Waraku is the most authentic Japanese cuisine I have found in the greater Atlanta area. I have lived on both coasts - sampling sushi from the Pacific and the Atlantic. Its more than just a sushi bar. The food covers a wide variety of true Japanese selection. Having only eaten at Waraku a few times, I cant say Im a regular at this restaurant. The times I have spent there have all carried positive experiences. The service isnt perfect, but the food more than compensates for it. The menu does require some help interpreting. Its mostly written in Japanese. Whether youre experienced in Japanese dining or youre totally new to it all, this place has an inviting atmosphere and excellent food. The final bill may be a little steep, but when you taste the food, youll understand.

Ive been coming here for years and feel so fortunate to have a traditional style restaurant near my house. My mom is Japanese and I bring her here whenever shes in town. They have a seasonal menu and daily specials. Its one of the few Japanese restaurants in town that serves mugicha (barley tea) in the summer time, as well as soba. On a hot GA day, both are quite refreshing! Im also a big, big fan of katsu curry which is hard to find on a menu and love their tofu/avocado salad. Plus, there are dishes that come served with a fried egg on top. Its something that I grew up with and it reminds me of my moms homestyle cooking. This place is one of Suwanees treasures.

This was a really good Japanese restaurant. I went there for lunch and had a bento box. The salad and soup in the beginning was very good. The actually bento box had a lot of different items. I had tempura shrimp rolls, fried croquette, scallops, rice, and orange slices in mine. It was all really good. The portion was big enough and it was worth it for the amount of sushi and food that was given. My final bill was $12 with tax and tip included, which is somewhat on the higher end for lunch but not too bad. The service was nice and the place was fairly clean. It also had a great ambiance and nice furniture.

I love this place, great fresh suchi, and they do also have authentic traditional japanese food in addition to their delicous sushi, e.g., I had japanese pancake (Okonomiyaki), that tasted as deliciuous as the pancake I had in Japan. I also read the previous review Robert Goolsby review that mentions a C food rating, which was a surprise to mee so I looked it up, and they have an A rating now so perhaps it was a glitch somewhere, not sure. The place has always looked super clean when I visited, and I have been there many times.

This is a hidden treasure of a restaurant. We went there for my birthday lunch for the first time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the portions are generous. Having lived in Japan for a couple of years, to me the taste is authentic. We had the bento box lunch which came with Miso and a leafy green salad. The sashimi was excellent as was the sushi. The light crunch to the spicy tuna roll was refreshing too. This one stays on my list of to go to places for authentic Japanese food.

They got good stuff here. Really good stuff. Stuff you cant find anywhere else. They got home made ramen, which tastes entirely different from instant ramen. They have the ever elusive croquet, which is just a deep-fried potato patty with corn and carrot pieces. And yes, it is delicious. Their terryaki dishes are also superb. And if you happen to understand kanji, they have a bunch of manga for you to read for free. No manga in English though, which makes me sad. Prices are pretty reasonable too.

The food was excellent, the staff was wonderful and the environment was perfect! There was a variety of traditional Japanese foods to choose from including ramen, sushi, bento boxes, onigiri and more. It was a bit overwhelming for me to choose, but the sushi chef helped me decide what would be good for me! Everyone was so helpful and so friendly, it already feels like home. I recommend this restaurant very highly! :D

Horrible. Ordered $30 worth of sushi, waited an hour and never got served the food let alone told why it was running behind... Saturday night and it might as well be a Tuesday at 2pm. Very disappointed... Left and went to Grand China off 317 And Lawrenceville Suwanee... Had our food in 15 mins. Will never go back again. Go to Oriental Garden! 3 mins away and much better experience!

Traditional Japanese restaurant, very friendly. Of course you can get your "sushi fix" here, but sushi restaurants are a dime a dozen in the metro. Waraku has traditional Japanese entrees that you wont find in most places. Branch out and order a warm bowl of crunchy noodles with savory sauce, or try one of the other entrees; theyre delicious!

Menu is mostly is Japanese, but staff was friendly and more than willing to answer questions. Had bento box and a variety of sushi during my 2 visits and was delighted both with the presentation and taste both times. Not very busy either time, and my food came out quickly. Free hot tea and lots manga to read while your order is being made.

I came here based on the reviews posted on google. The food is good, but the takeout wait time was horrible. I spent more than 1 hour waiting for my 2 orders of sushi and they had to confirm my order 10 minutes before it was ready. What were they doing for the first 50 minutes I was waiting? If you go, eat in, do not take out food.

We were craving bento boxes and sushi but it never came. We ordered at 6:25p and decided to leave once we realized that it was 7:30p. Unfortunately, we had to go down the street and eat Sonic (and ate in 5 min). By the way, we never received the miso soup and salads that were supposed to come before our entrées.

The restaurant is cold with a fan on in Winter night. Extremely slow service tonight. We have been waiting for at least 30 min for the main dish....expected our dinner is fresh and hot. Unfortunately the tempura, teriyaki beef and chicken were cold and tough. Very disappointed. Will not come back!

Its a hidden gem, with good food /// Staff is very friendly and helpful /// Price is average /// My only complaint is that before I used to get a lot more food for the price. I typically got the Volcano roll which used to be a mountain of spicy sushi and now its like a little hill of sushi.

I decided to stop by and try this place and soon regretted it. First, it took 35 minutes to get my to-go order. While I was waiting I noticed the C rating from the health inspection and lastly the food was mediocre at best. I suggest trying somewhere else.

I came to the restaurant with $600 ready to eat everything I could. Fortunately I received all my food for free!!! Would highly recommend coming here as you have a chance to win an all you can eat buffet #dicksoutforharambe
