Normally we thoroughly enjoy the food here and know Ruen Thai as the best Thai food available of the Thai restaurants we have been to in the Habersham/White County areas. There is one we have not been to in Helen yet but this is a review of Ruen Thai. As preface to my review let me say that it cannot be stressed enough that in the service business, the little things make the biggest impression. Tonight my "brother from another mother" took me and my wife out and treated us to celebrate my wifes and my 15th year anniversary. We are very partial to good Thai food and having known Ruen Thai as a very good place to meet this need.we looked forward to a wonderful night. My Duck Curry was good and my brothers Fhur was good. My wifes Panang Curry (requested with extra veggies and no shrooms) had very few veggies and mushrooms. We suspect the cook(s) was not up on their game tonight. I asked for a lot of extra lemons and was only given 3 small slices. I asked again twice but went unheeded. To their credit they were beginning to get busy but I believe I may have to start bringing my own lemons to get satisfaction. All in all, we will return and look forward to posting a new or amended review with improved marks.

For the longest time this place pissed me off. That is until one day the waitresses suggested ordering 8-10 star spicy. My problem was that I was always ordering five star spicy, and it just seemed weak. I even said, please bring it out native Thai. I want to incinerate my guts. Still it was weak. Thats frustrating beyond belief. I never have a problem requesting mega hot from other Thai places. So, the trick here is to double the heat scale, if you really love it hot. Now Im happy camper.

Heres the thing, the food gets more than 5 stars but the service is terrible. LOL we eat here atleast once per week and LOVE THE FOOD. We crave it! so good! sadly the service is TERRRRRIBLE but the food is so good we will frequent the place anyway. The young man is the best server. The old ladynis thw worse. MUST TRY THIS PLACE.... juat expect to wait wait wait and things might gwt mixed up a little.

Great food. Terrible service! We had a party of 8 and were there for 3 hours. Took an hour to get food, waitress was mostly absent, and it took us over an hour to get and pay the check (were not properly split up and waitress seemed completely oblivious and unable to do her job). We asked for the manager and she told us she is the manager. Have several hours to spare if you plan on eating here.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is so flavorful and delicious. The staff is very friendly. Their curries are my favorite. It can have a bit of a wait time when they are busy, but it is well worth it!

Ruen Thai is a must stop if you love good Thai food at a reasonable price. The service is fast and friendly. The food is always served hot, and the decor is just so cute, if a bit old. I always love this place.

I agree with all these reviews. As good, if not better, than any of the many Atlanta places I frequented. Perfect Pad Thai. This has been our greatest restaurant find since we moved to North Georgia.

Our second time here. The Green curry Beef & Red Curry Chicken were delicious as the Thai tea and veggie spring rolls. Ambiance was okay, however could be improved with some music.

Started with Basil Springs rolls (just right), coconut soup and finish with Panang Tofu Curry. The Sweet coconut sauce served with entree was the delight that will bring me back.

So, so good. We eat here all the time now. Expertly prepared food and a cute atmosphere. Better than the Thai places in Atlanta. Make the effort, you wont be disappointed.
