We had the unfortunate experience of trying this location recently rather than going to the Camp Creek location which is where we normally eat. First of all the Smyrna location is not very clean. After I mentioned it while waiting for our food, Mr. Jones asked his young employee to come and clean the tables to which he cleaned only half of them and then left the cleaning supplies on the tables. The tables were heavily scratched up and desperately needed replacing. While the workers were nice, they were Latina and had difficulty understanding English. They gave us the wrong food at least twice during the transaction. Half of the hair of one female employee was uncovered which was concerning as it was long and could have easily gotten in the food that she was preparing for customers, including myself. Mr. Jones was very odd and was difficult to communicate with. The food was mediocre and certainly NOT representative of true This Is It food. This place should NOT be allowed to use the This Is It name as they are a very poor representation of the restaurant. One member in my party had heard rave reviews of This Is It, but had never eaten there and I was completely embarrassed that I chose this location as an introduction to the restaurant. Mr. Jones stated that people tend to look down on this location because is it not as large as the other ones, but the real reason is because this place is truly representative of a "hole in the wall." Do yourself a favor and avoid it at all cost.

This location is extremely inconsistent. I understand that every cook may not follow the recipes to an exact science. However, the food should still have a similar taste. Today, I had cabbage that tasted as if they poured a whole container of jalapeño pepper juice in it. It was so spicy that I couldnt finish it. The fried chicken wings lacked even the most basic of seasonings. The mac & cheese was beyond bland. I truly feel that This Is It! Corporate should step in and high jack this store to save their good name and reputation. I have eaten at 3 other locations. This is the absolute worst. The other locations are friendly, consistent, and worth the money. I was excited about moving to the area and having a convenient soul food establishment nearby. Ive given them way too many chances, and only 1 of those times did I feel that the food was slightly above mediocre. Oh! Lets talk about the card machine being down. That is terrible business to say that you wont be EXCEPTING (not accepting) cards until further notice. Who operates a cash only business in 2016?! Corporate needs to takeover or open up a new Smyrna location. Seriously. I wont be spending my hard earned money at this location anymore. Thats for sure!

Terrible Barbecue. I was referred by the Enterprise folks next door, and thought it was worth a shot. Ordered platter of chopped pork and brisket with baked beans and potato salad. Food was not up to temp. The only thing that was in the safe zone was the salad which was indeed cold (as it should be). The baked beans were room temperature. Pork: dry, no smoke flavor at all, very little bark if any. Brisket: might as well call it dryer than pastrami and flavorless. Baked beans: average... but when served room temp theyre no good. Potato Salad: should be called mayo salad, but flavor was fine. It came with cornbread muffins as well, but theyre not much to write about. They taste like Jiffy corn bread. If you want mediocre BBQ, drive to Shanes down the road. If you want dry, flavorless meat that tastes like it was cooked in a hotel pan in the oven this is the spot for you. I wont be back.

I went yesterday, This is the worst location by far... only 2 employees in the entire restaurant, so Im sure they were doing the best they could, with what they were given.. at least they were professional and trying as hard as they could... now let me talk about the old ass food they were warming up and serving though... the famous rib tips were tough, and ppl know what leftovers are.. my question is leftover from when?? I dont want to get started on the sides, BTW yams should be a bright orange color not brown... unless they are old, or perhaps too much vanilla... idk they were just wrong... I took the 20 min drive for the chattering, which I will never do again seeing as though they cant even handle basic soul food, chitterlings aint basic... I used to be a huge fan of "this is it".. but the Smyrna location has completely turned me off....

saw the commercial and thought Id try it. Got 1/2 BBQ Chicken and 6 fried shrimp to take back to my hotel. First, they couldnt get the credit card device to work and was making everyone pay with cash - Second, the chicken wasnt fresh. The food sits under heat lamps very much like a buffet. I dont how long it was there but it was dry and lukewarm, at best. So I tossed the chicken in favor of the shrimp. I cant even tell you what was wrong with the shrimp - I know they cooked it while I waited but it either was overdone or underdone or maybe just freezer burnt from being frozen. I tossed that also. So 1/2 chicken, 6 shrimp and a piece of cake costs $17.00. Red Lobster would be better for that price.

Im really surprised about the bad reviews here, however I understand everyone has a different taste pallet. The location is centrally located. I love the majority of the menu items, especially the ox tails. Much like many restaurants, it depends on whose working. All employees are NOT following the recipe. On these days the soufflé and mac and cheese are mediocre! My biggest pet peeve with this location, ever week we try to support the franchise, and every week the credit/debit card machine in down! Youre not only loosing sales, youre also loosing repeat customers. Get a new machine already.

The food here is seasoned and cooked very well depending on who is in the kitchen, well actually the sides are usually pretty consistent but the cook to order main dishes are sometimes a hit or miss. The lady that is usually behind the counter in the evenings is friendly but some of the other staff isnt always. Beware the fried whitening (which is fillet) while delicious, still sometimes has bones in the tail, also Ive heard that the rib tips at this location are mostly grizzle and fat. Favorite sides: Mac n cheese, collard greens, sweet potato souffle (A++) , cabbage and the cornbread muffins

I was not pleased with this location! It did not meet my standardsl! The bbq chicken I ordered was not fresh, it tasted like it was warmed up, then smothered in sauce. The mac and cheese was disgusting, it swimmed in a bland cheese sauce that was drowning out the soggy noodles. The mac and cheese was more like a cheese soup with noodles and the location looks like an old chinese restaurant, the only thing nice was the new menus that were streaming over flat screens. Next time I will stick with the Camp Creek location!!!

BBQ need to be taken off the name of this place. I never in my life had rib tips that were not rib tips. This place sells the overlapping meat from spare ribs as rib tips. Insipid fake bbq sauce canned greens and canned baked beans. Just what kinda eating yall doing in Smyrna Ga? Aint no place like Memphis Tn when it comes to bbqin grilling and home cooking. I had better meals at large franchise restaurants. All of this mediocre food is a waste of money and time. Crap.
