Five stars for the donuts, but regrettably less stars for the service. Donuts To Go is my go-to place when I want to bring something special to work for my team, or when I have family or friends visiting and want an easy breakfast. The variety and flavors of the donuts are phenomenal, but the selection dwindles the longer you wait, so be sure to get there early to get the cream of the crop (especially on the weekends). That being said, there has never been an occasion that I have had a bad experience at Donuts To Go until my most recent visit. Rather than stopping in for some donuts, I brought my mom here to try their breakfast sandwiches, and the visit from start to finish was just bizarre. We had few issues ordering, as their menu display behind the counter outlines the different options for building your own sandwich. I was disappointed that the menu did not specify that you could get an egg on your breakfast sandwich, but luckily the girl working the counter asked if I wanted it. After we placed our order, I paid and the girl told us to have a nice day, which I also found odd as we ordered our food to eat there, but chalked it up to an automatic customer response. We took our drinks and sat at a table to wait on our food, and after a few minutes a man sat down across from us with a styrofoam cup of what looked like tea. The bottom of the cup burst open, spilling his drink all over the floor; we attempted to help him but he said it was alright, and he started to clean it up with some paper towels. A staff member came out and yelled at him to not do that, as she was going to get a mop to clean it up. While I understand that the paper towels would make it harder for mop up the liquid, I didnt feel that she needed to scold the customer in the harsh manner that she did. More than ten minutes passed and she never returned with the mop, and another staff member came over and wondered why she didnt clean it up, chalking it up to "she must have forgot." He went around the corner to the counter and she came back with the mop a few minutes later, making an equally inappropriate stink about picking up the wet paper towels before she mopped. Not once during this entire series of events did they apologize for their cup bursting on the man or offer him a new drink. Ten more minutes passed and my mom wondered where our food was, as it had been about 20-25 minutes since wed initially ordered. She approached the counter and asked, and she was handed a bag of food, despite the fact that we said we would eat there. Since I had ordered a bagel that had been sitting sealed in that bag for who knows how long, by the time I ate it the bagel was rubbery. I normally have nothing but high praise for Donuts To Go, so needless to say I was embarrassed to have brought my mom here after talking it up only to have an experience like this. I felt so genuinely bad for the man across from us, who should never have been treated the way that he was treated by anyone, let alone the staff of the establishment that he was a paying customer of. While I will likely still purchase donuts from Donuts To Go, chances are this was my last time sticking around for anything else.

MOST OF ALL I WANT TO SAY THIS IS COMMENT IS FROM MEMORIES INSIDE MY HEART FROM THE DAYS THAT ARE SADLY LONG GONE. SO I am thrilled that these Donuts and the Atmosphere of shop and kindness of staff. Take me Back to summers in Ashland KY as a kid My Aunt had a donut shop and it was from age 7 to 14 every summer I was in her shop watching and helping and a huge cast iron kettle heated the oil And a very long wooden kinda spatula flipped them as they cooked. Now yes this shows my age. However every month I get to stop by and get a dozen of the BEST AND ONLY DONUTS I WILL EVER EAT. HAVE NOT HAD ANY FROM ANYWHERE IN 4 YEARS. Keep doing the AWESOME BAKING AND YOUR SUPERB RECIPES SHOULD BE CARRIED ON FOR GENERATIONS. You are simply the BEST. Sincerely Michelle Heath. This place puts the "NUT" in Donut! The first time I ever had these was a catering event at my job. It was soooo amazing I had to go check it out for myself. The shop itself is small, but clean. If you dont see your favorite in the glass, they will make it for you. They have breakfast sandwiches too, but I havent tried them yet. You will pay almost twice as much as Dunkin Donuts, but oh my is it worth it!! I havent been back to DD since. (Bonus - they dont get stale in a few hours like DD. These things will still taste fresh for a few days if you keep them in the fridge)

Stop comparing Donuts To Go with Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme...theyre on a different plane of existence! On one, you have normal life (DD). On another, you enjoy life (KK), and on the BEST, youve died and gone to heaven (DTG)! These handmade fresh donuts are the best Ive had in the area! I like to go on Friday and Saturday nights when they have fresh hot ones from 10pm-2am. Im actually looking for their normal hours right now and decided to write this review...

The other day, one of our vendors brought in a box of donuts from this shop. They were the best that I have had in a long time, if not ever. Everyone in the office commented on how delicious they were as well. The selection he brought in was amazing and so much better than the run of the mill ones we usually get. Thank you, Darryl for bringing them in. We gave him two thumbs up for his choices. Good job, Donuts To Go! We will be coming to you in the future.

I have been a fan since this place opened. That being said the last two weeks I have purchased donuts I have found them to be not as fresh as previous visits. Instead they are not stale but rather stiff as if made the day before. Getting there early morning I find makes a difference. This morning 7:00 AM purchase did not prove this point. I hope this is just a glitch and can be worked out. Would be sad to switch back to Dunken Donuts! Pete O.
