Deep dish pizza by the slice!! Yes thats right - no more waiting an hour for a table and then an additional 45 minutes for your pizza to come to you. My boyfriend and I went here and got 2 slices of the Arts Meaty Delight deep dish ($3.95 each) and a piece of french bread ($1.75). Since it was a Tuesday, their special was a meatball sub for only $3.99!! I was so excited because I love a good meatball sub. I asked the cashier what I should get, a meatball sub or a slice of deep dish. He replied in his naturally monotone voice "well, were known for our pizza so..." haha I love it. So honest. All in all, the pizza wasnt piping hot - or even hot. It was just warm.. I would have loved to take it home and pop that sucker in my toaster oven (that I just bought from FB marketplace for only $10! Im sorry, Im so excited, what a steal that was) to make it more hot and have a crispier crust. For only $3.95, the quality of meat and sauce was definitely there though. Only complaint was that it wasnt hot but just barely warm. The garlic bread consisted of butter and garlic powder. Not too much of a fan since I prefer real garlic but the boyfriend had no complaints. Would definitely come back here for a slice to-go! So inexpensive!

Worst experience ever, horrible customer service. Ordered from this place for first time ever and after 2 hours of waiting for delivery guy, i called back to cancel order. First called after an hour and a half and they said "hes on his way but traffic from game was holding him up." Then after another 30 min called them to cancel, first spoke to edmundo and never once got an apology, just excuses. I asked who the manager was and he said "Mario", then he got on and gave me the same excuses that all the streets were closed and driver couldnt get here even though the building is on Lake Shore. Yes they do block off Addison but he easily could have back tracked to any number of other streets that werent blocked. Told them i didnt want a cold pizza thats been sitting around in the car for an hour, and i just wanted a refund. Again no apologies from Mario either until the end of the call. In fact never even got a courtesy call after an hour and a half, just to say "hey our driver is having some traffic issues but he is on his way. Driver only called us AFTER we called them to see what was going on. Will never order from this place again and would never recommend to anyone no matter what their pizza taste like.

First things first, pizza by the slice, a concept that has existed since soon after the pizza itself was invented but for some reason not implemented into the deep dish game for years. Art of Pizza does this and it is (as of 11/3/2016) $4.35 for a slice of deep dish, regardless of toppings! They usually have about 5-6 different types of deep dish (which they call stuffed and there is a minor difference but we wont get into that now) as well as all their thin slice stuff. The slice itself is a work of art, probably why they went with the name. The ingredients are quality and its tasty from top to bottom. A good sign for deep dish is if you dont mind eating the crust, its a lot of carbs but its tasty and not dry. I plan on returning here for many years to come, its even the official pizza of my fantasy football leagues draft party. Pro Tip: Red Hot Ranch is only 5 buildings north of here and sometimes I do what I call a "Chicago Special" where I get a hot dog from there and a slice of deep dish from here. RHR has a good dog, it isnt a true Chicago style but its damn close.

Ill eat pretty much any kind of pizza, but in my heart Ive always been a thin crust man. As a lifelong Chicagoan, Ive felt pressure to wave the flag for deep dish, but Ill always choose thin crust as long as the pie in question lives up to my exact specifications. I like thin crust that pretends to be deep dish, and thats where Art of Pizza nails it. The thin crust is still rich a doughy, loaded with fresh chunky toppings, and piled on with gooey cheese. If youre watching your weight I recommend extra sauce easy on the cheese, but if you just want amazing comfort food order it straight up. This is not to diminish the quality of Art of Pizzas deep dish and pan pizzas, both of which can hold up one on one against any other pizza in Chicago. But get the thin crust, share it with friends, and become a legend.

I came to this restaurant expecting quality pizza and excellent service and I was really disappointed. My friends and I waited 2 hrs at our table for food that never even showed up. After 45 minutes when the waiter brought us some salads that we didnt order, it was pretty evident they had lost/forgotten our order, but instead of just asking us to repeat it they ignored our table completely and we sat there for what felt like a lifetime while they brought out every other persons food. The waiters and cooks came out multiple times to smoke, which is alright by me, except for the fact they did it right above our table. Im sure that their pizza is pretty good but I just wouldnt know bc I never got any.

Pizza is fine, I mean it was "just fine" - ive had it before and its pretty whatever pizza...but the score is so low because I am really disappointed in the service. The only time Ive had it delivered I was told it would arrive within the hour. When I called after an hour and a half of waiting for the pizza to arrive, I was met with snarkiness, despite being very polite and hungry (a super rare combination) and not offered any sort of compensation for the trouble. Pretty sh*tty customer service. Pizza was a total of 40 minutes past quoted delivery time. Will not order for delivery again, and probably not eat here since theres so many other awesome pizza places in Chicago.

The first time I went here years ago I didnt like it, but it could have been due to the company I ate with. Just went back because my boyfriend loves this place and it really is pretty good. Had 2 slices of the specialty pizza (thin crust sausage, mushroom, onion, green pepper) and was pleasantly surprised. I will admit I dont love their crust and I tasted my boyfriends stuffed sausage and thought it was a little salty (but then again a lot of restaurant food tastes salty to me) and I thought my pizza could have used more sauce. I would actually go back and get the same thing but maybe ask for extra sauce on the side.

This is one of the better (if not best) deep dish pizza places in Chicago. Its a small mom and pop operation in West Lakeview and the butter crust is awesome. In the interest of full disclosure, I only eat stuffed pizza about two to three times a year, simply because its just wayyyy too filling. My last order consisted of a garden salad and a 12" stuffed pie with pepperoni and black olives. Outstanding. And, its easy to freeze for later meals. You get free liters of Pepsi products with a minimum order (but you have to ask). Expect about 60-75 minutes for delivery. Hey, it takes a while for these things to bake!
