We and a lot of people we know stopped coming because of the chips. Part of the having Mexican food is salsa and chips on a table and they are not edible in this place-hard as a rock. We have tried many times and decided El Carmen must be on a commission per broken tooth from the local dentists. They are most likely made out of leftover tortillas as a saving money idea but the lost business is probably costing the place more. Everything else is really good and it is a shame we have to go to Plant City to Mi Casa, Lakeland Abuelos or Winter Haven El Nortenos to enjoy the chips!

Two months ago, I moved to Dade City from Lakeland. I discovered Del Carmen when I was checking out the town. From the restaurant to the store, they have everything I want in my life. The margaritas are superb and every meal I’ve had has been delicious. The service is always prompt and courteous. The décor is charming and the store and restaurant are always very clean. I am recommending them to everyone and have already brought a few couples from Lakeland to join us for dinner there. They are the best Mexican restaurant in town. I know because I’ve tried them all.

Great environment and beautiful inside so colorful and rich with the Mexican way of life. The adjoining shops that you can walk through, the spice and meat selection is out of this world and then you can spend hours walking around in all the shops . I believe that the Dade City town reinvented its self to survive the economic change. I also noticed that the stores and restaurants are mostly owned and operated by the women. Great way to spend a day.

Its a mexican restaurant and grocery store. I ate their flour tacos with beef and it was a great size serving with beans and rice. The rice was the only thing that had little flavor but everything else was delicious. I also bought Mexican candy that I usually cant find at the stores. I also noticed they make and sell sweet bread and cakes. They sell piñatas but the prices were too high for those piñatas.

The restaurant, food, and décor are excellent. I have been here a few times. Only one time was service subpar. The waitress was socializing and ignoring us. Brought us our food cold! Grrrrr. All other times were great. I still almost want to give this place 5 stars, but that one waitress messed it up. Dont let that one bad experience hold you back; its still a great place!

We drove all the way from Tampa today and took some friends and it sure did not disappoint. The Choriqueso Appetizer was wonderful (so was the free chips and salsa). The Tex Mex Fajitas (beef, chicken & shrimp) were delicious and large enough for two men to share. This place is just wonderful and worth the drive. Inexpensive and delicious! Very friendly people too.

best HORCHATA youll ever have in ur life. Some of the girls on register I typical rude mexican chicks all the Dudes are rad. food ordered straight from the Kitchen is the best. They also have a butcher who had swell cuts of meat (he speaks semi good english) very helpful. Id have to eater this place as one of the best shops In town

It may be a Mexican store and employ a lot of Mexicans .BUT it aint Mexican food .the fajitas were tasteles. No spice or taste .The refried beans were WHITE. The rice was tasteless. The salsa sucked .And I KNOW . IM from Texas and AINT never got white refried beans . Nice murals and decor if thats what you eat.

Poor customer service, all waitresses have good communicating skills, clean tables and utensils. 2 stars because employees closed the meat department at 7;45 pm arguing that machine were cleaned and cannot cut anything for me. 2 stars because bathroom is too small, towels and soap dispensers were empty.

Food was good and of abundance. If your looking for lunch then feel free to stop in. If youre looking for a high quality dinner to top off your evening I would suggest this be it. Food is reasonably priced and for what youre paying - youre getting. Chips are fine, btw.

Delicious ceviche and salsa! It did smell like clorox or bleach, which was a bit of a turn-off BUT the food made up for it. Food was great!
