The worst service ever. We were loyal customers because we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, but every time we went, there was an issue with the service and tonight was the last time. We couldnt give this place another chance. First time, the server was inattentive to the point of rudeness. She clearly wasnt qualified to do the job. Dull and discourteous. Second time, we were sat by the hostess; we waited for over 10 minutes and nobody would take care of us. When our waitress came she didnt even apologize for being late. Overall she wasnt nice at all. She looked unhappy and jaded. Yet we went another time, Our waiter left in the middle of our meal and we started being served by someone else, when he came back he said he went to the liquor store to get some beers before they closed. Next time, our waitress gave us the lunch menu for dinner and when we got the check we realized that the prices were different, when we told her, she just nervously smiled and said "Im sorry" and they gave us a shot of limoncello to compensate the mistake. The other time our waitress seemed to not understand anything we said. She gave us an unremarkable service; we were not even done when she brought us the check without asking, it felt like a cry for: "please go now" kind of message. As we looked at her in awe, she offered to take it back but it was too late. Last time, we both ordered fish and the waiter brought one of us veil, we told him and he went and changed it, but when we got the check we notice that they didnt even comp anything to make up for the trouble of having to basically eat separated meals, since I had to eat my plate before it got cold and my boyfriend had to wait and see me eating. So, he asked to talk to the manager and he started blaming the kitchen staff, then he came up with a "surprise to make up for the mistake" and brought us a tiramisu dessert and 2 shots of limoncello (it seems like limoncello fixes everything). He didnt even ask if we were even willing to have more food. When we told him about all of our bad experiences with the service he just vented on us about all the issues hes been having with the staff, AND HE OFFERD US JOB AS SERVERS. We didnt even know what to say. Then when we told him to fix the bill, he said he was gonna ASK HIS WIFE. He took what seemed like an eternity, and came back saying that he had taken $10 off the bill and that we had a $10 gift card for our next visit. He didnt take off anything from the check, that was BS. We ended up waiting for him to leave the table and get the waiter to take our payment, which included the $10 gift card so that we never have to go back to that place. Its a shame because we really liked the food and we gave the place PLENTY of chances, but I guess that mediocrity is contagious and nobody in that place seems to care about improving on any level…. We cant keep going to a place just because we like the food and the atmosphere and continue to have bad experiences with the waiters. Enough is enough….. RIP Mambo.

Slow seems to be the motto for Mambo Italiano. I think we were around 20 minutes in by the time that they had managed to work out some confusion over who our server was and get drinks to the table. For an appetizer I ordered the anti pasto misto and seared ahi tuna. The anti pasto misto came out without the artichokes that were supposed to be on it. When our waiter came back we asked him if there were supposed to be artichokes on that dish and his response was "I dont know. Are there?" So, product knowledge is not a factor of employment at this place. We picked up the menu and showed him what was supposed to be on it. After saying "oh ok" he takes off and never comes back to resolve the issue at all. The ahi tuna was bland at best. Although seared tuna is generally pretty rare this was pretty much raw as they apparently dont understand the concept of searing and the outside was only slightly browned. It was somewhat hot and stuffy in the restaurant and as a result I knew I wouldnt be eating a huge meal so I decided to order something I knew would reheat well later and got the Stromboli. No complaints there. It wasnt memorable by any means but it wasnt bad. It was generous on cheese and the pepperoni and sausage had a decent flavor but as we also noticed with the anti pasto misto they do not care to peel the salami before they cut it so you are constantly either fishing out pieces of the casing from your food or from your mouth. My girlfriend ordered the Tuscan Filet Mignon. What a complete disappointment. I guess you cant expect a barrel cut in a place like this but at least make an effort to trim out some of the silver skin and grissel. The cut was horrible. It was the kind of steak I would have expected from waffle house for $10. The spinach was loaded with peppercorns to the point that they were a nuisance. High point of the dish; mashed potatoes. I suppose its hard to screw that up. By the time both of us finished eating we still had not been offered another drink. I had one beer when we sat down and its a good thing I didnt need another because with the lack of attention we made it through our entire meal without being offered another drink. Our waiter was virtually non-existent. We spoke to the manager before leaving and aside from a complete lack of even much false sincerity in an apology the manager was also not the least bit engaging. She did make an attempt at a nice gesture by offering a free desert but that is hardly going to make me give this place another shot. For the $81 we spent I felt like we had just been robbed. Another interesting note is that the second time we asked for the check we had to stop the manager to do it and she was on her way to apologize to yet more unhappy customers. The upside to this place? At the rate they are going hopefully they will vacate quickly and make room for something that could actually be good. There are too many other good places in the immediate area to go here. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Generally, the food was not that great, but of acceptable quality. The service, on the other hand, Id have to give them ZERO STARS! NADA! ZIPPO!. I have given them many chances over the past 2 years because its a convenient location from my work, coming back and time and again with a big disappointment every time. Every time I walked in, there were no one at the front desk to greet or seat me. The first time I visited, I stood there and patiently waited, the waitresses werent even busy that day, she looked over at me and totally ignored my existence. I finally asked one waitress for a seat, but while walking me to my seat another customer asked for a drink and she tended to her, leaving me standing there dumbfounded and never came back. I had to ask another waiter to seat me. After a few months I thought Id give them a second chance. This time I walked in, still no one at the front desk, patiently waited for 10mins, she came, walked me to my seat outdoor and totally forgot me there for a good 20+mins. Needless to say, I did not come back, for a about a year. Third visit, one year later, I walked in, stood there and waited patiently. Again, the waitresses looked over and obviously saw me standing there, totally ignoring my existence once again; I was actually starting to wonder if I was still alive or am I Bruce Willis from "the Sixth Sense". Then a white couple walked in behind me and a waitress hurriedly walked over to asked them if they needed a seat. I was just left standing there like a beggar. (Btw, I am formally dressed everyday for work, I was not wearing rags in case youre wondering. Just because Im a minority, dont treat me like I dont exist!) This was the last straw for me. I walked out and never came back again. To the manager/owner of this restaurant: please shape up and train your staff properly. I have never seen such rude service even in any fast food restaurants.
