This place may have a great reputation. and people may come from miles around for there food. but there service is terrible, i made reservations at franks last night for 8 oclock. And i told the lady on the phone that it was our 27 wedding anniversary. She said that was great, and it was unusual nowadays to see people together that long, i said thank you, and me and my lovely wife prepared to have a great evening at franks. Its not that far from our house, and we arrived a little before 8. The lady at the front said she would get right on getting us a table , but to have a seat for a few moments. Ok , i figured a couple of minutes. Wrong, we sat at the front for almost 40 minutes. Um, i thought that if you made a reservation, you at least got seated in about 10 minutes. I recommend you dont make reservations , it doesnt help. So finally we get seated at a table. First thing i noticed is that all the other tables around us had there candle lit. It might not be a big thing, but i was looking for a little romance, you know. Then our server hands us a menu, i opened mine and its missing a page ( um why?). I dont know why but any way, i notice a table next to us, that has people sitting at it that came in after us. and they already have bread, and some sort of soup, while we sit there for at least another 15 minutes waiting on our server to take our order. anyway to make a long story short, the service sucked, no one said anything to us about our anniversary, and to top it all off the food was just so so. Better places to eat in or around fayetteville, dont waste your time. This place is overrated.Cost too much for there sorry service.

We celebrated a birthday at Franks at the Old Mill Mediterranean Restaurant last night. Franks has always impressed me, food has always been fantastic and service very attentive. Of course that was for parties of two to four. We had a party of ten last night everyone enjoyed their food. The back of the house was a solid 5 star. Service started on very strong. Our water was assisted by another server who took orders but did not know what the evening specials were. Further, he had to come back to the table to see if he got the appetizer order correct. After they sang Happy Birthday he stops back to shake my hand thanking me for my patronage and then left. Thats right, service at our table stopped once happy birthday was sung. We waited 10 minutes and no one came back to take our after dinner drinks, dessert, and coffee orders. How unwelcomed we felt. Our guests had to walk up to the front of the restaurant to view the desserts and make their selection. After I got the attention of our waiter he quickly took the remaining dessert orders. In addition I ordered an after dinner drink. He did not ask anyone else if they would like to have an after dinner drink and there was no Coffee service. The front of the house cheated the back of the house in the number of stars I believe Franks at the Old Mill Mediterranean Restaurant deserved. Over all three stars. Some training is needed.

Just wanted to say Thank You to the staff especially Donna and Christina and we had an AWESOME, DELICIOUS and EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. We have small children and have learned to go early for dinner when it is a Fine Dining situation to try and not disturb the other customers. The waiting area was decorated beautifully with Christmas decor and the fireplace was going and a really welcoming touch. The staff let us take pictures and even graciously offered to take a family picture, which will probably go out with our Xmas Cards. My wife had the Tilapia stuffed with Crab served with Greek Rice and Chicken Corn Chowder, she is from the Philippines and loves the rice, the chowder was delicious. I had the Veal Parmesan with Penne Pasta Milanese and Lamb Stew all Fabulous. The kids had the Cappellini Marinara and Fettuccine Alfredo which were 2 big plates each with enough to feed an adult. We were celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary and had a very nice #402 White Zinfandel and they brought a slice of cake ( I wish I knew what it was by name) three layers, dark chocolate and white chocolate cake with the third layer being a chocolate mousse with a white chocolate icing and whip cream with chocolate chips (HEAVEN on a plate).

I have been to Franks several times so didnt expect super fast service. The food and table views usually compensate for the wait but last night I was so disappointed that we left early. Our reservation was for 7:15 and we arrived on time even though we had to circle the parking lot and finally follow someone who was leaving to find a spot. The hostess said "we are running behind but are starting to seat 7:15 reservations" so we sat by the fireplace and had a drink. There were about 25 people at bar area waiting but after about 40 mins. there were about 50 people and you couldnt walk through or hear you name called for the noise. We went to check and were told "we are almost ready to seat you but it will be about 1hr and 1/2 before you get your food". That means we would eat at 9:30...we were seated about 10 mins later and saw at least a half dozen empty tables of various sizes. The waitress, Christine, began taking our order but after she took 2 or the 5 orders, she said that she needed to check on another table and walked away. After waiting for her to return for about 10 mins. we walked out, picked up dessert on the way out the door and went to Mellow Mushroom which was awesome.

I went to Franks for a birthday and the whole experience was a mess. Told the hostess we needed a table for 6 because 3 more people were on the way. When she called our name she said "I thought it was a table for 3" and we ended up waiting 40 minutes for "someone to clean a table" because of the hostess just not paying attention to us and/or deciding we didnt know how many people were in our own party. When we were finally seated we passed by many empty tables leaving us to wonder why it took so long for us to be seated. The waitress was just "ok" and messed up our salads (wrong dressing ect.) then took 15 minutes to get the salads right. We asked how many mini wellingtons came with the appetizer and the waitress told us there would be 8 and we received 6 (minor but shouldnt she know this??). When the entrees came the sides were also incorrect, but after the long wait on the salads we didnt even say anything. The deserts were good, but everything else was just "ok". I think management/owners need to take a hard look at their employees. Disinterested staff and mediocre chefs are ruining what could be an amazing restaurant.

First we tried to call ahead twice but no one answered the phone. It was a 45 min wait when we got there. I assume all these issues are from poor management and a badly run kitchen. I feel bad for the waiters because the food takes so long and the customers take it out on them thus likely the reason for high turnover and low staffing. While there, the folks next to us walked out and another table lost half their food because someone tripped and knocked the tray over. A complete circus that needs a good ring leader. The building itself is amazing, but come on, at least reupholster the booths so I dont scratch my legs up sitting down at the table in a skirt. The tables need to be refinished too. If your not in love with the building, I would highly recommend going to the one in Palmetto instead. Always have good service there and little wait. Plus at the one in Palmetto you get twice as much food for the same price. My chicken parm lasts 2 meals there. At this place, I had 3 tiny medallions of chicken with a small side dish of pasta for $20.
