Sorry but I must be honest here. I am German and my wife is Colombian. Maybe I am spoiled but although your food tastes decent it is NOT Spanish Bakery food. The empanadas are horrible as emapanadas go, they are more meat pie than empanada. Hot dogs wrapped in pillsbury dinner roll dough is a pig in a blanket and although it is good, it is not a spanish food item. Oh, and just to be clear hot dogs are not chorizo. If you are going to be a Spanish Bakery You need someone who knows how to make actual spanish food and you should be serving things like: Spanish Coffee (with steamed milk -aka Cafe con Leche) Arepas (a cornmeal bread) with and without egg Chicharrón (fried pork belly/rinds) Empanadas (properly done), beef, chicken, and cheese Pan de Bono (bread made of corn flour, cassava starch, cheese and eggs) Pan de Yuca (bread made of cassava starch and cheese) Pan con queso (Bread With Cheese) Chorizo (the real thing) I dont want to be critical without offering a solution. Reply to me and I will give you places you can go to research a proper Spanish Bakery.

Hidden gem in St. Augustine. You could walk right by this place 100 times and never see it. It is on St. George Street near the north end but tucked away in a courtyard behind Whetstones Chocolate. Im a local and have been coming here as long as I can remember. The fresh baked bread (and I mean fresh - it comes out every half hour) goes perfectly with a small bowl of picadillo and rice or the chicken and rice soup. They have meat or fruit empanadas and fresh baked pastries. Its one of the only remaining bargains in the ancient city. They keep their overhead low with courtyard dining.

This place came highly recommended. Parking in downtown St. Augustine is crazy so it took us 45 minutes to even find somewhere to park. The Spanish Bakery is on St. George St. which is actually just a big walkway. When we finally got there they were out of the ingredients to make the food that was recommended to us. Such a disappointment. We walked over to Taberna Del Caballo and had a fantastic dinner with drinks! Go there instead.

Shocker statement coming. My family and I are not from Spain and therefore not experts with Spanish cuisine. All six of us loved the food. We had a warm loaf of bread, chicken soup, beef empanadas, some kind of salad and a pressed chicken sandwich. The service was fast, the food was fresh and they had a picnic table big enough for my family. Once again, really loved it.

Se hacen llamar españoles y ni hablan español este pu española pero no lo encontré así que los próximos visitantes a este lindo lugar olvídense de comida española

I look forward to going to St. Augustine purely for this place. Thier empanadas are phenomenal. My personal favorite is the beef empanada. Its an adorable little place where you walk in and choose your empanada then grab a table outside under thier oak trees. It smells amazing and is right in the center of town.

Its a small place with only outdoor seating. I had a pig in a blanket (good), a beef and chicken empanada which I liked but my father said they were a little spicy, I disagree. My kids had some lemon cookies which were ok no big deal. Its a nice place to sit down and take a break from all the walking.

Casual place set back in a court yard. Small menu with fresh baked items. The Gazpacho was mildly spiced with chunks of sweet peppers. The Cuban sandwich was fresh with melted cheese. Seating is all outside, mostly at picnic tables. Some shade spots but not a place to get into the AC.

Had a very yummy lunch here, husband ordered the Cuban (which comes on Cuban bread, a must!) and I ordered the chicken sandwich. Both were very yummy and filling... Guy working behind the counter was really nice and explained how he makes homemade pickles to go on the sandwiches!

They sell my favorite empanadas in the entire world. Every time I visit family in Daytona Beach I convince them to take a trip out to St Augustine JUST for these empanadas. Pair them with the coupon on the receipt for Whetstones next door, and youre set for lunch.

Absolutely amazing! A nice lunch for a cheap price! All the food is good! The empanadas are good, the sausage roll is excellent. The combo is such a good deal. And the Carmel apple turnover is to die for! I had to take one to go because it was so good!

This is something I dont like doing, but dont waste your money here especially if you have kids and on a budget. I am a gourmet cook and daughter professional chef so it took a few seconds to realize this isnt anything we have had for this ethnic food.

Bread was amazing. Pastry was so-so. I was extremely disappointed that a place with "cafe" didnt offer anything more than a coffee pot youd make at home. For a "good" coffee go into the chocolate shop. There is a full barista in there (and its good)

I did not like the food. Got an empanada and turnover. Empanadas are very spicy so who knows you might like it. While the woman behind the counter was friendly they seemed understaffed. Wrong sandwiches being made and then wasted over and over again.

Good place to stop and have a lite lunch while touring St. George Street. The food is great (limited selection), give the empanadas a try. They a nice courtyard were you can sit and admire the old architecture of the building and city.

I was looking for some Spanish pastry and some GOOD COFFEE but this wasnt the place. It could be that I came around 1 pm and the food was almost gone. The coffee is not what a coffee lover might call good coffee.

Best food ever! Every time I am in St. Augustine I have to stop there and get their Picadillo soup and cookies! Truly one of the best places and it is super cheap!

JA

100% recommended, enjoy the lunch special (try the picadilla!) with great taste for only 7 bucks in the shadow of the backjard with relaxing Spanish sounds.

Great soups. Affordable in the land of overpriced merchandise. Combo only 6 bucks included; Soup, baked bread, baked cookie and can of soda. Great deal.

Is my favorite lunch spot. I like it because its not heavy or fried like the classic Spanish empanadas and food. Too much of that in Orlando for sure

SC

A Saint Augustine institution. Inexpensive, tasty and filling. Everything is good, but the Minorcan clam chowder and the picadillo are my favorites.
