Here is an email that I sent the Palm a month and a half ago and havent heard back: The experience that I had at the Palm was not a bad one, but considering the money I spent, it did not meet my expectations. I had been to the exact same Palm and gotten the same food two years prior, so this is why I returned and what I am comparing the food to. I ordered the lobster bisque first, it was fine, but normally this is my favorite soup and it was quite mediocre. Normally, I am desperate for more bisque once finished, but this did not have me craving more. For my entree, I got the surf n turf with half a lobster and the 9 oz filet mignon. The lobster was tasty and pretty much met my expectations, however, the filet was lacking much flavor and despite asking for medium, it seemed to be overly charred on the outside. In order to make it more flavorful, I dipped it in the drawn butter and added some salt. It tasted good at that point, but not worth the $50. My boyfriend and I shared the au gratin potatoes and I found them to be pretty bland and didnt take more than a few bites. I actually enjoyed the au gratin potatoes from Portillos that I had more than the ones from your restaurant. My boyfriend and I each ordered a cocktail, which neither of us drank much of. They were really strong drinks and not nearly as sweet or pleasant as expected. We ended up leaving our mostly full drinks on the table- and if you knew us, that would mean a lot to you as we never leave half eaten food or drinks. This may sound like Im trying to find issues with the food and drinks, but if you read my review of other places on google or ate with me, you would find that I am not incredibly hard to please. My boyfriend and I chose your restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and to have a nice night out and were disappointed to have the night fall short of our expectations. The staff at the restaurant was great and very attentive, but the food was not worth the money we spent. I would love to give the Palm another chance, but last nights dinner did not inspire me to rush back.

Overall, me and my girlfriend had a great evening out for Valentines Day. Like some of the other reviews say, it was a bit noisy, and some people had a noisy baby at an adjacent table. It WAS an earlier dinner (5:30) and by the time we wrapped up our meal it was starting to quiet down and the lights were dimmed. Regardless, not very romantic. That being said, the food and service were both amazing. The filet my girlfriend ordered was quite possibly the best steak either of us had ever tried. My blackened salmon was also top notch. Desserts we had were cheesecake and 7-layer chocolate cake, which were exceptional. Tone our waiter was very personable and on top of his game. All of the staff were extremely warm and friendly. If you are looking for a place with great food and wonderful service, this is your spot. If you place high value on ambiance and serenity, this might not be the place for you. We will definitely be back next time we visit Chicago.

Some of our food was actually cold (the potatoes au gratin and the veal) but we persevered. It was a LONG day of traveling and we were starving. Then there was a hair in my salad and they didnt even take it from the table. They finally removed the salad from our bill, but I had to ask not once but twice! Also, for the prices, I was pretty disappointed. I had expected flavor, but it was surprisingly bland. Ive never actually posted a review before of any restaurant, but this poor experience moved me to do so. Please save your money and visit Taco Bell. Theyll at least comp your meal if you find a hair in it.

Wish I could give 2.5 stars. Came here for a business lunch and the only positive of this place was the extremely friendly staff. The interior is extremely out-dated - not sure if this is intentional. I ordered the special: Mahi Mahi and Broccolini with the butter caper sauce on the side. The fish was extremely dry -- not sure if its because I had the sauce on the side, but regardless, wasnt very tasty. However, the broccolini was great. Location is convenient for work purposes, but there are plenty of other great lunch options in the area.

This hidden spot, is amazing. Although this is a chain restaurant, they really make it their own local spot. The walls are decorated with cartoon versions of the individuals who have eaten there famous and infamous. The bar is a local gathering for many of the offices located on the street. You cant go wrong with anything on their menu, but the steak is my go to selection. They also have a good patio in the summer time.

While Ive been to many Palm resteraunts, this was my favorite experience. We called ahead to make sure a 5lb lobster would be available. Upon arrival, our waiter informed us that they did not have a 5 pounder for us. I was quite disappointed. He then surprised us and said that they only had a 6 pounder and that brightened the mood! One of the best meals Ive eaten.

Had a wonderful evening at Bavettes. The service was outstanding and despite our showing up early we were accommodated with grace. The food was very tasty and prepared to our liking. Nothing super special, but a solid performance. You will not leave this place disappointed. Its all you want and expect.

this is a very original restaurant. The area for dining is located in a car of a train. The ambiance is unique and very unuasual for a restaurant. the bar side of the. I could recommend this restaurant for dating of just with close friends. The food is very good.

Stayed October 2010 for our honeymoon. Reserved a king bed online, but when we got there only doubles were left. Service wasnt exceptional. High price but not much to stand behind it. Great location for walking around downtown.

Brindelle serves up a great dining experience. The food was fantastic, service was informal and fully attentive to the patrons, the ambiance was special - a small, European feeling restaurant. We will be returning customers!

after hearing this restaurant talked-up for years, i was somewhat disappointed. the atmosphere had all the trappings of a chain restaurant, not wonderful private rooms, and the food was good but run of the mill.

on any given day, you may eat the best steak of your life. if it werent for such consistenly solid beef, youd wonder why you might return to part with so much of your hard-earned money.

Higly overpriced. Not really foreigners friendly : the waitress didnt make any efforts, she just wanted us to order what SHE wanted. Really annoying. The burger is not worth 20 $ !!!
