I went with Cameron who did the previous review. It was my first time back in about a year and I was surprised at how bad the quality of food got. I ordered a lunch sushi with two different rolls and they came out looking fine. The taste was nonexistent. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura roll. When I asked the server if there was something that could be done or if I could just get a different meal instead, she said no to replacing my order and offered to give me eel sauce and spicy mayo on the side to give it some kick. Ive tried most sushi places around Orlando already, but this was probably the worse in terms of taste and service. Spicy tuna should at least have a bit of the spicy or some sort of tuna flavoring, but I was just paying money to eat textured food. I gave it a try with the sauce the waitress brought, but nothing changed except now I was eating spicy mayo with rice and tuna bits. I know that sushi isnt meant to be eaten coated with sauce. It should have its own distinct taste. Even the rice didnt taste any different than rice I make at home. The waitress went so far as to ask me if Ive ever eaten sushi before. I had about 5 of the 16 pieces before it just sat there on my plate while watching my companion eat his bento box for the next 20minutes. I was completely dissatisfied with my meal and honestly the waitress and the cook didnt seem to care (we sat next to the sushi bar area, I could watch them talk about the situation). There was no real sincere apology or efforts to make amends. Each "oh yes sorry" lasted .5 seconds before she walked away to return 5 minutes later. I didnt want a free meal, I just wanted something worth paying for. I dont want to be patronized asking if Ive ever eaten sushi before/asking if they can do something and turn around to tell me they basically cant, or be told that tempura tastes like nothing. Ive eaten enough tempura to know that it does have a taste and even shrimp cooked by itself has a taste. I wish this place cared enough to even try to convince me that this was just a fluke. My family has owned a small restaurant for 15 years. I can understand completely the whole family business idea and working hard with a smaller budget, but this was just hardly working. I wouldnt have minded if I had to pay extra for a different meal all together. The fact is, I asked if I could have a pork katsu and was flat out refused. If the owners really cared, maybe they should have considered stepping out to explain their situation. Honestly, I was really upset and uncomfortable about the whole thing. Overall, I paid 12 bucks for a lesson learned. I wont be coming back, and I think that was the best part about the visit.

Came in looking for fresh healthy dinner (the menu says no MSG, coloring or lard). Turns out it was much better than I had hoped for! The assorted sashimi plate I ordered was the freshest Ive had for a long time since Japan. I especially liked the white tuna sashimi which was better than the traditional tuna. All sets seem to come with salad, rice and soup to make it quite a filling meal. The rice has sesame on it which adds extra taste compared to plain japanese rice. Jim, who is the sushi chef, is actually a very health conscious person who has a passion for creating great vegetarian dishes as well! He is very mindful for those who are vegetarian with separate utensil/gloves/cooking for preparing vegetarian dishes vs. those with meat. After hearing about his passion, I decided to order a vegetable dish which Jim graciously prepared using a new stir-fry cooking technique that doesnt need oil! It tasted amazing and was definitely not oily. Those who are interested should speak with Jim about it. If I were staying longer in Orlando I would love to join his healthy cooking classes, will definitely come back next time! Overall, a great tasty, healthy family-owned place to dine. Highly recommend giving it a try and getting to know Jim for healthy meals and new cooking techniques.

I absolutely love this place! I would sleep here if I could (.. maybe not, but you get it.) I bring someone new every time I go, and they all love it. Im actually picking up some takeout tonight. :) Kiko is the most vegetarian friendly restaurant that Ive ever come across, aside from strictly vegetarian places. They have an entire menu dedicated to vegetarian options, and theyre all incredibly delicious! Im a vegetarian, and I have non-vegetarian friends who Ive experimented on, and they feel that a lot of the vegetarian items taste like meat! The veg. beef skewers are ALWAYS a big hit, and I get them every time I go! They truly treat you like family here. They know what I want before I even order, and make things how I like them without even asking. (ie, I never really ate the veggies on the skewers, so they started making them without the veggies, and they still do to this day, without me asking for it.) Youre always greeted with a friendly smile and wave by everyone, and they all say goodbye. The food is always great and prepared perfectly. These are truly wonderful people making wonderful food, and at an amazing price, too! I always over-order every time I come in, and thats perfectly fine with me. Ill definitely always be back. :)

I heard this place from a friend very long time ago, but never got the chance to try it out. Until last week, i was in the neighborhood so i decide to give a try. i didnt expect high, but Kiko Wowed me. This place is so peaceful, very soothing Japanese music play in the back ground, and very clean, ac was not so cold, just the right temperature for me. A girl greeted me and set me down, then brought me 3 menus, one is lunch menu with bento boxes and sushi lunch combo, a Ramen noodle menu and a Sushi list. i personally is a big fan of ramen, but on that day i felt sushi is what i want. So i ordered two rolls from the sushi list, Kiko Special Roll and Executive Roll. They were Amazing! i have been eating sushi for ten years, but this is the best sushi i ever had! the fish were fresh, rice were cooked right, roll sized well and they just over all so good! i was so satisfied, and i will be back for more sushi! i want to try every single roll on their menu and the Ramen. The server was really nice and attentive, I would definite recommend this place to my friends or any one love quality sushi!

I went to Kiko for the first time today and loved it. The steamed gyoza was the best Ive ever had, and it was happy hour so I got six pieces for only $4. [IIRC, happy hour is 3-6pm Mon-Sat] The sushi roll was great, too. Service was awesome. The waiter offered to bring me sauces for the sushi. I was indecisive (which I know can be annoying for servers) but he just responded by happily bringing me two sauces for me to try. He was friendly and checked on us often to see if we needed anything. My drink was never empty even though I drank like 5 cups of water he just kept refilling it before I could get to the bottom. Super attentive! My friend got the chicken teriyaki (only $11 during happy hour, for quite a good portion). It was delicious. The decor was lovely and even though the place is small, I felt like they put a lot of effort into making it feel nice. Ill definitely be back! Hopefully soon!
