My Order: - Papadum - Vegetable Curry - Vegetable Korma - Garlic Naan My Review (1-5 stars): - Papadum (1 star): Only two peaces. Would have liked at least 4. Seems a bit stingy. And the dipping sauce was horrible. They served the tamarind chutney and some mayo looking sauce. The tamarind was as expected...Im just not a fan of it. The other mayo looking thing was horrible. I would have at least expected the red chutney...but thats not an option there. - Vegetable Curry (4 stars): Not my preference, but it was good. - Vegetable Korma (3 stars): Not sure what its supposed to taste like, but it had no taste to me. Very bland. - Garlic Naan (5 stars): Kinda hard to screw up garlic naan. - Rice portion (3.5): Would have liked a bit more rice...again...seemed stingy. On a side note, would be nice if they included some of the more popular dishes like Chicken Makhani and a veggie version of that as well. So, overall I give this a 2 stars. Maybe my next experience will be better and Ill change my review.

Its great to have one place in St. Augustine that serves very good authentic Indian food! I spent a lot of time in India so its a nice blast from the past when I step into this restaurant. The family that runs the business is nice and hard working, the food is very good with all the standard dishes on offer. While the ambiguous signage on the outside can be confusing and leave you wondering "why dont they just take down the wrong sign?" it speaks to the truly authentic Indian nature of the place. A buffet is available during lunch hours and only cooked to order food available in the evenings. I would give a five star rating if they had proper Indian Chai. How can an Indian restaurant not have the one drink that is quintessentially Indian? Help keep this place in business and give them your support!

For someplace that is so weird, it sure does have sensational and authentic Indian food. We stopped in on a Tuesday and skipped the excellent buffet (everything but the tandoori chicken looked fabulous) for a mess of takeout. They made everything fresh to order, everything using their own spice mix and everything cooked to perfection, with delicate flavors and some real burn on the vindaloo. Among the best Ive had outside India. Real naan, their own poppadom (which, OK, were a little soft) ... everything was delicious. The prices are a tad on the high side, but youre getting quality. The atmosphere in the restaurant is mid-70s high school cafeteria, and the service polite, friendly and helpful if not exactly cheerful. Very, very good stuff, we will be back very soon.

I have eaten at many Indian restaurants all over the country. Not impressed with the food at this place. Not. At. All. The lassie was a cup full of orange colored yogurt. Saag had no flavor. Fresh Express Shreds for a simple salad. I prefer naan over pita, personally, when eating Indian cuisine. I did not recognize a lentil, or a lentil shell in the Dal. Rice was hard. I really wanted this to be delicious, but it just was not. If this is the only Indian restaurant in St. Augustine, I understand why people might disagree with me. Its hard for any restaurant in St. Augustine to stay open for as long as this place has been here. I suppose I am spoiled by Amar India in Centerville, Ohio, or the Taj Mahal in Honolulu.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in St. Augustine. Best Indian food I have had to date. The atmosphere is relaxing, inviting and clean, the service is friendly and prompt, and the food is absolutely delicious. From their richly flavorful Tandoori, to their elegantly creamy and coconutty Korma, Namastes culinary excellence is sure to not disappoint. We have sampled almost their entire menu and have enjoyed every dish! If you are looking for a locally owned, delicious, healthful and exciting menu with a vast amount of gluten free options- look no further, and treat your taste buds to an exciting find in St Augustines own back yard!!

So discourteous that we didnt even order food. The man in the front desk didnt allow us to change diaper or even throw diaper in his restaurant. He followed us to our table to make sure we werent using his premise for doing the same. I cannot believe and have never seen someone objecting a diaper change. Blacklisted . If I could I would give negative rating to this place. When we decided to leave due to his horrible behavior, he didnt care and never tried once to apologise or stop us. When someone cant respect people with kids, I dont know who can he respect in this world.

This restaurant has never disappointed us in the year and half weve eaten here. The Mediterranean food was very good, but the Indian food they serve now is extremely good. The lamb saag was delicious, and the tandoori chicken was very, very good. Weve had the Indian buffet, and it, too, is quite worth the trip. Prices seem to have increased since we last ate here, but if the quality of the food remains high then it will be worth it. The decor is plain, so dont come for the atmosphere. Just come for the food. A family-run place that makes very good quality Indian food.

I have been to all kinds of Indian restaurants, and this is the first time I am compelled to write a review. Ordered a takeout of a Paneer dish and Bhindi Curry. My kids outright refused to eat and preferred to sleep hungry. The Paneer curry was like Tomato soup cooked Indian style with lots of sugar added. Bhindi curry was also most tasteless. It felt that they are using frozen ingredients like Paneer and Bhindi. The real shame is that the customers who are mostly non Indians are getting to taste horrible food.

I am so excited to finally have a proper Indian restaurant in town. I am a "Northtowner" so I rarely venture South of 312 but when I do I work in a stop to Nameste. The food is taste and the staff is fantastic. This is not Chillis or Outback - this is a mom and pop restaurant where pop is in the kitchen and mom is serving you hot Naan. A part of me wishes they had a larger selection for the buffet but everything that they were serving was on point! Thrilled you are here Nameste - keep up the great work!

Disappointed in the fact that the sign on the door states it opens @ 11:00AM and there were 3 people standing outside waiting but the door was locked. There was no one inside. Suddenly @ 10 min after 11:00, the owner pulled up with four of his staff (LATE) and therefore there was no food prepared or ready to serve. They should have been there long before opening time in order to be ready for customers. The buffet was flavorless. The rice pudding was watered down and tasted awful. :(

Honestly this place does not look appealing from the outside, but hands down the best indian food Ive eaten. I drive down from Jacksonville to eat here for special occasions. Read complaints about rude service but have no idea where its coming from. If anything the staff was overly friendly, making sure everything was satisfactory every five minutes. But to be fair its usually a slow night when I visit.
