Its pretty great for an old school diner. And by old school, I mean at least fifty years old. I dont think anythings been updated since it was built -- but thats ok. The place looks like a Chinese restaurant on the outside but inside its pure classic diner with all the breakfast offerings youd expect and a whole lot more. They have lunch as well and I opted for an open face turkey entree with mashed potatoes. Was it the best I had? No. But for under $10, the price was right. And the ambiance and charm cant be beat. With red vinyl booths, tacky counter memorabilia and a decently friendly staff. The place was hopping on a Sunday morning but we didnt have to wait. And the crowd is a fun mix of old-timers, young families and hipster millennials. Its not going to be the best brunch you ever get. But if youre craving an old school diner experience, this place wont disappoint.

THE BEST PLACE FOR BREAKFAST!!!! Cheap and wonderfully delicious food, a friendly and efficient staff, and a great venue. You cant not love the bright red feaux leather upholstery. They have a variety of typical American diner breakfast and lunch dishes, as well as some more hispanic style burritos, chimichangas, and more. It is a great place to do breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dessert-they have pie and milkshakes!! Cost is very low and you will never be dissapointed. Great place to go when you are hungover also =)

Hidden in plain sight is how I would describe Golden House. I am so glad that I discovered this place hidden behind the Riviera Theatre in Uptown. The vintage feel of Golden House is unparalleled, as it isnt trying to be kitschy. The menu is so cheap that you would think it hasnt changed since the booths were put in. Service is quick and attentive, and the food is simple and tasty. The coffee isnt great, but its not awful either.

Not sure how this place got this many stars I had to eat my breakfast with a spoon . I supose they where out of forks . I had what I thought was a homeless guy follow me into the place after heckling me outside . Just to find out he was a regular the price wasnt that good . And the food was just ok . So clearly. The 5 stars came from employees or people that just dont get out much

My wife and I started coming here about 3 or 4 years ago and just love the place. Its not your place if you are looking for a fancy brunch, but if you want standard breakfast fare (bacon&eggs, pancakes, french toast, etc) at more than a reasonable price, this is the place. Come here often and you will start to recognize a lot of regulars, including many local politicians.

I dont think theyve changed since the 80s. Very affordable! The best retro diner experience youll have in this neighborhood. Support your local businesses!!

This is such a nice place, old school dinner. We had pancakes with chocolate chips, ham, French toast, sausage, bacon, eggs and 2 cups of coffee (with refills) and we spend like $18 (without tip). They have something for everyone, totally recommended. We will probably go back. One thing... This place is CASH ONLY!.

Very basic diner providing classic American diner food. The cooks are fast, and the coffee is hot. They tend to be light with their seasoning, so it is a great option for those with a sensitive palate. It can get busy weekend mornings, so be prepared to wait for a table at prime breakfast time.
