I have never in my life done a review on a restaurant. That being said, my meal was so horrible I had no other choice but to warn the public to stay away from this restaurant. To spend $30 on two dinners and dessert and everything had to be thrown away, I had to share this. I ordered the beef brisket, macaroni and cheese, and collar greens for myself, and chargrilled chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn on the cobb for my son. The brisket was nothing but fat through and through, my dog enjoyed it; I however did not. The macaroni and cheese was noodles and some kind of cheese like product that was gluey. The collard greens were a good substitute for true southern collards if you cannot get the real thing. The peach cobbler was dry. I do not mean not a lot of juice, when I say dry, there was absolutely no hint of juice. It was actually a peach bread pudding, instead of a cobbler. The chargrilled chicken was dry. The corn on the cobb was covered in grease and not butter, and finally the mashed potatoes were bland. Needless to say, my first time at Barbecue Street is my last time at Barbecue Street, where the food is so bad, I dare not call to complain, they may offer me more of their food, and nobody wants that. Please save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere.

We have been eating here for years and it used to be great. We stopped in this evening for dinner and were extremely unhappy with the whole experience! First off our server didnt have it together at all. Our drinks were empty for at least 15 to 20 minutes and our server acted like it was a pain to get refills. Then our food took almost an hour to come out. It took so long that my husband and son had to get their food to go because our baby started crying because she was sleepy at that point. My parents came up there to meet us and it took so long for the server to get their drinks they decided to not even order. When they told her that, her reply was fantastic! Our server was never around the whole time... My daughter never got her honey mustard, we never got our to go cups, and then when I went to go pay the card reader kept declining our card and I know we have plenty of money. I am so disappointed with the experience that we will be going to The Nest down the street from now on. Between the awful attitudes there, the ridiculous wait time for anything we ordered, and the mediocre food at higher prices, we have decided to never return here again.

My wife and I travel and eat out quite a bit - and Ive managed several restaurants. Ive eaten BBQ across the country and several places featured on the Food Network. STOP looking at the menu and just tell them to bring you some FRIED PICKLES as soon as you sit down... thats right - FRIED PICKLES! Im an old southern boy, but my wife is from California - shes hooked on em so Ill keep her. Weve been several times. I enjoyed the BBQ - but the hidden secret at this place is the INCREDIBLE catfish - I loved it! The first time, I stole a piece from my wifes plate. The next time I got the "ALL you can eat plate". They must have stolen the recipe from my grandmother - this is a WINNER. Brunswick Stew was okay - but not the best Ive had. Baked beans are GREAT - slaw is not my favorite. Strawberry cake was delicious. Service has not been consistent - sometimes great, sometimes fair. I like to meet the owners when possible... one of the owners, Malcolm - one of the nicest guys youll EVER meet. Youll recognize him - Big Giant Teddy Bear.

Used to like this place. Food seems to have gone downhill, either that or we are very unlucky. We tried this place one last time tonight and the brisket was overly fatty and chewy, a far cry from what they picture on their menu. It looked more like chunks of beef than the nice juicy slice pictured in the menu. Manager did not even have the initiative when I called to offer to ensure our next experience would be much better, instead was defensive. We wont eat here again unless a miracle occurs. The coleslaw tasted like lawn clippings to boot. Potato salad was reasonable. Staff tends to be very junior, our dine in experiences have been inconsistent - weve had a couple of great people, but generally the staff are young and unprofessional - a far cry from a chain restaurant. Tonight we would have been better dipping $30 in barbecue sauce and eating that instead.

Very disappointed. Went in for a vegetable plate and ordered double green beans, mashed potatoes and mac&cheese with a lg sweet tea as a to go order. When my order came up and I went to the register I was presented with a $11.00 bill. I was shocked at how expensive the meal was but accept the blame since I did not look at the prices before ordering. I paid and thought to myself that my meal should be very delicious and certainly like home-cooking due to the price----WRONG! It was discusting. The green beans were slimey and had a odd taste, the mac&cheese was Ok and the potaotes were instant with hard clumps of hard flakes that had not been mixed well. I will never go there again. It is not that I am "cheap" but that is just a tad pricey for canned and instant food

Ambience starts out okay, very charming, but the table was sticky. Brisket was dry and crumbly, hickory sauce kinda helped, but I had no desire to finish it. The pulled pork is tasty, but it was oily like it had been sitting for a while. Tasted more like leftover pulled pork than fresh. I bet it would be awesome fresh. My sweet potato was burnt, the mac and cheese was dried out, the corn was dried out. The Brunswick stew had very little meat in it, but was ok. We had a nice piece of strawberry cake for dessert and that was the best thing we ate. This visit was not worth the $50 we paid for three meals. We were really hoping this would be good because it is within walking distance of our house, but I dont think we will go back. So sad.

You know, Im all for equal opportunity employers but Im not sure that the food industry is the best place to keep retards in charge. And, Im no management expert, but I thought it to be common sense that chefs should know the ingredients of the dishes they prepare. Beware take-out orderers: your order will be the result of picking ingredients out of a hat, or so it would seem from the last 3 orders Ive made. Or maybe the preparer just makes things depending on how he feels that day. Hmm. Not sure where they get their lettuce, cheese, chicken and tomatoes but for $9 a pop, I expect a salad to consist of more than just that. Ah well.. its not like were going through a recession or anything. Who needs quality for their buck? Lawl.

I ordered the Beef Brisket Plate with a side of coleslaw and corn on the cob to go. I dont know why I didnt check my order before I left but when I got home I was HIGHLY disappointed. First the portion was VERY small, the entire meal lacked any real flavor, none of it was seasoned AT ALL! For about $11 I was served 4 very thin slices of beef brisket, a half of ear of previously frozen corn, coleslaw that tasted like old cabbage, and a texas toast that was not even toasted. I could have gotten a better meal at the Kroger next door. I ended up throwing the entire meal in the garbage. What a waste!! Never again will I spend a dollar on this dump!!
