and you owe it to yourself to check out the lobby and the second floor after youve gorged yourself on a tasty burger, fries and shake. They even serve alcohol here which is an added bonus. As for the food, its exactly what youd expect. I like the burgers, especially the chicken sandwiches. And the waffle fries always hit the spot. But whats most appealing about this location is the building its in. If you get the chance, check out the patio from Cindys. The view of Millennium Park is the best one in the city!

First and foremost ... Burgers are ok for my taste. Definitely greasy goodness, but in my opinion not their strong seller. Fries. Must get fries. Fries with cheese sauce on them. FRIES!!!!! Crisp outside soft inside and a not heavy cheese sauce. Delicious! Shakes are good. We had 2 shack burgers and a smokeshack burger plus cheese fries and both a strawberry and a peanut butter shake. All good, but the last 3 moved it for 3 to 4 stars for a fast food joint. Area was clean and service was good without any issue and 3 special requests (sauce on side and a extra wrapper). Went at 11:15 on a Sumday and place had a small rush but we were able to sit inside.

Between social media and the prices I had high expectations for this place sad to say it was a complete fail. First off no combos and fries are 2.99 added on to and already expensive 6 dollar burger and that is just a basic burger no bacon an 1 patty the people at the register could of been a lil more welcoming too. This location was a tad on the dirty side did I mention u have add your own ketchup mustard and mayo? And the complimentary water was hot not warm but hot. The pictures make it seem like youre Getting a lot but really u are not. The angus burgers at McDonalds are better by far than here save money and disappointment and go there

Loved this place! The sandwiches are really great, especially the chicken sandwich. I enjoyed the fries, tremendously! The custard was really good, but I didnt enjoy the mixes in their concretes. So, I had to exchange it a couple of times to get it right. The staff and managers were amazingly accommodating. We found seating to be a bit tight, though we didnt have to wait for a space. We did have to keep an open eye for the first seat while ordering. Though, most times, you can find seats easily. Great location right on Michigan Avenue!

Shake Shack food tastes amazing! I was slightly disappointed with the lady taking our order, who had no sense of humor. Customer service goes a long way, and having your best people representing the front is important because it is impossible to disassociate the product from the service. All in all a good burger joint, and one I would highly recommend trying if you are in the Chicago area. My mother taught me to always try to eat local when Im out; always try to "eat what the locals eat", not something I can just get anywhere.

My new favorite burger place! I love the burger patties, tender and moist! And we just have to keep coming back for more! Highly recommended is the "Shack Stack burger". It has portobello mushroom with gooey goodness cheese inside and a burger patty! When you bite into it, the portobello mushroom has a nice crunch and the melted cheese comes oozing out! Oh this is so good! Another one we love is the "Smoke Shack burger" Cheeseburger topped with all-natural applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper!

Burgers and sandwiches are meh but the crinkle fries are great! Hot and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and salted right. Worth every penny, and more than enough in that tray despite what you think. AND their shakes are delicious and on point! Their chocolate is thick and bittersweet with great depth, and some of their specialty flavors are good -- like the red velvet cake, OMG it is the best thing on the planet! So 5-STARS for fries and shakes, 2-stars for everything else.

The burgers and the beer are very good. If someone tells you that the burgers here are bad, theyre a liar or they have ulterior motives. That said, the burgers also arent "mind blowingly amazing" like the hype plays it to be. Ive honestly had tastier, or better portioned (theyre tiny here), or better priced, or any combination of the above. Definitely worth coming to again and again when in the area, but not worth waiting in line or making a special trip to eat it.

Hamburguesas de buena carne y buen precio (9$ la especial doble con bacon y queso) enfrente del Millenium. Wi-Fi gratis y servicio muy rápido (te dan un pager cuando tu pedido está listo, que es en unos 10 desde que pides)

20 bucks for a cheeseburger, fries, and shake. There are places in Chicago that can and do charge at this level for gourmet burgers in a sit down dining environment, but Shake Shack shouldnt. So so burger, thawed shake (they must have teed up a bunch of shakes for the lunch rush and let them sit), and okay fries. Overrated. Wait until this outfit gets out to the West Coast and goes up against In-N-Out. Royal smack down with cheese!

Located on the ground floor of what I assume is a hotel, it seems hard to find at first. Line moves quickly for downtown Chicago on a Friday afternoon. The 15+ people in line now will have their orders in within 4 minutes and food within 10 of when they walk in. Ingredients are fresher and smaller than other burger places. More expensive as well, but you get what you pay for. This is the only place Ill pay $7 for a burger this small.
