We were in the. Decatur area and read the reviews. So. We anticipated great comfort Italian. We were starving and ordered crispy calamari . It was great just right, sauce was spicy, just right. We werent drinking, so ice cold water was perfect. The table was set with 5oz glasses. Way to small. Our waiter till fill our glasses at least 5x. I noticed water in old bottles was available on other tables. Dinner was served promptly. Chicken Marsala for the Hubby and Chicken Picasa for me. Each plate had 3 small thin pieces of chicken breast. It most likely was one large boneless skinless chicken breast, sliced lengthwise and then each half was crafted into 3 pieces. I kid you not. I have done that at my home, when I really had to stretch a chicken breast or 2. My pieces were thin, however my fork would not cut the chicken. It was tough. It also tasted blah. Like it had been frozen and microwaved. I was not eating that. Chicken Picasa is served with lemon slices, a great sauce and capers. I had 2 capers, no lemon or parsley. Sauce was mild and barely lemon. I was able to catch the hostess and returned the Chicken Picatta. I had paid extra $2.75 for a side of pomodoro spaghetti, instead of roasted potatoes . Since, it was okay, I requested Spaghetti and Meatballs . It was just okay. No visible tomato pieces, portion was small. Four meatballs were presented. Very tasty. Chicken Marsala had great flavor, but those same 3 little pieces of chicken. My husband enjoyed it, but he then ate 2 of my meatballs and the spaghetti portion of my first entree. We didnt order salad Caesar as it was $6.25. Garlic Bread service was offered at $3.95. The Pomodoro Sauce on the spaghetti side was the same "Tomato Sauce" as on my Dinner Entree $12.75. Our Waiter offered excellent service, for the 6 tables he was juggling. Pleasant and professional. When, he went to present our bill, he glanced at it and left with it. He returned and presented it to us. When we were almost home, I realized why he questioned it. It was HALF PRICE PASTA NIGHT !! My Spaghetti and Meatballs should have been $6.45 ! And the Hostess must have said No ! Attitude! !! I know this is long, but the quality of the food does not match the moderate prices with paltry portions of everything. Dont waste your money. PS. Restaurant is also non- Handicapped friendly. Stairs at both front doors. No handicapped parking or ramp from parking lot.

So, the foods great here. They have a very good deal on Mondays, half-off Pasta, that my girlfriend and I loved to take advantage of. The service has always been fine. Except tonight. Order goes cordially enough. Takes a bit for the hostess to get back to us, but it was a busy night, so no biggie. We only order bread service and an entree, mainly because Ive been sick and wines not great for the throat. It was from that point on that I felt like we were really underappreciated. The couple who was on the table right next to us got both their appetizer (the antipasto board) and their entrees well before us. We got our bread service as an afterthought. Right after the entrees. Id wager they completely forgot about it, because as soon as we asked for it, they got it out to us immediately, as if it had been sitting there the whole time. Heres the difference between the other table and us: they ordered alcohol, we didnt. And I realize that, on pure greed principle, you want to focus on the higher spending table, because thats where your higher dollar tip is coming from, but to make it so obvious that you didnt care about me or mine? Its insulting. No, we didnt look as nice as the other couple, but if your bartender or your hostess had spent even half the time chatting and looking out for our table as you did the other (you even gave them complimentary drinks!), youd still have our loyalty right now. If youd have at least paid attention to our water glasses, Id be disappointed but probably would have come back. It was bone dry, no refills until we asked for our check. So, no, I dont recommend this place. You get service if you look like youre a money bag. You get ignored if you dont.

This review is for the Groupon special. I read other reviews and really wanted to like this place. But I just cant. The Groupon deal is hard to beat - 3 course meal with wines for TWO for $49. The appetizer, specifically the polenta, was not good at all, though the salmon wasnt bad. The steak I had with the main course was AWFUL (tough, lots of fat). The au gratin potatoes were greasy and tasteless. My wife had the pork tenderloin and it was decent. The dessert was okay but a bit small. Now for the service: Our server was playing both server and hostess to EVERYONE dining that night (there were maybe 6 tables). She was a sweetheart and did the best she could but I think she was just overworked. As a result everything was slow. Wines came after meals were served, and the whole experience was LONG. We were a party of two, and a party of 3 came after us and left before we were even served dessert. So yeah... nice looking place but I dont think well be back.

Last night we were on our way to Mason Tavern for a drink and saw that the patio was almost empty at Villaggio. They had a musician with almost no audience so, feeling sorry for him, we went there instead. The guitarist was really excellent, a young guy with an amazing voice doing Fleetwood Mac and Billy Joel to Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews. Anyway, by the time we left around 9 the patio was almost full but the inside remained empty the whole time. Ive eaten here once and will def go back because the pizza is superb and now Im worried that they are going to go out of business. Highly recommend

The food was decent, service was decent, atmosphere ok. Unfortunately, none of that really mattered because of the overwhelming, and I do mean overwhelming, cleaning fluid fumes. As soon as we walked in the door it hit us right in the face. We thought maybe they just mopped, but no, it was overpowering the entire time. You could not even smell the food. We lost our appetites and left with a headache. The food etc. was not memorable enough to give it a second chance. Sorry folks, but that was our experience.

OMG where do I start! The atmosphere and ambience of this place is excellent. The staff is wonderful and very informative about the menu. The soft music is just the right volume to have a great conversation. The wine list is versatile and should have something most can enjoy. The spinach and artichoke dip is fantastic, had the mushroom risotto, some of the best... main course was Angel hair pasta with sundried tomatoes, wilted spinach and artichoke hearts. A MUST TRY kinda place. Prices are enjoyable too.

Went there about a year ago and was really disappointed. Have been back last winter and thought the place was much improved, the food was great but prices a bit high. Went again this week and the place has lowered the prices. The food was great, we got some undercooked potatoes, but the rest of the food was excellent and authentic to Italian cuisine. If my next visit is just as good, will probably increase to 5 stars.
