These are the things that they need to fix or improve. Then I will up my score. The people are great but their awareness of cleanliness and other problems need help. First: Not clean, flies and open food dont mix... and there are a lot of flies. Decor is dirty from floor to ceiling, to trash on top of vending machines / fridge. Looking up is scary... Funky smell when you enter. Something is pungent - almost a rotting smell. May just be an ingredient, but it is a stinky one they need to control. Food is open all the time. Get some glass / plastic see through tops - especially with the flies. Makes me wonder what is going on when customers are not there... You can eat there - but I never noticed a waitress / waiter. But I DID notice a tip jar at the counter. Are they asking us to tip the cashier? FOR WHAT? Who tips a cashier? Get rid of that and only ask for tips when you have a wait staff. You can eat there - but it doesnt feel eat-in friendly. Feels like they rather you pick up and leave. There is a thing called a door. It should go right in that place where that sheet is. That blue sheet should be a kitchen door. I hope they fix these things and hopefully make the place better. I want them to improve. Perhaps there is a financial issue. In any case I hope they can improve.

Today (4/20/17) was my first visit & I cant find anything negative to say. I called before I came in and a man answered the phone. When I asked my question he passed the phone to an older lady and it sounded like he could have had an attitude, but it really wasnt important because she was nice. I caught the lunch special so my smothered pork chop, Mac and cheese, collard greens, and cornbread were $6.94. Definitely worth it. Everything was good surprisingly! Theyre right beside Dollar Tree. Pretty clean establishment. The food is ready-to-serve. I will definitely be back! I decided to go back today (4/21/17) and get the rib tip dinner, but Im not as happy with my visit as I was yesterday. The menu clearly says the dinner is served over rice, but the lady tells me only the beef tip dinner is. I started to go back simply because I want what the menu said Id get, but because the ribs have that bbq flavor rice isnt exactly necessary. On top of that, the bbq sauce they gave me is clearly ketchup and parsley or some type of herb sprinkled in. At first I thought it was marinara. I had to peel off the edges of the cornbread because they were burnt, but everything else tastes fine. Ill go back, but Ill be sure to refer to the menu if they try to withhold any more food from me!

I went to this restaurant and ordered a 2 piece catfish dinner, 30 minutes later I asked, "Why is my order not ready?" The lady taking the orders went in the cooking area to ask about my order. She came back and apologized because they had given my order to another customer. They did make good on the mistake. However, the following week I went back to order (two) 2 piece catfish dinners but they put order in for one dinner instead of two. I said, “okay fine! Just refund me for the second order. Unfortunately, they would not refund my money for the other order, which made me have to wait 30+ more minutes for the other catfish dinner. They have lost a customer for as long as they are in business and will tell of my awful experience to anyone who will listen.

Pleasantly surprised. I had meal here last night and didnt quite know what to expect of a restaurant attached to a gas station but once inside just before closing time the friendly staff made me feel right at home. There is an expansive menu to choose from but, as we were late arrivals, this Tuesday night few items remained of main entrees. The food was amazing. I had the smoked pork chops, Im telling you, they rolled my socks up and down. I highly recommend this restaurant, I will go back for a second try, this time Im starting with lunch and Im gonna stay for dinner.

First of all, I have no relation to the establishment, my coworker and I did make our lunch decision based on the name. That being said, the food was amazing. Ill admit I typically have low expectations for places attached to gas stations, but the staff was courteous, informative, and most importantly the food was just as delicious as it looked. I recommend giving them a shot if you like southern cooking.

I visited for the first time on 5/25/17. When I walked in the restaurant, it was hotter inside than it was outside (it was 85° outside). I walked up to the glass window and there were flies hovering over the food. The lady seemed as though she was irritated to serve me. I paid $12 for a plate and the food was disgusting. Never going back there again. Wouldnt feed that fly infested food to my dog.

The older lady who took my order was wonderful! However, the older dude/cook that came out the back had a horrible attitude. I would of even giving them the benefit of the doubt but the food was not very good. The smothered chicken was extremely bland, greens were sour and they had no BBQ? Bass BBQ? I will never step foot in that establishment again. I will keep spending with Big Daddys!!!

Ive become somewhat of a Sunday regular at the Ellenwood location. My sister told me about this place, she RAVED about the ribs & cornbread. I went, and the rest is history! I do feel as though theyre a bit pricey...which is why I did not rate them a 5. However, the food is consistent and so is the smile of the lady at the counter!

I want to like this place. I went there three times and even brought a friend with me. The food taste bland and it looks as if it were sitting out all day. Again, I really want to like them but I cant. Giving them 2 stars because the baked chicken is really tender but then again its probably because it sat there all day.

Great Tilapia, Blakeyed peas, cabbage, & cornbread! I do agree with the previous post about having lids to keep food covered but I totally disagee with the rest of his comments. I hope they stay busy & stick around. There can be a long line at lunch so make sure you have enough time on busy days.

I came in to try the Fried Chicken. They told me it would be a 10min wait. That turned into 30mins by this point I was beyond starving. I asked if I could get a refund. They told me I couldnt. Are you kidding me????? When I finally got home to eat the food it was so bland. Cafeteria food is better.

I stopped by Bass BBQ to have lunch. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean and the food was phenomenal. I had the chicken & dumplings, turnip greens and corn. It was a very generous portion and worth every penny. I cant wait to go back.

Excellent, way better than you or I can make at home. Not inexpensive, though likely worth the extra few dollars. Cornbread was rather unusual, yet the best Ive ever had. Am uploading photos of their menu, as of June 2016.
