Very disappointed in the owners attitude. I went there last night with my son looking forward to some good barbeque. I ordered a pork sandwich and my son ordered ribs. I watched for 6 minutes as our order sat in the serving window to get cold. When the food was delivered, the pork sandwich was cold as I figured, and the ribs my son ordered were very tough and not fully cooked. There was visible blood in the bone areas, and bloody meat. The portions of the meat that might have been partially done were so tough it was not chewable. The owner became very defensive and even brought over a sheet of paper about red smoke rings in barbecue, saying to my son, "read this and educate yourself about barbequed meat." He insisted that the meat was cooked to 160 degrees and continued to be verbally abusive to my son. Most sincere business owners want to keep customers, not insult them and drive them away. I have eaten there several times before and the food is always served cold, the fries are usually soggy, and there is always more noise and loud chit-chat coming from the food preparation area than the customer area. So unless you want cold raw food served by a bunch of overly noisy people, avoid this restaurant, and particularly this arrogant owner.

The Good: food taste good, came in a timely manner, waitress was very nice. The Bad: pork was cool, not cold but DEFINITELY not hot! Toast was drenched in butter...was not eatable! Fried pickles were room temp.... The Really Bad: We have eaten here several times recently and the quality goes down each time. Doubt we will be back!!!!! The REALLY REALLY BAD: the owner....was horrible to his staff, insulting them, telling them they did not know what they were doing and even stated "thats ok, we are going to get some new faces soon". He kept telling our waitress (Whitney) that she needs to stop standing around and get busy.....this sweet girl was busting her tail!!!!! The ONLY person I saw standing around the ENTIRE time we were there was the owner. I could not believe I was witnessing this while trying to eat my dinner.....it was very disturbing to say the least. There were other customers that were there but it was not crazy busy.....around 5:30pm. I am guessing the owner would not want some "guy/boss" talking to his daughter like that if he had one. Really disappointed that the owner was doing this in the presence of all the customers. Made me loose my appetite!

For a place called Happy Hawg, its weird that nobody seems to be very happy here. Rude bunch of folks running this place. Worst waitresses Ive seen in years. You would think theyre all depressed and mute. One man, who I can only assume is the owner, was very disrespectful to a few of his employees. Very unprofessional place. No good leadership skills were shown during my visit. If I go back, it would only be for a pick up order because its a very uncomfortable place to eat a meal in. The food is damn good though!! It really is! Thats their only saving grace as far as Im concerned. LIKE 1) The food 2) The decor 3) The music Do NOT like... 1) Extremely unwelcoming 2) Portion size on certain items 3) Everyones sour and rude attitude

My first time ever eating here few days ago... wasnt greeted at the door. Was not sure if we sat down or waited. They were not busy at all. After standing there for 10 minutes I finally figured out we had to order then be seated. You pay before you get your food so I had no way of leaving a tip for the waitress before knowing how my service was going to be. We was handed cups at the register and then told someone would bring us our food. I assumed we got our own drink... I was made aware we wasnt when the waitress came over and grab the cups out of our hands and said Ill get those. Food was ok not great. Waitress never smiled. I said thank you when she brought us our drinks she never acknowledged me or even looked at me.

Great BBQ restaurant with wonderful sides. The BBQ baked beans are amazing. Havent had anything bad here. Hickory fries never let me down, especially with their special hot sauce. Cant say enough great things about this place. Super friendly staff. One time on a to go order, they were short on the Brunswick stew, I didnt complain at all, I was completely fine with it. The owner compd me double the beans and reduced the price of my order. Incredible customer service. I couldnt let the good deed go uncomplimented, so I had to write a review and I did like most people would and paid it out in a good tip. You will love this place, try it and it will be your new regular BBQ restaurant.

Man, why you fooling around reading this, thats the best BBQ in town and, hey look they have moved to the shopping center next to walmart on 278 hiram, go eat, get the cornbread its not like any you had before, I can eat it as desert. This guy is going to be the Williams bros or the whoever of the future, hes focus and expects the best from his employees, you want a ribye go to wallaces but if you want some dirty south BBQ on a clean plate and it served by a pretty waitress this is the best around.

Loved it! Walked in the door and was greeted warmly. Asked questions about the menu and the young girl was extremely helpful. The food was wonderful! The ribs were WONDERFUL... The fried okra was to die for. The yellow jacket dogs and onion rings were great too. The best thing was the service. We highly recommend this place... Relaxed, fun atmosphere, great service and great food!

The staff was warm and friendly. The BBQ beans were the best I have ever had. The fresh cut fries were good the service was good. The only problem was the ribs. They were tough and seemed under cooked. The were very fatty and had very little edible meat.No one ask me how everything was and I didnt want to complain. I may try them again but get something besides the ribs.

Happy Hawg looks like pretty much every other BBQ joint. The BBQ is good and the portions are generous. Pulled pork had good flavor but was a little dry. The fries are steak cut and tasty but I really enjoyed the collard greens. Great flavor and just the right amount of spiciness. Fast and friendly service made our first visit a winner. Well be going back.

I love Barbecue and ever since I moved here I havent found the smoky goodness good barbecue gives you. The smoker in the back smell amazing, I love being able to hear the guy chipping up meat in the kitchen and the who staff is fun and kind. Their choices of sauces too can cater to the most snobbish of bbqers Carolina Gold is my favorite.
