I absolutely recommend this restaurant, we have been every year for my moms bd. We all enjoy it, everyone has always treated us like we where only ones there, very nice and make sure you enjoy ur meal. Most places still want u to order from Childs menu when u dine , she is 3 and picky doesnt eat enough for me to buy a plate. They had absolutely NO problem giving her the extra on grill. Although I believe we had new chef and mistakes where made, he was great, friendly, and he had my daughter amazed. We really enjoyed our meal! Not only BC she was occupied and we got to sit and enjoy eating but awesome atmosphere, food was great and Ive never been treated with the smiles and service we got. After reading one of the reviews I was saddened BC you go to a place Alot and always enjoy it, go one time and have 1 bad experience and rate the place as bad. Thats sad, I waitressed and I always did my best, some days customers had bad days, Somedays I had them. But in my opinion u should rate on over all visits not just one bad experience or person, you could ruin a great place BC you or someone else was having a bad day! I have NEVER posted anything in internet or rated anything , SO AFTER READING that review I decided to Rate them on all my experiences. Hoping that it will help BC the way things are Rt now one person could shut a place down. Just hope this makes ppl think , dont give a bad rating on one experience. put yourself in there place, talk to manager let them resolve the problem. It could be you are them where having a bad day. If not that case manager is there to talk to some time , they are responsible and it is their job to make sure issues are resolved. If I rated every place I went into on one bad experience. Everyone would be out of business. Just my opinion .... I am trusting them with a party of 30 ppl , I havent felt that comfortable with any RESTAURANT ever with good service and food. THAT SAYS ALOT!!

Ive been to Okinawa Restaurant a couple times before and It was okay, decent service and quality. My last visit was very disappointing.! It took well over 45 minutes to sit me and a friend down understandably because they had been busy. My issue is that we had arrived tuesday night for dollar draft and sushi at 7:30. As I was waiting I had asked if we would get the dollar sushi knowing It ended at 8:30, she had said if we were sat down by then, we would get it. We finally got sat down at 8:15 or so, waiter took our drink orders, and I asked for a pen to write down which sushi I desired. He didnt come back within 10 minutes so I took it to him... Thats a no no in the food industry. He was rude knowing I wanted sushi and them closing the sushi bar soon. Another 15 minutes went by (keep in mind its about 8:40 by now) and he brought over the manager to explain to me the sushi bar was closed. Had the waiter told me that earlier, id partially understand. I was very irritated at this point, so I had told the manager just to forget about it. I dont ask for handouts nor often expect them but deemed it appropriate to get one after that nights service, so much for a discount as the meal was full price and not one discount. Also another thing that was an issue was that they overcrowded the hibachi bar, i was squeezed by people I didnt know. It was a miserable experience to say the least and have no intentions of going back!

Ill give two stars because the food isnt bad and the waiters have always been good. My main complaint is that the food quality has gone down in recent years and that Ive had very poor customer service. Their policy is that to get any of their special prices you have to dine in. Usually when I get food at a restaurant I get it to go for me and mom. I called early this year and asked if I could get the 50 percent off hibachi deal if I ordered to go and explained that I needed to order takeout because my mother is disabled. They said they make no exceptions. This is the main reason I rarely ever get food from them. I dont feel like it is fair to be charged double because I get orders to go. Tonight my mom and I really wanted sushi and I knew they had a dollar sushi special on Tuesdays. My first annoyance was even though the price used to be a dollar for each roll and the sushi menu still says dollar sushi, on the side of the menu it says the price is now $1.50. I ordered a lot of sushi, then boxed it up and asked for my bill. The waitress was annoyed and told me this was a one time exception and I was not allowed to do it again. A woman who I assume was the manager actually glared at me as I got my bill. To put it mildly Im very disappointed in their customer service.

Went there hoping for an amazing hibachi dinner with me friends, once I entered it was a complete turn off and it made me want to leave, but the light up sign outside said $1 sushi might as well give it a try. We were seating at the hibachi table and the waitress took our orders, she didnt even mention the sushi deal, that was probably best since the inside of the restaurant made me lose my appetite. Then she mixed up the drinks we ordered and misheard some of the food orders. The chef wasnt terrible but I was hoping for a better show, he seemed more like, "My last meal I have to cook for the night then I get to leave and go home." The friend rice was good (but only with the yum yum sauce) and the meat was hot but needed the yum yum sauce as well to be eaten. As we were finishing up our meals and paying separate checks the staff was right behind us and I could overhear them talking about how they couldnt wait for us to leave. That is the last time I am ever going there, the 5 guys right next door seemed more appealing that this place.

My family (5 members) went to eat lunch. We were all seated and had already ordered and were eating salad and soup when a lady and kid came in, and they set them at the table with us. The lady ordered shrimp. My mother is allergic to shrimp. We asked to be moved to another table and were told no, and then, we asked could the ladys food be cooked last. They said no once again. We were informed at that time their policy was to cook the persons food with allergies in the back. It seems like punishment or discrimination to me that a person whos allergic to food is left out of the meal. Needless to say we got our check and left and will not be going back there. The Kani House in Woodstock accommodates people with allergies and doesnt make them have their food cooked in the back, and they ask you several times before you order if anyone has an allergy.
