We ordered dinner last night and it was very, very bad!!! The Almond Chicken was dry and burned. And the Sesame Chicken was over cooked and tough. And no broccoli in it. The egg rolls were old. The only good thing about our dinner was the rolls... I hate to say it but I have had more than one bad experience there. So last night was our last time to go there. And every time we come in to pick up our order they act like we are inconveniencing them so we wont do it again. I find very interesting that you admit that we have called several times to complain. And yet it still keeps happening. I also find it funny you know exactly who we are and our complaints yet they have never been addressed. And the quality of the food just isnt there. I would recommend to your customers to go to The New Royal Wall in Wixom. There food is great and customer service is outstanding!!! You could take a lesson from them...They treat there customers with respect and correct there mistakes when made.

Ive been going to Boon Kai for almost 12 years now. Its got amazing take-out food. The waitress is almost always the same and shes very polite and quick. However, the lack of other servers can sometimes cause a larger wait. I eat there nearly every month and the Sweet and Sour chicken is my favorite, along with almost all of my friends. The egg rolls are the best, unlike any I have had elsewhere. Though because of the difference they may not be to everyones tastes. The portions are amazing for the price. Sweet and Sour chicken, Wonton soup, an eggroll, pork fried rice, a sweet bread loaf, and tea for 5.83 on the lunch special and I still always have leftovers. (All that would be about $8-9 with much larger portions after the lunch specials are over) The interior is rather shabby, and if this offends you just order take-out. It has kind of become endearing to me over the years but I can see why it could make the newcomer uncomfortable.

Love Boon kai found this place after living here over 6 years and having rotten Chinese food dont listen to the other reviews looks like they are looking for an upscale Chinese restaurant ! Boon kai is among our weekly or bi weekly take out places love my almond chicken and my eggroll I actually think my mother just ordered takeout from there tonight to bring over ! My picky 8 yr old loves the sweet and sour chicken ! I dont really get what all the bad reviews are about its gotta be picky people looking for upscale ! Because seriously Ive never had an issue they are always prompt and very friendly and food is good ! Read the menu to find out what your dish has in it instead of writing a nasty review bashing a business ! Just sayin

Awful, Awful, Awful. I wouldnt feed the food that was presented to us to my dog. Ordered fried rice, kung pao chicken, Mongolian beef. The fried rice had no vegetables, was greasy, and if the pieces of chicken were actually chicken then I am Brad Pitt. Same goes for the Kung pao. The chicken must have come from Bulgaria. Took one bite of the beef and dumped it in the trash. I used to eat at Boon Kai twenty years ago and it was great. Moved out of town and returned last year to Wolverine Lake. The place has gone so far down hill that I am amazed it is still open.

I tried this place 2 times and the chicken is always over cooked and is dry. Prices are cheap but the food is "ok" boring fried rice. Not much veggies. Not sure if I would try or recommend. Just to make sure it wasnt a fluke, I tried it again, and this time it wasnt boring, It was awful. I will not go there again. If you read the reviews, most of the positive ones are from people that have been going there for years, or "grew up" eating Boon Kai. My recommendation, broaden your horizons and try something new. Youll be amazed on what else is out there.

15 years going here and still the best around....love the egg foo young, peking spring chicken, almond chicken, chow mein, soups, crab rangoon...ive been around the world so its not like im some Michigan hick that doesnt know good food as another reviewer infers...there may be better chinese restaurants out there but in the wixom/commerce area this one is the best and they redecorated in 2016 for those that care about chinese restaurant decor...we alway order carry-out anyway. They close in early July for a week or two for holiday.

I absolutely love this place. I have been eating boon kai since my parents would order dinner here for the family since I was about 4 years old. Its is so delicious nothing else compares. I now live in Arizona and Everytime I come back to visit like tonight, parents ask what I would like to eat, instant reply is always boon kai. There is a reason why this place has been in business for over 20 years. Thanks for feeding me :)

I have ordered food from here 3 times now and it has been fantastic. I always order their egg rolls and make sure there is no shrimp because my husband will die due to his allergy. This past time, I ordered the egg rolls and made sure there was no shrimp. When I brought the food home I cut into the egg rolls to check before I served them and I saw shrimp in them. Glad I always check before serving egg rolls.

Tried this restaurant for the 1st time tonight,,,,will not try again,,,,ordered general tso chicken, it was absolutely inedible. The chicken was rubbery and had a lot of thick tendons or something running through it. Also the chicken fried rice was awful as well, the chicken in the rice was dry and tasted low quality. Will NEVER eat here again, threw dinner in the trash. Negative 1 star!

Pleasantly surprised. The food was a lot better than expected even though the decor seemed less than great and the hostess was frazzled seeming. The crab rangoons werent what Ive come to expect but very good: light and crispy but q little on the small side. Got the steak kow with white rice and it had a very slight charred taste which I liked. Will come again for sure.

I used to go to this place for 10 years for carry out. Slowly the quality of the food has gone down to the point I know longer spend my money there, when at one time I had them on my contact list. I think they make food in advance of orders so it is hit and miss as to freshness. I now go to China king on carrol lake and commerce and they make the food to your order.

Vegetable lo mein had no broccoli and barely any other veggies only green peppers and slivers of carrots.to top it off it did not have lo mein noodles. Vegetable fried rice was very odd as if the rice had been ground up. Same as the lo mein...no veggies to speak of.. Not the first time for food like this. Will be the last.

My whole family has been coming here our whole lives and we absolutely love the food and staff! You get a ton of food for a very reasonable price! The chicken lo mein and sweet and sour chicken are delicious! Soups, egg rolls and bread rolls are to die for! Love this place and will pass down the tradition for generations!
