Food: 3 Decor: 1 Service: 3 I came here with three friends on our drive back from Nashville. There is street parking and no seating inside. 1. Pepper and garlic salmon, 15.6/lb Pretty good. Fresh salmon, with plenty of pepper and garlic. 2. Smoked shrimp, 21/lb Not bad. I normally dont like shrimp when its still got the skin on, but this had a nice smoky taste to it. Would have been nice if they de-veined them though. 3. Fries Okay. Not oversalted like a lot of places, although I could only eat a couple before stopping. We got one piece of the salmon and 8 shrimp, which was enough to share between two people. Service was okay, although I wish they were friendlier and suggested a couple items.

Theres not much to say about legendary place that hasnt already been said. You must come here. It might be the last place in the city to use "real wood burning smokers" (outside of course). Just remember the Fish Dinner is kinda like Fish n Chips (UK) minus the newspaper wrapper and Fish Chips are just Fish Chips without fries. Bring cash $ they dont do plastic here. No cash, No soup for you! (theres actually no soup) TIP: eat it in your car or on the bridge weather permitting. This stuff is made to eat fresh. if you must travel tear a hole in your bag so not to steam it. :)

Went there on last day of my Chicago trip before heading back to Cali. I was in Love at first sight.... The selection of smoked fish was awesome n they had the jumpo shrimp. Carlos was nice enough to give us a tour of the smoker n let us sample some on the spot. He even gave us a tutorial of past critics n customers that had visited the store. Food was delicious, I ate it in airport with crackers n saved a little for the plane. Ill be back Labor Day weekend n this will be my 1st stop so I can have some every night Im there. If you come in from the north following the Lakeshore Trail, there are a good number of bike lanes leading here. However, there is only a single rack to lock your bike to, enough for two bikes. Up to four with some creativity. There isnt much in the way of tables or chairs, inside or outside the establishment, so the options are to eat on the grass, on the concrete blocks around the back, or in your car if you drove. What they lack in furniture, they more than make up for in the quality of their food.

Apparently this is place is getting some new Chicago buzz. But, having grown up just down the street, its always been on my radar. Personally, my family frequented it more heavy during Lent, but definitely ate here plenty. I would generally order the shrimp, but there are plenty of other fish options either fried or smoked. You can get sides of slaw and fries. A greasy spoon location that many folks on the South side love.

Often imitated, never duplicated. Ill admit, I tried to replicate their recipes on my home smoker, but never successful. Theres something about that old smokehouse in the back that makes their smoked seafoods so good. I always order their salmon, chubs, and shrimp whenever available. And I even had their frog legs too which I found quite pleasant. Just be ready, its cash only.

If you love seafood, youre not going to want to miss out on hitting this place! Seriously is off the beaten path, but trust that the food is fresh and youre going to be happy you checked it out. This is a pick up and go type deli stop, so dont plan on eating here. (Just for kicks, take some pics)...The bridge across the way was the same one in the Blues Brothers movie.

This place looks like a total hole in the wall, but they make some of the most delicious smoked seafood Ive ever tasted. I regularly crave the smoked salmon. Plan to park and eat in your car, because they dont have seating. Pro tip: Not too far from 3 Floyds brewpub, and the combo could make a great day trip down from Chicago for food & beer enthusiasts.

Went to Calumet Fisheries yesterday after not visiting in some time (moved out of state). Must say, that little shack next to the calumet bridge still has the best seafood in town. Remember when I used to go there as a teen, yep its still there. Gotta check out the jumbo shrimp on Friday nites - to die for. Definitely worth the trip.

Really delicious fish and chips. The young kids were friendly and there wasnt a long wait. Chips were decent, which made me smile. Just difficult to get too as there is only one location and its literally 13 miles from where I live. During the weekday, its hell to get too (and return home).

Hit and Miss...sometimes hot and moist, while other times dry and bland. When I go I normally get shrimp and scallops. Fish nuggets are good if they dont over cook them. But overall...I continue to go back and pray for a good day. But the smoked fish is absolutely the best in the city !!

A remnant of a past era, Calumet Fisheries smokes their own fish in a small shack on the bridge made famous by the Blues Brothers. The fish is out-of-this-world good. Beware, there is no seating and its cash only. This place is worth the trek from other parts of Chicago.

This is fish-heaven. Its basically a shop that sells smoked fish (the pepper salmon is divine) and theres really no place to sit comfortably and eat, but the food makes up for everything! Be sure to grab some fried smelt and fries with the salmon and shrimp.

Chicago classic. If you like fried and smoked seafood and ordering to go from a shack, this is a must. Try the fried scallops. Also, its right past the bridge used in the Blues Brothers - that bridge jump scene over the 95th St bridge.

Lovely selection of smoked seafood, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Really friendly staff, reasonably priced, and delicious flavors. These guys know what theyre doing, even Anthony Bourdain is a long time fan.

We always try to stop here on our way up to the city. They have amazing smoked trout and salmon. We also love their fried oysters! Very reasonably priced. Bring wet napkins though, it gets messy! Also there isn’t a bathroom.

Finally tried this place, I wasnt impressed at all. I orderd shrimp & calamari which the shrimp were small and I didnt care for the batter on the calamari, would prefer calamari from a sit down restaruant. Wont be back!

Stopped at Calumet Fisheries for a much needed meal on a bike ride to Three Floyds Brewery. The fish dinner was as great as ever and much needed. Only suggestion - a table in the shade would be great for hot days!

If youre into smoked seafood, its great. However the take-out and fast food is terrible. It tastes like theyve used the same grease for a decade, and cooked fish, fries and old shoes in it.

A hidded Gem nestled along the shore of the Little Calumet river on Chicagos SE side. Featuring a fresh array of smoked and chilled fish and shrimp. Not cheap but it is worth the price.
