Azul 18 is a cozy restaurant located in the Pilsen neighborhood. The staff was absolutely charming, with prompt and attentive service. But, as lovely as the staff and ambiance were, Im a Chicagoan, and the food these was NOT worth the price paid. It seems that Azul 18 is a former Mexican restaurant trying to cater to the Hipster/Millennial groups moving in. The food looked amazing but the flavor wasnt there, I could tell that they werent used to the type of meal they were preparing. I dont think ill of them, but theyre going to need some time, and more SEASONED chefs, if theyre going to find their groove.

A friend invited two of us for dinner and I reluctantly attended. WOW! What a food experience. We shared more than five dishes, and each impressed more than the next. The tortilla soup was tasty and full of flavor, the quesadilla had a kick and some life, the fish tacos made me reconsider the average fare of Tilapia because they were so tasty, and the service was professional. Plate sizes were above average so I didnt feel like I was getting taken at a snooty place. I am definitely going to tell friends about this secret gem in Plisen, and there was free parking directly outside the door!

Maybe close to 4 stars not yet food was good s little skimpy for the price. Toast was not toasted tortillas were cold they have great sounding juice blends but the one I ordered was not served although my delicious coffee was comped! They have some Mexican food but no flour tortillas and do not cover the tortillas to keep them warm.

Azul18 is the perfect spot for brunch in Pilsen. My partner and I went (with a Groupon) and were so pleased with the menu, service, art, and especially the FOOD. The server was happy to accommodate my substitution request (and even considered adding my salad with turkey chorizo and chimichurri dressing to the menu). Loved everything.

We ate here last night before a concert at Thalia Hall. We ordered crap cakes, their house stuffed chicken breast, flank steak, mussels and tortilla soup. Everything was fantastic. The service was excellent. Its BYOB and the waiter brought an ice bucket for our beer. Well be back soon. Thanks for a great meal Azul 18. MK

I called an order in and when I got there, they said they didnt have my food and they gave it to someone else. All I received was confusion, a guilty apology, and "youre going to have to wait for it." I will let everyone I know to never provide business here. Very disappointed and let down.

The best thing in this place is the water. Honestly. My sisters "Chocolate Crepes" tasted like burnt chocolate. Not even chocolate for that matter. And my Red Velvet pancakes were very doughy they did not taste good. And my mothers chilaquiles were "terrible".

Paid almost $10.00 for 2 slices of bread (French toast) only for it to be soggy and tasteless. They literally put no flavor or care of any kind into this simple breakfast but accepted my cash with no problem. Will never come again. Thumbs down.

Great service with a smile. Bottomless Intelligentsia coffee is worth the trip alone. House Pancakes, carmel caramelized banana pancakes to be specific, are some of best I have ever had. Great juices and hash too!
