I came about 2 weeks ago, looking for a BBQ place and came across this. At the time their Google hours displayed as opened on Sundays. So my fiance and I go and it looked empty, we saw a gentlemen leave with a to-go order, when we approched the door I see all sorts of advertisements saying they were "now open on Sundays". Well, talk about false advertisements. When we opened the door the girl said they were closed, even when mentioning their Google hours as well as store signs display they were opened on Sundays she ignored me. I wouldve felt much better had they explained why they were closed that day but nope. 2 weeks later I see NOW that their Google hours show theyre closed on Sunday. One thing is for sure, Im never coming back. Had the young lady been polite as to apologize to a potential customer their sudden change in hours I wouldve came back.

The ribs indeed lived up to their billing. They were meaty, well smoked and pulled easily off the bone. A thick crust added just the right amount of flavor- no sauce needed. The chopped pork was poor by comparison. Though it had some smoke flavor, it had lots of gristle and unrendered fat. I tried out the sauces on the pork and they all improved it. The spicy one was my favorite, actually more like hot sauce and not as sweet as most places in this area. The chicken breast in the sandwich was thick, juicy and well cooked. All the sides we tried were good; creamy potato salad, macaroni and cheese and delicious collard greens. Tea was sweet and cold, just how it should be. Even though we were stuffed, I couldnt resist banana pudding for desert, and it didnt let me down either.

I happened upon this little spot in search of the office depot in the same plaza. I had no idea a bar-b-q restaurant was even in the area, but when i exited my car the waft of smoked ribs, chicken and briskets was unmistakable. It was early and they hadnt open yet but as soon as I got back to work I goggled the number and gave them a call at 11 sharp to order lunch for myself and a coworker. My first bite was of a short rib and boy-o-boy did it rise to the occasion... I gave it a standing ovation. Im a girl born and raised in the south and (for me) good bar-b-q stands on its own. It shouldnt have to be drenched in sauce to taste good. And this my friend, is good bar-b-q.

I wanted to love it based on its reviews but its not up to par with other options. Pork is super wet even without sauce and on the side of too fatty. Only option for sauce is super sweet or super spicy. Greens are not thoroughly cooked and how can a barbecue joint in Georgia that serves greens and que only have a single, empty bottle of pepper sauce? They refilled it with cider vinegar but thats no substitute for a properly seasoned bottle of juice. I might also recommend offering a toasted bun with such wet barbecue because the bun ends up being limp and tasteless. But maybe Im just picky about my barbecue.

ihad just moved to the area and was looking for some good bar bq ..a Co worker told me about this place one day for while lookin for somewhere to eat for lunch. that was months ago Ive been hooked every since. the food taste great like Ive tried going to other places to see if maybe there was better but I quickly found there was not. the staff is awesome and very friendly and sweet . the deserts are amazing as well I didnt like banana pudding until I tried it here. and yes the prices are a lil high but you get great food thats worth every penny. I highly recommend you go and try them out !

The ribs are good the sides are bad. Ribs on day 1 were not as good as ribs on day 2. We only went back because we had to walk from where we were working that day. The "special" in the square for 10.25 is actually a sandwich. When i asked where it said sandwich ( i thought it was a combo plate) she said there is a picture by the door. If only i knew it was a puzzle i would have had more fun with picking my food out.... The lack of BBQ sauce is odd. You have hot or candy. At least they dont put BBQ on the ribs already. I would have like a smokey or normal choice.

Ive been going here for about 8 years now. Ive been hooked since my first rib. They are FALL off the bone tender. Their sauce is addictingly amazing. The owners wife makes the cakes herself. She is an AMAZING baker. And to top it all off their lemonade is at the perfect sweetness to make you feel like its 4th of July in Pops backyard every visit. I swear they BBQ with the "jesus" sandals on. You can tell by the shoes if they can bbq or not. Always look for the "jesus" sandals. You wont go wrong. :-P ;-)

Ribs were awesome. The ribs had a very nice jerky like bark with a light brown-red color on the outside while being tender and juicy on the inside. There was a very mild smoke flavor. Personally, I like a strong smoke flavor and some kick in the rub, but each their own right? I dont judge on what I want, I judge on how they cook it. The ribs are some of the best in Atlanta. Would I put them on my drive 100 miles for ribs list? Maybe, but they are already on my lunch rotation list.

I have to say Ive been going here since they opened and when they started they had some pretty good bbq. But something changed because the last few times Ive been in the bbq is more liked oven cooked. I had the beef and Bologna and their claim to fame is the secret is in the smoke. Well I eat lots of bbq and there was very little if any Smoke at all! Hope they can get the bbq under control because the folks that own it are good people and all the staff members are real nice!

Best bbq ive had since moving to the south. From Detroit and didnt care for smoked meat before going to thompson brothers. Who knew bologna could taste so good. There rub is amazing. Stop here weekly and prices are good. My only issues with them are missing items in takeout rather busy or not. Garlic toast is blah, and bbq sauce needs some work. Sweet is too sweet and hot is too hot. They take to much away from the meat. Mix is pretty good though.

Ive tried a few different bbq places in the Marietta/Smyrna area and they all are overrated. Thompson Bros. have the best tasting bbq hands down and you get your moneys worth. Even the sides are good. This will be the only place I go to for bbq on this side of town from here on out. The food even tastes good the next day which is always a bonus when you have leftover carry outs.

This might be the best ribs in Marietta. They offer a variety of bbq with different sauces. Service time varies but Ive never had to wait longer than 10 minutes. Plenty of side options and a few beers to pick from if you want to dine in. The dining in experience isnt anything crazy. But the food is great. Very reasonable prices too.
