I have eaten here a couple of times, and always had a good experience. I dont know about the inside because the back deck is the way to go! However, I have heard that it can be loud inside. The food is good, and they do offer a hotter salsa that I had with my last visit and was delighted with the flavor and little kick. I was raised on southwest (NM, AZ, TX,) red and green chilies and I enjoy the heat. They have it but even that is mild for me, but it has great flavor and smothered on beef fajitas made the for a nice change from SW Floridas blandish food. Notes: You can see the difference between the mild and hotter sauce, it was a thicker, darker red like I have not seen in a long time, unless I make it. Like I said the back deck is the way to go and sits off a lake. Best to go during the winter months, but take a jacket, it can get a little chilly even in Florida.

With all the Latin people who live in and around this area, you would think that someone who knows how to cook great Spanish dishes here! Its pretty sad when a gringa can cook better food than this place! I ordered chicken fajitas. The chicken was dried out and not moist at all. It wasnt even served with cheese to put on the fajitas. When I make fajitas, my chicken is unbelievably tender. Its not that difficult. Just cook the chicken whole so juices stay inside and then cut the chicken up afterwards. My husband had the tamales. He believes they used cornmeal or something weird to prepare them. Dont know how this place has such a high rating because the food is not good and overpriced for the quality unless people are downing the margaritas first and then reviewing this place drunk!

We drove over one hour to eat here today. We drove another hour home and it was worth the drive. We had the lunch menu and had two lunch orders to go as well. We spent 39.00 including tip. The server spoke perfect English, was polite and attentive. The food was served to us in under 10 minutes. The food was all made from scratch and had lots of flavor. The salsa was a little bit hot but the taste was very good. Only complaints are bathrooms need to be cleaned, and the floors need to be washed as well as air vents in bathroom very dusty. Also there was a chip out of my glass. Usually we do not stay at a resturant with these complaints but after reading the reviews and driving over 2 hours round trip we stayed and enjoyed our meal.

Hair in Water glass, broken glass chips on dishes and glasses, bathrooms filty, slow service. Todays visit proved to be a waste of time, money and gas since there was only one server working and a bus boy. The other server did nothing to help the other two workers. The restuant was only about 33% full and only one person serving. We brought our out of state friends there bragging about how wonderful an experience they were about to have eating there. Instead we got bad service, the one man that would not help even refused to bring us another salsa when we had 7 people at our table. I was really disappointed and embarrassed.

Best mexican restaurant Ive EVER been to. The food is FANTASTIC and the service is good. I had the chicken chimichonga (spelling??) and it was great. Ive eaten here several times and Ive never been disappointed. Also, if you like fried ice cream (or have never had it), this is the place to try it! My only complaint would be that when it gets really crowded it can be kind of loud in the main dining room. (tile flooring, wood bottom chairs, you get the picture)

Classic Tex-Mex with a spectacular view of Lake Jackson and a covered patio perfect for those with children who feel the need to walk a bit while waiting for dinner. New-ish pier allows lake dwellers and boaters to motor right up to the restaurant. Their ceviche is the best in town but so is their Ribeye Mario! Fairly priced, usually efficient service and always friendly. Just be wary of peak weekend hours during Snowbird Season.

My folks recently retired to Florida. When I visit them this is one stop that I always make. The food is great and I have always had top notch service. Inside can be a little noisy but not that bad. The back deck is an amazing place to sit. They have one of the best happy hour drink specials ever, buy one get one! If your passing through Sebring and have a craving for Mexican food, this is the place to stop.

Excellent, flavorful Mexican food served quickly and with a smile. Seriously though, the food was very good, and the salsa has a great flavor - which is a good measure of a Mexican restaurants food, usually. The restaurant also has a well stocked bar but the best part is the lake front setting. Also offers covered, screened in outdoor seating with a dock onto the lake. We would definitely recommend.

First time eating there at night. Food was alright. I ordered the ribeye steak meal it came out cold the center was cold and raw I could not eat. I asked for medium well. I could not cut it with a knife I had it before at lunch hours the service is better then. Are waiter hardly came by to check on us and charged $8 dollars for kids drinks for kids dinners. Service not good for alright

Excellent service and great food. Our server "Filly" was extremely professional with an excellent personality. He was very helpful in answering questions concerning the restaurant and menu and made excellent recommendations. Truly great service and the atmosphere and view of the lake from the back deck was awesome. Are meals were delicious and we are looking forward to going back soon.

This place is great, and easily the best Mexican food in the area. Local businesses frequent Don Jose for gatherings during the day and it quickly transforms into a lakeside bar on Friday and Saturday nights, making it fully 1/3 of Sebrings nightlife. Portions are generous and food is delicious. Fun fact: It has a sister restaurant in East Hanover, NJ, which I hear is also delicious.

Youd have better luck with a chain restaurant like Chi-Chis. Sub par portions, service was slow to none existant. Ran out of chips and drinks. When asked for refills took a loooong time. 3 different people waiting on us and none wait staff could communicate with each other. Order cheese dip for appetizer that came after dinner and still charged for it with NO apology.
