Food is not as good as when they first opened. We spent over 30 dollars on pulled pork, baked beans and chips. The pork was bland and cold the baked beans was awful could not eat them and the chips we got 7 per container. This is the first time I have ever spent this much on food and was still hungry. Also they told us with a pound of pork would could only get a small container and it was 2.50 for each sauce. The guy at the counter was very short with us too! I will never go back again. That is way to much money for food that is cold and bland. Last time we went was close to closing time and had the same experience so I just thought that was because they were closing. The only time I have had a good experience was the first week they opened. Please dont waste your money here!

Just did a pickup ar the new location in Harrison Diner was very nice and clean and the staff was very helpful and polite I ordered the two plate combo (pork and brisket) with baked beans with the medium sauce which had a mild kick to it Meat was good... Good juicy texture and crisp outside... Brisket was a little dry but I did order half an hr before they closed so no complaints Bbqs were good, had meat mixed in with bbq and pinto beans I would give 5 stars if the smoke flavor was a little different... It wasnt bad but it was a little off for my personal taste Overall satisfied and will order there again

Went in to try this BBQ! I always order a Family Meal to go(Which they Dont even offer), in order to have a few meals in the future Although the Pulled Pork and Brisket are Excellent, the Burnt Ends were TOO Burnt(Like Chewing on CHARRED Coal) and the Price to PAY For BULK Sauce is utterly Ridiculous($5.49 per pint times 3 flavors) and who would have ever thought that the Mac and 3 cheeses was $9.99 for a Quart. The only good side is that, if history repeats itself, this High-Gross BBQ Place will be closed soon enough!

The customer service at this restaurant is asinine I do not think that any customer who pays their money should be treated they way that i was. They gave me a bag to bag my own meal they do not look me in my face they said my money on the counter they said my bank card on the counter they were just terribly rude I would never visit this place again. . I travel from Hyde Park to eat all the way over here they used to be in Cincinnati Ohio Im glad that theyre not there anymore

Were from Western Kentucky, they have Blues and BBQ festivals the way you see Greek and German festivals here... Im sorry, but the BBQ here just doesnt stack up... Until now. We tried the Judges Plate for a nice sampling of what Velvet offers. The meat was truly amazing. Thank you guys, for the best BBQ Ive had since leaving home nearly four years ago.

The best! Dont care for the baked beans, but I didnt go there to eat beans. Sauces are excellent. You go to the counter and order. When your food is ready, you go to the counter to pick it up. Tray is lined with paper. Utinsils are plastic. No frills. Great just to kick back and eat.

In full disclosure Im a Texas BBQ guy so saucing burnt ends doesnt compute. These particular burnt ends were cooked well, unfortunately they were kept under a heat lamp until I arrived so the pre-sauced meat was really dried out. Besides that, the flavor of the sauce was good.

Im from Memphis and Ive had BBQ all over the country. These burnt ends are some of the best meat in the country. Theyve earned all those trophies on the wall. Not crazy about the beans, its a really weird local style, but I highly recommend the Big Corkie, its a masterpiece.

It was very unsatisfing. The portions didnt match the price very well, sides are not that good. The younger lady working the cash register wasnt very friendly, didnt have a smile at all. Burnt ends were good, but food was cold. Overall not worth the price at all!

I really think people need to understand what good smoked meat is supposed to taste like. Well.. This is it! The complexity of their meats compared to other, more popular, places--is beyond comparison. If you want to taste REAL SMOKE go get yours at VELVET.

Locally owned and very delicious. Got the 2/2 plate with Pork & Chicken and out of this world flavor! The chicken is soft with a bite at the finish. Pork is robust, tender with a kick!.would Highly recommend

Burnt ends with the competition sauce is the best you can get anywhere. Brisket is so good it doesnt need any sauce. Darn good BBQ
