El Toro’s service is very fast for a sit down restaurant. El Toro’s chicken Monster Burrito I love costs $11 (as of the last time I was there); it includes guacamole as part of the cost (unlike other chains). I often can’t eat the Monster Burrito all at once, and I can then enjoy the rest for lunch the next day! El Toro’s cheese sauce is amazing and they have FREE fresh chips and salsa. I like how the taste of the food varies a little, like the salsa ingredients seem to shift; sometime its a more spicy. I think that is a result of being fresh and not manufactured. This El Toros food overall is more spicy than other ones. Its a good change and allows me to order the same thing about every time without it getting old. Ive noticed the cheap meals with numbers in front are lower quality and I will no longer order them.

I went there while on business because it was close to the hotel. They have good food and some less than common choices like tamales. I ordered 2 tamales a la carte and they came out just right. Heres the kicker, and you might want to go there before the bottle is gone... I saw a lot of tequila on their shelf... There were a few bottles out of the way and somewhat obscured and I noticed a Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia and asked how must for a shot (its a sipper). The answer? $3.50. This stuff is in excess of $100/bottle. Its oak aged amazingness. Go! Go get it while its there! Where I live, a pour to Familia is at least $14 or more. Plus the folks I dealt with were al Mexican. That is the first sign of a decent Mexican place. Cheer!

Ordered fajitas for 2 to go and requested extra salsa. Nearly a $30 meal. They gave me 1 oz. of salsa and about 20 chips. Per the manager thats all they give per order no matter how many meals. I reminded her that I requested AND WAS CHARGED FOR extra salsa. She gave me 1 more oz container.... She said THIS TIME she could give me a few more chips at no extra charge. I said No THANKS!! I will not be back!!! Im not sure if the one in vandalia is the same owner, but theyre definitely much more pleasant and customer service oriented. This was my second disappointing visit. Will NOT be back.

Normally their food is great, and service is usually spot on. We went a couple days ago and it was TERRIBLE. I had hair in my taco, they didnt bring us what we ordered, they were short staffed, someone was having a birthday and instead of clapping and singing they bring out this EXTREMELY loud cracker that ticked off the entire restaurant, and people behind us ordered a fajita and when it came out it was so burnt the smell took over the whole restaurant. I would usually recommend this place but as of now I wouldnt send my worst enemy.

First I started with guacamole as an appetizer and it was okay but definitely not made on site. I got combo 29 which is a taco two enchiladas, rice and beans. The food was heavily seasoned and quite salty for my liking. When it came time to get a box and the bill it took my waiter 20 minutes to show up and give me the bill. Server was not friendly at all and from my observations he was serving one other table the restaurant was not busy. I do not recommend eating here for lunch if you only get an hour. I will not be returning.

Food was delicious. Waiter was wonderful however the table next to us was rowdy, using foul language, and once asked by wait staff to quiet down, became even more obnoxious and began tormenting the people around their table. Manager was totally ineffective in managing these people. Did not offer ANYTHING except the statement that there was nothing he could do. If you come here, make sure to find a quiet corner away from rowdy tables or your dining experience will be as horrible as ours was.

I have eaten here several times since opening. Usually and OK meal. However on 7-23-2013, we were grossly overcharged for our food. When the bill came, I thought it was a little high but figured the prices had risen. On the way out, I requested a men to take home. When I got in the car, I discovered we were charged $3.50 more for out food than listed on the menu! CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE PAYING!

Every time I come to eat here I order the Pollo Loco. Their guacamole is pretty good here, and I thoroughly enjoy their rice. My favorite part of the experience however is the chips and salsa! Their salsa uses fresh cilantro and it makes the flavor pop. I highly recommend this place over other local Mexican restaurants.

Visited Slyders with 2 co-workers on a Tuesday just after 1PM and this place was hopping! We got the last available table. Even though they were packed, we received great & friendly service. Between the 3 of us, we had a (small, they had two sizes) bacon cheeseburger, a chicken wrap, & a Reuben.
