Great Food - Poor Service - Deceitful Waiter Went to a team dinner with my work colleagues, a group of 7 of us. Reservation was easy for a Tuesday night, and they were flexible when we had to push it a little bit. Highlights - Great food, especially the crostinis (octopus, burrata), seasonal pea risotto, and Chilean sea bass - Ambiance was trendy and exciting with very comfortable seating on the benches Issues - Service was awful, disjointed, and slow throughout the night. - Our waiter was upselling us in the worst way. Lying about the portion sizes to trick us into ordering more apps. I ordered the lamb chops and he asked "what sides would you like" as if they didnt already come with 2. I was confused because he offered them as if they were included, but was definitely referring to the additional $9 sides. - Pouring the wine horribly and unevenly to waste the bottle and prompt us to order another. - 2 ladies shared the Chateaubriand ordered medium rare, it came out blue and shaking. Then it took 30 minutes for the kitchen to refire it up. - Forgetting an entree we ordered, and having to ask our waiter, then a bus-boy, then the manager to bring it to us. The straw that broke the camels back was the waiter manipulating our check and adding $110.50 worth of Evian water that we never ordered. After being there for 3 hours through slow service, the waiter asked if we wanted dessert. We said no thank you were ready for the bill. 10 minutes later, he brought the dessert menu anyway saying he wanted to offer us a few comped desserts. We still declined and asked for the check again. He brought it and my senior boss gave him the credit card right away without reviewing the bill. This made me nervous since the service was so disjointed with multiple people waiting on us, I thought there could be errors. Anyway, he immediately takes the check and card over to the computer and spends 5 minutes doing God knows what. He comes back and I insist that my boss let me review the bill. Low and behold, $110 worth of water we never ordered. 13, 1.75L bottles for 7 people? We definitely didnt each drink ~3 liters of water. And we never ordered bottled. At the beginning of the night, the waiter offered us "sparkling, bottled, or still" and we said still with a complementary hand gesture that we wanted basic old Lake Michigan water. He "assumed" we mean Evian still water, which was not the case. We got the manager involved again and it took an ordeal to get that removed. Then me and my team argued about what to tip for this horrible night. We are all 20% minimum tippers, but after that last trick, we left him 15%, which was still $120. Watch out for this server, his name started with an A and seemed of latin origin, though he looked and sounded Eastern European. Maybe Almarindo or something like that. Go for the food, watch out for your bill.

I was stuck dealing with an extremely stressful/embarrassing situation because of a miscommunication on event start time, but how the situation was handled from there was even worse. Firstly, the event/managerial staff were incredibly unhelpful and even rude to us and our guests. In fact, I got reports from our guests that the female hostess(?) that morning not only failed to greet or help usher them to the appropriate section of restaurant but actually told them they needed to leave and tried to kick them out. Working in the service industry, the restaurant should have enough training/common decency to politely explain they were working to address a mixup and do what they could to show hospitality in the meantime. Secondly, I have yet to receive ANY response from the event staff or main restaurant after filing a direct complaint WITH ATTACHED PROOF OF MY EVENT TIME CONFIRMATION and following up a week later. The first hour of my event was a humiliating disaster in which I had to retrieve guests who were being turned away, scramble to set up the space in front of our earliest arrivals, explain to folks why we were all just standing around awkwardly, and try to at least get the wait staff to serve a few beverages while we waited for food. Its a shame I feel compelled to post this after being completely ignored by those I reached out to directly, because the kitchen and wait staff did the best they could under the circumstances and (eventually) turned out a delicious meal.

Only 1/3 full when we arrived at peak brunch time, we were a little worried from the start. The mimosa flavor was off-putting to our whole table, maybe because the only one on offer was blood orange, but either way we didnt want to finish them. Coffee came but we we never offered refills. Our meals arrived but never our appetizers, despite us having two servers handing our table. When the meals arrived, only 3/4 of them were right, as mine wasnt even the right item on the menu (somehow he forgot we had a conversation about serving my steak medium since the order that arrived was eggs). My friends finished their meals while I waited, which was what it was, but then nobody cleared their empty, dirty plates despite the empty restaurant and wandering bus guy. My medium steak finally arrived very rare and without the side of toast I had ordered (though that eventually showed up). No water refill until meals were over. All in all a pretty lousy experience, which is weird because this place used to be a solid meal. We wont be back.

Lunch with 8 friends was a disaster from start to finish. Our waiter was rude, told us soda refills were not free (he was wrong), and repeatedly slammed down our drinks on the table. When our food finally came out 5 out of 8 of us were either missing food or our orders were incorrect. Three people got the wrong type of fries, they forgot one persons order entirely, and two people had to send orders back for being wrong. One person had her order wrong twice and didnt even get her food until we were all ready to go. Then our bill was horribly wrong and it took the waiter almost 30 minutes just to figure it out and take our money. The entire lunch took over 2 and a half hours. The manager tried to make it right at the end but the damage was done. Lunch was supposed to be a fun and relaxing experience and instead we all left with headaches and sky high anxiety levels. And the food itself was nothing all that great. Ill never go back!

First dining experience in Chicago and it could not have been more spectacular. I was visiting from San Francisco, and a local relation took us here! The bar-tender made fabulous recommendations for cocktails while making us feel at home. Our table was great, I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to easily carry on a conversation at our table without any problem with noise on a busy night. The food was perfection, creative and delicious and served in a pleasant manner that made sharing easy. Our server knew the menu, including special diet considerations, and did a great job of steering us to some favorites based on our input on flavor preferences. The truffle mushroom croquette was spectacular and we all agreed to order a second plate to share in lieu of dessert!

Went on a Saturday night. Food was great, but service was very lackluster. Had to wait 20 minutes after reservation time to be seated, server took drink orders and disappeared for 20 minutes before returning . After dinner, desert order had an error and took 15 minutes to correct. Then another 25 minutes for our check....we were there for 2 hrs and 35 minutes... again food was great, but not extraordinary. Will probably not go back since we can get same quality food with excellent service on a 350 dollar bill at numerous other restaurants in Chicago.
