This coffeehouse is a dark, quiet corner tucked away on a bright and busy street. The decor is homey and the furniture, while not soft, is at least comfortable. The coffee is what I would expect from a standard third wave coffeeshop - not brewed with the same care as a pourover youd make yourself at home, but good all the same. The selection is quite robust. The lattes are served in deep cups and come with a quick basic floral pattern. Service was quick, polite, and helpful when I was not familiar with their regular or special options. They also have wifi! All in all, I would recommend stopping by if youre walking the area and need a quick sit-down. Definitely preferable to the starbucks down the block.

This place is OK. I go here mainly because its nearby. You cant get espresso over ice, or cortado to go, etc. because the owner doesnt allow it. But the interior could definitely use a makeover if you want people to sit and enjoy their drinks in your place. The furniture all has a pretty cheap quality to it, as does the lighting. The coffee is actually good. But they should step it up a notch overall as a business experience.

Ellipsis is a new coffee shop near Loyola University. Stella Espresso used to be in the same location and I studied there on a daily basis. I recently went to Ellipsis for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The coffee is very expensive, but the atmosphere is perfect for studying or hanging out. The set up is a lot like Stella, but it is a lot more updated and seems cleaner.

Fascists! I dont like to be dictated how to enjoy my coffee. They would not serve my espresso over ice for some the way I want to consume it. The explanation was that their boss told them that was not how they were supposed to serve it for some pretentious reasoning I didnt stick around to hear. Dont mess with people and their coffee before they have had their coffee in the morning.

This place provides a great environment to get your work done, with a variety of seating arrangements—long tables, single seating against the wall, or more personal table settings. The natural light that comes in will keep you awake and alert..and their coffee sure will too. The cappuccinos are amazing, they really take the time to craft the best cup of coffee for you.

Great local place that you can feel good about in spending your money. The pastries are great (biggest bagels ever!) and the coffee is delicious although the large isnt large enough for me! They keep the doors and windows wide open in nice weather and there are places to get cozy and twiddle away on your computer or book.

Had a really great cappucino! Also ordered the peanut butter cup oatmeal. I thought it was just peanut butter, so I was surprised when it was sweet with chocolate. It was super yummy, but more of a dessert than a breakfast item. They added steamed milk which was super good too. Nice vibe, and quiet at 9 am.

Theyve done an excellent job of cleaning up the place and making it more warm and cozy but still feels nice and modern. Plus they have the best iced coffee in the area. You should go there instead of that "other" coffee shop down the road they just opened and support your local Rogers Park business.
