Best Chinese and Asian Food in Alpharetta I went to Chin Chin tonight with my family for dinner. I have passed in front of this restaurant time after time, just never bothering to go in. But, today, we had been shopping all afternoon and needed a quiet place, close to home, to grab a relaxing, hot dinner before heading in for the night, and something told me to drive up to Chin Chin--I am so glad I did. We parked in front of the restaurant and read the Google reviews. They were mostly good, and the few complaints seemed related to delivery, as opposed to the quality of the actual food, on site. We went in. We were greeted by the smell of something vague and delicious cooking in the kitchen--I was reassured by this and we grabbed a very large booth not far from the entrance. Right after we sat down, the hostess came by our table and brought menus and water. We ordered the two orders of spring rolls (there are vegetarian and shrimp spring rolls, as well as vegetarian egg rolls, which delighted me, because I dont eat some kinds of meat) and two orders of seafood dumplings--one pan-fried and one steamed. The appetizers did not disappoint. One thing I noticed was that the mustard was very watery, but I ended up not minding because the spring rolls didnt need any condiments: they were delicious on their own. The duck sauce was very good, besides. The dumplings came out, next, and they were SO GOOD. I have been craving a perfect dumpling ever since I went to Chinatown in San Francisco two years ago. I had been looking for a great dumpling in vain. Well, Ive found one, now, and it is only four minutes from my front door! I cannot tell you how wonderful these dumplings were. The pan fried ones were the perfect combination of crisp and chewy, dense, and mouth-filling savory. The steamed dumplings were served in the little bamboo steamer, and they were tender and chewy, with the perfect size for your mouth, and the sauce was so delicious. I dont know the name of this sauce, but it was the most beautiful deep, dark, semi-translucent purple color. I could have just had the dumplings and sauce for dinner by themselves. If you are a fan of dumplings, you must try the pan-fried *and* the steamed--Im already craving them. We ordered three entrees: the seafood hot pot, the Thai basil chicken, and the phoenix and dragon. The Thai basil chicken came out first, and it looked amazing. The food comes out as it is prepared, so everything is HOT and fresh. The presentation is beautiful and everything is so fresh. The veg is cooked crisp and perfect. All of the flavors are so beautiful...The phoenix and dragon was split lobster tail on the shell, perfectly, expertly steamed, and the chicken part of the dish was perfectly fried; the sauce on it was so delicious---even if youve had this dish before, this one will blow your mind, because the sauce is incredible. You could taste the flavors of the fresh ingredients in the sauce! So good! The hot pot was fantastic and the Thai basil chicken was--well, lets just say two of the guests at our table fought over the last of it. :) This restaurant is such an unexpected delight because the interior is so unassuming--youd never expect the food to be so exceptionally well executed. It is so amazingly good. If you have had it delivered and didnt like it as much, try dining in, because this place is fantastic. And one of the best parts of the experience is the wonderful staff. I met one of the chefs and he was every bit as friendly and kind as the hostess. These people are friendly, polite, genuine, and just lovely. With Chin Chin, I have a new addition to my favorite restaurants in Atlanta, and Ive found my #1 favorite restaurant for Chinese food.

When I 1st starting working in Alpharetta, this was one of my favorite chinese restaurant and that was 4 years ago. Now, this place is on my list as I will never eat there again. When I entered the place on 11/29/11 the lady at the front desk had a huge attitude but I avoided that part and proceed with ordering my General Tsos Chicken with fried rice I wanted to order a side of Lo Mein and she refuse to offer the outstanding service that I know is available. I gave her the money and she snatched it out of my hand and to me that is very disrespectful, at that point I wanted to not order but I was craving for Chinese. I will not order from them every again because the customer service was awful and if the customer service was better maybe the food would have been better to me as well. Overall experience FAILED

I ordered Shrimp and Asparagus on my lunch and had it delivered. The driver got lost, it took 40 mins to get to me only being at max 15 mins way. The driver actually asked for a tip , so I did just for the effort. Opened my bad and was highly disappointed the shrimp were small and UN seasoned, no sauce and a mound of rice exceeding the shrimp and asparagus. Will never order again had to write review , cause I thought the restaurant was suppose to be a little upper Echelon., but I could have wen to Bankhead and got better food than this!

The spicy mustard was not so spicy. The General Tsos was soggy and not crisp, and the sauce was runny with no flavor. The banana fritters were not sweet, soggy and generally not good. And the fortune cookie of all things was stale. So hard to find good take away in this town. And I cant say I am a fan of any establishment that charges a delivery fee and is not upfront about it. Not that I am a fan of it in any capacity.

All I can say is, they have damn good Chinese dinner food, on par with NY, best I have had in Metro Atlanta. The pot stickers filled with fresh veggies are delicate, their Tangerine Beef is out of this world, and they use very fresh ingredients. It may not be fancy, but their chef pours a bit of love in what comes out of his kitchen, and you can taste it.

Ordered delivery at work. The delivery guy was the laziest Ive ever had. The chicken Lo mein was sub par, not worth the price. I ordered with another co worker, we used different cards to pay, it was the same address, but they charged both of us delivery fees. They forgot an extra sauce that was paid for. Will not be ordering from here again.

I ordered delivery to the hotel across the street. Spring rolls, General Tsos Chicken and Sesame Chicken with fried rice. The spring rolls were pretty good. The rice was dry and cold. The chicken tasted fine but was very stringy and chewy. Its likely the food would be better when fresh (non-delivery) but I was disappointed.

The food was simply ok. It was expensive compared to other places and getting delivery was terrible. It took an hour and 15 min when I was told an already long 45min. The driver wanted to argue about the address which I had to verify was correct. I will not order from here again.
