Hello to great BBQ and sides lovers! I have eaten and cooked BBQ all my 63 yrs and not just in the US. From Chattanooga and lived and played all over this country playing in bands and excursions and travels w family. I have my own good thick sweet finger licking lip smacking sauce and have cooked many whole hogs and am very proud of my 45 yr in the making baked beans! Always go into new place with open mind and understand ups and downs and ins and outs ea place of bus or location has. I found Rib Ranch and met fellow with heat pump I purchased from Atlanta from burned house. Was good excuse to find and meet at new place. I am tickled pink that I came upon this great place. Got killer meal there and was so good decided to splurge and get beef and pork ribs to go. Well we all know nothing as good the next day. hah on me! Both were better to my surprise. After cooking all my life and feeding people as often as I can let me tell you One Thing!!! I would never put my que up against the fellow at the ranch!! He exclaimed his parents turned bus over to him and sis and shes doin great with all sides and service. All que is different and cooked differently and people all have different tastes. whether oak coals and hickory or cherry, apple , or mesquite or whatevers good wood and indiginous to region these variables make for great varieties. When I read comments and reviews Im reminded that there are know it alls in every part of life. Most of the comments on All different businesses most of the time have to do with some poor waitress forgot or was so busy its not humanly possible to trot around and cater to one table as tho its the only table in a rest. I cant stand to hear someone gripe rather than raise their hand or Ooooo get up and help themselves a bit! Most of those gobble it down and dont leave a tip and carry that same attitude around with everything in their life. So when I say somethings really great Ive taken all things into consideration and this restuarant is one special rest! Dont be cheap the first time ya go someplace new. get a sampler platter and then make a good overall review!! Im POS theres something youll like. Or as me LOVE!!! My gal got such a charge outta me cuttin flips over products she wants to drive down 75 and visit again. We were nearly last to leave and I cherish the thought of getting to return someday. til then Ill fire up the grill , the coals, or the cherry tree I gotta cut on my farm in Ringgold and make do with my very good home cooked BBQ until I can return to one of my favorite spots to enjoy the Q . If you are thinking of booking this place for a catering event or booking their room for a private party, DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY. At first I thought this place sounded like a fair enough deal and I heard the food was pretty good. My wife and I booked their room at their restaurant for a private party for 30 guests. I was told this was an "all you can eat breakfast buffet". At almost $11 bucks a person (which you could order from the menu for about the same price) I figured it sounded fair enough. I was wrong. I get there and they barely have enough food out. They even served paper plates with plastic utensils! After about 20 people the bacon ran out. When I asked the waitress to bring more, after 20 minutes they brought enough for a few more people. Besides the food being sparse, people at my table waited over 20 minutes for a refill on their drink. What really made my day, was when I thought about how they automatically add a 20% gratuity. When I went to check out, the waitress tried to guilt me into leaving more because she said it really wasnt a gratuity but a tax free equipment charge? I guess for those expensive paper plated they had?!!! This restaurant ruined what was to be a special occasion for my friends and family. I was literally embarrassed by the lack of service and professionalism this place displayed. For that kind of money I expected much better. To top it off, I voiced my displeasure with the owner, and I received a very "sucks to be you" response. That is why I am taking the time to leave this review. I guess he feels they have been around long enough to not take care of his customers. Either way, I hope this discourages someone from booking an event with them. Several of my guests voiced displeasure, and I will never do business with this restaurant again!

I just finished having dinner here with my family and thought I would take advantage of their 10% discount offer that is clearly advertised as a 10% discount on your "PURCHASE"...the total amount of our family dinner was $64.15, when the bill came to the table the amount of the "discount" was $1.34 I asked the waiter what was going on, dont they know how to calculate a 10% discount? I was told that the "discount" is applied to only 1 item on the bill...REALLY? where does it say that the 10% discount is only applied to one item on the bill? There is NO fine print on any of the advertisements that the 10% applies to only 1 single item on the bill! The manager Ms. Nancy, just made up this lame excuse that the way the word "PURCHASE" is to be understood is that it means "purchases", one of your purchases receives the 10% discount. I said, hey, I didnt fall off the wagon here yesterday, I know what a 10% off your PURCHASE means, dont tell me that it is supposed to be thought of as a discount off a single item on the total bill, she said she could not do anything about it...as the acting manager, she was powerless to correct the bill. She gave me the owners business card and said call Mr. Sullivan...Really? This is a freaking insult to me and all the rest of the customers at the Rib Ranch. I have been eating here for over 15 years and that is the last time I will be giving them my business. Good luck pissing off the rest of your loyal customers!

My dad and I were looking for someplace interesting to eat. I found The Rib Ranch on Yelp and decided that 3.5 stars was worth trying. After eating here, I have mixed feelings. Upon arrival, we were told they were short staffed and everyone was running around. We had to wait about 5 minutes just to be told there would be a 10 minute wait. We were given drinks the literal second we sat down; drink that belonged to the next table over. Our waiter was very nice, if not a bit flustered, and we actually got to order within 5 minutes of sitting down. We had to wait 20 minutes for our hot wing appetizers which were actually cold and not that spicy (though I have a sensitive palete and need a lot of spice to taste anything). It was another 10 minutes before the entrees, which was great. My baby back ribs were very tender, but hardly had any flavor. Luckily there were bottles of BBQ sauce on the table. However, they got one of my sides wrong. I would like to give The Rib Ranch the benefit of the doubt, expecially since they were under-staffed. I know that can make a big difference. Im willing to go back at least one more time to see if the food and service could be better. The decor was pretty kitsch, too. I think they might have been going for novelty Texas, but weird stuff just ended up exploding all over the walls. Decor isnt the most important thing in the world, but I almost felt like I was in someones garage, not a restaurant.
