We often pick up food from here when on the go but not anymore. Friday night, we called in for pick. I parked the car leaving family inside. Food was not ready when we were told to come in 15 minutes and we arrived well over 20. Those who knows that area can feel the pain for not finding the parking on the weekends, no issue. I went inside, introduced my self and asked for food. The gentlemen at the counter (short beard with few sliver chains around his neck) was totally ruthless and un welcoming. He gave me a receipt of total (round number of $26), I, curiously, looking at the menu and calculated the food and to me it looked little overpriced. I asked him to please give me the break down how did you come up with this number. (its not about $26, rather its about principal to understand your bill). He looked at me as if he is going to engulf me then said (regional language which I did not understand) something to a waiter who was standing by, they both started laughing. I knew he passed some comments about me for probably being stingy or something, I did not budge as my family was sitting in the car and I was in hurry. When he gave me the breakdown of the food, he explained me that total $26 is including tax and round figure which means that I was over charged few nickels and dimes. No big deal but since when they decided that this is practice is acceptable ? Finally he handed me that bag of food, with grim face, no thank you no courtesy, I took the food bag and came home. When we opened the bag, all the sauces we requested were missing. What a way to run the business !!!

At one time Italian Express was awsome... but over the course of 2 years i have been going there i have seen the standards of both food and service drop... At first the food was amazing, now somtimes i get cold meat, untenderized meat, and stale food... Last time i got the Spicy Gyros Pizza, the meat had no taste and it was cold, im guessing they stuck someones elses order that they didnt pickup back into the oven to serve it to me and save the cold and stale pizza... since then i havent been back there.. and the waiters... at first they were nice, now they dont even ask you if u need a pair of knife and forks, instead you have to wait 30 mins or ask them to bring you the check or they will ignore you till you ask for help... take your business elsewehre they obviously dont care about there costumers

Visited, with family, First time on June 17, ordered food, in the middle of dinner at 10.30PM, my wife noticed a Cockroach taking a walk on table next her plate, she freaked out, stood and moved away from table, called waiter, and roach re-appeared on table second time, he caught it with a napkin. We lost our appetite, went to check out and owner tried to add extra $16 dollars and claimed by saying that "we dont own that roach, it might have come from neighbors next-door or upstairs"; and I added "My kids might have brought in their pocket", promptly she shake head said "no no no", "We have enemies in the hood they send them". It was first time in my life to go at Italian Express, hope it will not be lost.

The staff is very accommodating even if you have a few quirky requests. That is not something other restaurants in Devon Ave will do and I greatly appreciated it. Customer service was quick and efficient. They always answer their phones for takeout and food is ready relatively quick. Restaurant itself is very clean and ordering is simple. Recommend: Gyros pizza (its why the place even exists, they probably pay rent with its proceeds, its delicious, the pizzas are bugger than youd think and they dont skimp on the gyros); Chicken Chargar (try it extra crispy and extra spicy!)

CHICKEN TIKKA PIZZA.....is all you need to whisk you away into eternal bliss. Who knew Indian and Italian flavors would mesh so well? The odd combination of chicken tikka and pizza is just so right...the grilled smoky flavor of the chicken combined with marinara sauce and cheese will make you think "Damn, this is SO good" with every bite. Ask for it to be spicy, and more jalapenos will be added to achieve a pie of perfection. Ive had the gyros pizza before and it is good, but doesnt come close to the excitement of the chicken tikka pizza.

Love this spot for a quick bite or a late night meal in Oak Lawn. The pizza is consistently good as are the salads and pastas. The pizza is NY style and they also sell it by the slice and add any toppings that you would like. The staff is incredibly kind and patient considering the drunk crowd they often encounter. I have stopped in for coffee as well, and they make a good Italian espresso. Definitely recommend for the price, convenience, and overall quality.

Yak yak yak horrible horrible pizza its was a joke not pizza uncooked chicken worst pizza dough i have ever put in my mouth this place should be shutdown. And top of it thay are charging high price for stored frozen and microwaved food. Please save your money by not going to this place, Its a honest reviews i was too upset after the visit. I would love to give negative 5 starts but cant help it have to give one star else my review will not be posted.

They delivered the wrong pizza and then acted as if we were wrong about the order from the beginning until I said I could provide a picture of my original order. That coupled with delivery guy who doesnt know how to find a simple address with cold food made for horrible customer service. Dont order from here. Theres plenty of better professional places to order from.

I dunno why some haters are trippin in here. Italian Express has the best food and the best service you could ask for. The waiters are so friendly and its so not over priced compared to all other halal restaurants on devon. Dont waste your time and money elsewhere, go to Italian Express. Make sure to order Wings and Spicy Gyros Pizza ;)

SPICY GYRO PIZZA!!! If you guys like pizza and gyros then this will blow your mind. I believe this to be one of their staples. Take a few of these to any party and they are the first to finish everytime. Many other great things on their menu, but i just order spicy gyros sandwich or the pizza. Mmhmmm enjoy!

Worst experience. Do not go there plz. Their food was so much bad that it make my stomach sick. Wastage my money and time. Avoid this place. While I was having dinner with my family. The guy started cleaning the restaurant with some kind of floor bleach. Worst food I have ever had so far.

I will never come to this resturant everytime we order food for carrryout they messup the food orders they were not busy at alI.It smells like old rags. I am suprise that the city did not shut this place down. I will never come back to this place .

The chicken wings are so so, but everything is over-priced. The only reason to eat here is because its the only place that serves burgers, fries, pizza, wings within several blocks. If you have easy transport I recommend going elsewhere.
