Me and my 73 year old elderly mother came in for the first time and we are use to eating at the Cookie Jar in Blairsville, a buffet where you get your food and pay on the way out. So we gathered the food, sat down and a latino girl at the top of her voice accused us of stealing, and demanded us pay. Ok thats fine. 35$ later for 6 pieces of chicken and some other meats and veggies(no drinks) I was treated to the worst meal I have ever eaten. Instead of politely pointing out our error, we were made to feel like thieves, when the only thieves were the restaurant charging outlandish prices for food best served in a dumpster. Did I mention my mom was 73? Yup she was in tears. If I ever go here again it will be to take a dump on the smarmy blonde behind the counter that further antagonized the situation by eyeballing us while we forced down the manure they call food.

The Longstreet Cafe on Pearl Nix has "lost" its way on how to treat customers. Have been there through the years to see how they used to care with smiles, etc. to now sadly see how they have "lost their way", to become non-caring, rude, etc. Treatment by the person now cashiering at breakfast is beyond acceptable. If she is the "face" of the restaurant, then there is not enough botox in the world to give a facelift to this place. Dont walk away.....RUN AWAY!! There are far too many breakfast spots in Gainesville to have to be belittled and treated rudely. It reminds me of a McDonalds or Burger King in customer service these days..... and you know what I mean by that! Ownership... wake up and pay attention before its too late. Why has your business been slipping? Why do you not have the numbers of customers and breakfast revenue that you used to? Look around!

Best banana pudding in town! True southern cooking. It is a self service line buffet so you can choose how much or how little of each thing that you want. Items are priced individually so it can get expensive if you choose multiple items. Our family usually plans for each person to get 2 vegetable selections and we share some with each other so we can get a variety. You will never go hungry here and there is something for everyone, even picky eaters. They also have a made to order menu.

The best country cooking Ive had in years. Having over 20 years experience as a service tech driving an electrical truck all around the south I have quite a bit of experience knowing where the best country cooking is located and this little gem is now at the top of the list! The CFS was perfect, great white gravy, perfectly seasoned green beans, delicious salad, the best banana pudding, cornbread cooked right... and perfectly sweet tea.. Not too sweet, not too "yankee"... Excellent!

Had a great lunch experience, food was very good and plenty of it. The customer service was EXCELLENT and the staff could not have been more helpful or attentive. Restroom facilities very clean and accessible. I would recommend you give it a try if you like southern home style cooking. You will not be disappointed. It is rumored that BJ Williams is frequently seen on the premises so bring your Kodak Instamatic to secure a photographic memory of a radio icon.

Cafeteria style of choose items for your tray and pay then sit at a table in the fairly large dining room. Most tables are long folding utility tables, some areas with two or three tables end to end in a large open dining room. Food is good though plain with a variety of meats and vegetables offerings. Think of an older Southern cafeteria. My family likes it because we can meet there at a somewhat central point for a meal and spend a few hours talking.

This cafe is not meant to compete with fancy, high priced restaurants. It is an excellent "down home", good food place with a friendly atmosphere. It is a cafeteria. Still, people come by to refill your drinks and ask if you need anything. We love going there. Wish we lived in Gainesville so we could go more often. Frances Hawkins Hoschton, GA

Paid 4.78 for 3 chicken tenders that were cold and tasted like they were freezer burned. Horrible waste of money and I didnt even get a drink. I could have gotten 2x as much at publix, for a better quality as well. A bunch of thieves if you ask me.

Is 4 to 5 meals a week too many times to eat here? I frequent the one between thompson bridge and cleveland hwy. Best fried chicken and greens... but has gotten a bit steep on prices, especially at nights. Liz and Sandy are great waitresses!!!

I enjoyed the breakfast here. Its buffet, pay and sit down style. Pay each time you go up. Things like eggs and sausage were good but the pancakes were a little tough. Overall, good food and friendly service.

Sometimes its really good, but often the place cruises based on its reputation from forever ago. The food is pretty good, and they are very proud of it! Sometimes feels like Im paying for a gourmet biscuit!

Hometown favorite! Been coming here since high school. My toddler loves to come here on our "date nights," and asks frequently to stop for a biscuit in the mornings.

They have a good selection of meats and vegetables and the vegetables are not overcooked like other places. The price is also a plus.
