Ive never had a bad experience here. Until tonight. I sat at the bar since I was eating alone tonight. The story is too long to type out. Lets give the highlights. She tried to talk people into getting their food to go. She only brought someone else at the bar their side and argued with him he hadnt ordered a main course, despite bringing his date their food and the two had ordered the same thing. There is even more ridiculousness I could talk about, but I will just jump to her asking me, with attitude, what I wanted to order and she still hadnt brought a menue. After finally getting my menue and explaining to my bartender the difference between what beer I asked for vs what I was brought... I eventually, after waiting too long, had to flag down a different server because my bartender was sitting at a table showing a customer pictures on her phone. Luke saved the night and took care of me despite not being my server. I was also expected, from her, to pay my bill without a tab and I heard a table behind me (she had a total of 4 customers) ask for a different server. To be fair she mentioned shes only been here two weeks...but. . the food quality vs price is awesome and the service is USUALLY good.

I went to this so called seafood restaurant in lawrenceville on Crogan St. On 2/29/2015, Very bad experience, first we ordered calamari, that had absolutely no flavor, and had the texture of a rubber band, it was so bad that the waiter even shook his head. I shouldve left but I was hungry and already there, I then asked for the riblets meal that came with coleslaw or should I say deathslaw...it was horrible and mushy, so I only ate a little, worst move ever...Ive been sick for three days...food poisoning is my quess...Ive been throwing up for 2 days, barley starting to feel better, my wife called today(3rd)day to let the so call mgr.(robert) just so hell know and so no one else will get sick he wouldnt even own up to it, we gave him a chance to make it right, all he had to say was sorry bout that instead he said they forgot to drain the fruit, and he suggested that maybe its because of the change in weather...how insulting....how insane. I think the city should get involved, Im sure Im not the only one, my next call will be the food or restaurant inspector. Youve been warned, eat at OYSTER BAY SEAFOOD CAFE AT YOUR OWN RISK....

The crab cakes are similar to Dominicks, but smaller and higher priced. The oysters are good - but small. Rest of food is edible, but nothing to write home about, and overpriced for what it is. Atmosphere is okay, as long as you dont mind eating in decor that resembles a 1950s auto service garage. Service is fairly friendly and prompt, except the young man who is normally the bartender -- he has a tendency to be judgmental regarding whether or not you appear intoxicated and will take possession of anything of yours on the bar (cell phone, car keys, cigarettes, etc.) to keep you from leaving until he deems you to be be sober enough to drive (and will force you to drink a copious amount of water, which does nothing to sober you up) -- "so you wont get stopped for dui on the way home, for the good of the restaurants reputation..." however, he should be noted as an expert on this matter since he was charged with DUI and Failure to Maintain Lane on 09/08/2011, according to the Gwinnett Police Docket Book.

My husband and I often seek out different seafood spots to visit and ran across this one on the urban spoon website. Unfortunately this was the absolute worse place we have chosen so far. The calamari was extremely chewy and just buried in clumps of batter. The first basket of fried oysters were limp, greasy and had not been fried long enough. The waitress acknowledged and agreed that they should have been fried longer. The second basket was fried longer, yet soaked in grease. The waitress was little less than accommodating by stating, "they are fried," and offered no apology or customer satisfaction efforts. Fried in grease, and soaked in grease are TWO totally different presentations. I had a small seafood gumbo that was fair, and a side salad. The salad, and our sodas were the best part of this entire experience. A real waste of money.

The food is awesome! It tastes well cooked, sauces are perfect, and everything always looks good as well. I give it only three stars because of the service and appearance. I sat in a hallway looking at their drinks and carbonation tanks to the right of me. The whole entire wall was filled with to go boxes, silver wear, etc. The service was also terrible, my waiter took forever to place my order because he was busy talking to his co-workers, and when I paid for my meal he took my card, left it at the register and went away to do something else. I did not feel comfortable with that knowing anyone could just come up to the register and take my card information. The waiters run back and forth like they have this huge restaurant to cater to, but really its maybe 3-4 tables.

I am not big on going to small seafood restaurants so far away from the coast. But Oyster Bay Seafood Cafe is great. Their fish is fresh, the prices are great and they have great specials throughout the week. On Tuesdays they have a great deal on Crab Legs and they cook them to perfection. They are not overcooked and rubbery like some of the big chains. My favorite dish strangely enough is the Sloppy Joe, its huge, they use quality meet and the sauce is perfect. You have to eat it with a fork and knife because its huge. I can take my family of four and have a great meal with a few beers and still get out for under $60 which is impossible now days for quality food.

We accidentally went to the Oyster Bar last nite. I say "accidentally" because we were en route to another restaurant. The ambiance and warm glow of the lights inside drew us in. The place was filled with people, the atmosphere was happy with laughter. My hubby ordered the oysters and soup....the after loving them, ordered MORE oysters! I had the crab cakes (very flavorful) ....but maybe could use a little more crab. And the seafood gumbo was delicious! We sat at the bar and the bartender Brittany was very pleasant, competent, and informative. The service was fast and correctly delivered. We will DEFINITELY be back !!!!!!! :)

Not terribly expensive but you get what you pay for, I suppose. My wife and I have been here twice. Once time was good (2 years ago) and then we went this last August (2012). I got shrimp and some fish. Both were a little plastic tasting. Ive come to understand in this part of the south its difficult to find seafood that I think is good (I prefer Cajun/New Orleans/Gulf-style seafood). I do understand that the restauranteur has to make something usually general-tasting in Atlanta area in order to do decent business. For this area, it seems the best seafood is at Papadeauxs. The service was Ok but nothing to write home about.

I ordered the jumbo stuffed shrimp. I should have gone with my first thought and had the fish tacos as my friend really enjoyed them, but I didnt. Huge mistake! We asked the waitress what the shrimp was stuffed with and she said the crabcakes. She really should have said theyre not stuffed at all, but thrown over a bed of crabcakes (if I can even call it that). It as awful! I hated my food and myself for ordering it and not sending it back immediately on sight. My husband did enjoy the oysters as well. Service wasnt that great on a Saturday night. Not sure if I would go back, but stay clear of that "stuffed" shrimp!
