My daughter and I decided to take a drive from Jacksonville Beach to St Augustine Beach and we came across The Oasis, a place I had frequented often some time ago, when I lived in Crescent Beach. And let me say, it is Not the Oasis I remember it to be! We were given dirty menus to start with. The floors were sticky and it smelled like dirty socks. We ordered a hamburger and fries and a dozen steamed oysters, which Oasis was once known for. The hamburger and fries platter came out first and it came out hot and fresh. We were sharing that when the oysters came out. They looked good, but when we went to start eating them, my daughter and I noticed a long, black hair right in the middle of them. Since were both blondes, we knew it wasnt our hair and we couldnt bring ourselves to eat them after seeing the hair. We informed our waitress, Sam, and she graciously went to take them off our bill. However, about 5 minutes later, I was startled by a little man who walked up on us rather quickly twirling a piece of hair between his fingers. He mentioned that he was the manager and that this piece of hair came from one of our heads, not one of his staff, insinuating that we had placed our hair in our Food to get out of paying? It was ridiculously awkward, especially when my daughter and I love Oysters. In as much as he was rude, he stated he would take it off. Afterwards, our server, Sam, showed up with our bill and we told her about the exchange between "Hoover, the manager" and us. She laughed and stated that she didnt doubt that he did that, but that she had to go through him to delete the item from the check. She was professional and courteous and if there is Ever a Manager to learn from a Server, it is Hoover that needs to learn from his server, Sam, about Hospitality! This place is a Dump now and it resembles Nothing of the Oasis I used to frequent. I would NEVER refer anyone to eat here and I will Never return to this establishment!

Always drove by this place and saw a bunch of cars there and figure to finally give it a try one night. Lets just say our experience was a NIGHTMARE. It began by us seating ourselves and not being noticed because they seemed to short staff and overwhelmed to the fullest. We ordered our drinks, which i tried some recommend mango drink that I swear had no alcohol whatsoever. We ordered apps and always wanted to try fried gator. I have seen it before and what we got just looked disgusting. It looked like a smashed chicken cutlet, with some parts being dark brown meat and then others being white, nothing like I had ever seen. Even my friend whom eats gator all the time said it was like no gator she has ever had and it was just plain gross. With this place being "The Oasis" and right off from the beach we figured they would have plenty of fresh seafood entres for Good Friday. God were we wrong. I ordered a dish that was 18$ figuring ide treat myself to something nice for the holiday and was served complete garbage, literally! When I bit into the fish it was complete mush, like fried applesauce. They took and back and next thing you know I am sent a manager lecturing me it is a soft fish. Well then you should know better than to fry it because it only turned softer and mushier! When we asked what the "fresh" fish was we were told SWAI FISH, which is caught out in Asia and one of the CHEAPEAST fish you can buy. I never even heard of this fish before and coming from a beach restaurant why are you saying you have fresh fish that is coming from Asia!? Then you try to charge me 18$ for it when they self it for 3$ a pound!!!!!! I was so mad they are trying to fool you here by charging you an extreme amount for the grossest fish you can buy. Needless to say we will never go back there. What a shame.

Very disappointed in the food quality. I have frequented this establishment for years and it has always been great. HOWEVER, last night it went down hill. I ordered the same thing I always do, hot wings and curly fries. The wings were falling off the bone, had a weird coating on them and tasted as if they had been sitting out all day and reheated for my order. They also were about half the size as they normally are. My order of fries also seemed to be cut in half as it always feeds two people and was only enough for 1 this time. They have also decreased their ranch cups to about 1/3 of what they used to be. That meal was a WASTE of $25. I dont know if they got new management or what happened. But I will not be going back.

This place sucks, unless youre a drunk that only cares about liquor. .upstairs is at least a but more interesting but had to sit down stairs which feels like one of those back rooms at an overcrowded bingo parlor. .food tasted fine "chicken Philly" but was skimpy at best and for 10 bucks should have come with fries (doesnt) or chips at least. and Im no snob but can I get a waiter or waitress that doesnt look like a sloppy half-loaded patron! That was pleasant enough but didnt look neat enough to be serving drinks let alone my food..and did I mention that he stood next to my table for practically the who meal staring at the tv!!!

While Oasis has a very pleasant vibe and atmosphere, its food is subpar. If it is "World Famous", that usually means that the food exceeds expectation and that the restraurant wants to be held to a higher expectation. The food is fairly lousy, the gator tail, which I ordered as an app. was dry and rubbery, and even some portions of the meat not cooked all the way. The same went for the main course, philly cheese steak with fries, which the fries were very soggy and barely cooked, on top of a sandwich that had about 5 onions worth between its buns. I do not recommed this place for your next beach "oasis".

We went here the first night of our vacation late at night for a drink, and the decor is not so nice and the drinks a little watered down. So we were reluctant to eat there the next day. WELLLLL we were suprised, yes it is casual but the good is well prepared and tasty. The service great, they did not let us go without a drink or make sure we were ok. I had a po boy and it was messy and delish. My hubby had a burger and he was raving about it for day!! He said it was the best burger he ever had. So if you want to grab a bit sandy from the beach or dressed up try it you will be surprised :)

My family and I have been coming to St.Augustine for the past 10 years. From our first year we would stop and eat at the Oasis our first day in St. Augustin. Sadly, the food has gone down hill every year! This year being the worst! I ordered the fried clam platter with two sides. The clams were scraps, somewhat burnt and not fresh at all. One side was not hot just lukewarm. My husband ordered the blackened chicken sandwich and it was a thin piece of frozen chicken on a huge roll with soggy fries. We will not be stopping there ever again to eat. Very disappointing!! And unappetizing.
