Im kicking myself for not visiting this restaurant much sooner. Today was my first visit and I went around 4. There were no other customers there at first (but people started coming later). The lady who took my owner was very friendly and helpful. The gentleman who called my name when my food was ready was friendly as well. As I was told, their food is homemade and I could tell right away. The taste of everything was top notch and flavorful. From the amazing, swee pineapple cole slaw, tasty jalapeno corn fritters, to the crispy clam strip po boy, I was very impressed with the quality and taste of their food. The Cajun dipping sauce was excellent and I also topped my po boy with Cholula hot sauce. I ordered my meal with a sweet tea and the cost was about $12, which is a very fair price. I devoured everything and was stuffed. There were a lot of fried clam strips on my po boy, which is exactly what I wanted. I would definitely return to this restaurant to try out more of their seafood, burgers, and/or BBQ! Before I left I made sure to tell the owners that their food was awesome and they thanked me.

Great hot dogs. They have the big smoker out there. You can smell it all. Brisket was melt in your mouth delicious. Very cute. People that run it are nice people with a nice scense of humer. All outside under a metal roof with thash bundle on top. You have lots of picnic tabls. and fans all over. Even tho it might be hot outside the roof you are comfy under the roof.. They have good fried zuccini sticks crunchy and delightfull. Oh their coleslaw was refreshing it had pineapple bits in there breaking up the heaviness of the mayo and making the slaw light and refreshing. Very nice. There was also ice cream to have and other dishes. Big juicy burgers, fish sandwiches,lobster rolls, chicken sandwiches onion rings frensh fries, and other things Im sure they were all good. I just went for the hot dog and tried a bite of my friends brisket. Go engoy life simple and good.

Just about anything you get on the menu here is going to be awesome! I found them Gem during a stay at the Inn at Little Harbour in Ruskin. The guidebook in my condo recommended it, and I am sure glad that I decided to give it a try. The family that runs this place is incredibly friendly, and they always go out of their way to make your experience as amazing as possible. I try to get the blackened grouper sandwich whenever I come here as it is always fresh and amazing but it always seems like I get here too late and they are sold out. No big deal as their burgers are great, and the BBQ is amazing. Dont forget to check the dog pen behind the food truck, and say hello to the dogs that are responsible for the name.

GREAT- People GREAT- Food GREAT- Atmosphere GREAT- Milkshakes I had two cheese dogs. They were nicely grilled and served on a toasted buttered roll. So good. My wife can never make a decision so she ordered the 4 meat plate. That was a winner! She insisted I try the brisket as it was the best she ever had. She added the hot sauce to her pulled pork, ribs and chicken and saved a little with sweet sauce for my tender Irish tongue. Even the rolls that came with it were delicious. We took a chocolate milkshake for the road. We should have grabbed a spoon. We were half way to Venice before we could drink it through a straw. (that is a compliment NOT a complaint) Dont change a thing. Youve nailed it!

Had lunch with three friends. We had a good sampling of the menu - I had three blackened grouper tacos and clam chowder. It was ultra fresh and amazing. The BBQ looked phenomenal and service was up front excellent! Im kind of speechless and probably should have waited to compose myself before writing this childish review but this place was just too good. I was in town for a few days and drove by everyday, after day 1 I decided I was not going home before I ate here. Glad I kept that promise to myself and dragged along three others.

This was the first and LAST time for me..the fries where more black then brown, soggy n looked like theyve been sittn there the whole day. The coleslaw tasted like the mayo was bad and it was wilted. 1 forkful n i spit it out..horrible..The fish was so so. Nothing to rave about...i will never go there again..wasted money...i will stick with the Fish House for my fish thats fir sure..

Weve been vacationing in Ruskin for a week now, and this was the best meal weve had by far. Ribs are fall off the bone tender, pulled pork is phenomenal, and the chicken was also falling off the bone. Dont judge by first glance, this place is legit. The price is right, too. If youre staying in Little Harbor, skip the 2 closest overpriced joints and eat here instead. Youll thank me.

At The Dog House you a greeted at the counter by a friendly face and the kind of Warmth you expect to accompany great food. Everything is fresh and tasty. My favorite is the rib sandwich my husband loves the fish tacos. And I appreciate Lisa the owner wanting to know her regulars by name, she knows shes not just in the food business, shes in the relationship business.

Great brisket, chicken and pork, but just good ribs. Loved their fruity cole slaw. My girl had clam chowder and grouper sandwich and she was happy too. My friends copmlained about his shrimp dinner portions, but my 4meat plate was huge! Im 220lbs, 64" and I had two meals out of that plate. Oh, and Im a fan of the simple outdoor setting of the place!

Im not trying to be mean, but my shrimp poor boy had two medium length blonde hairs in it. Very unpleasant; unfortunately, I had ordered it to go and was miles away before I discovered the hairs. Just saying you could do a whole lot better. I notice that everyones hair was very casual. That should have tipped me off. I wont be back.

We tried Saturday evening at 6:40 and they were closed up tighter than a tick this is the second time we have tried to go a out that time frame and they were closed, could still smell the bbq.. Went down the road and several people there had also went there, so guess it there are new hours it would be nice if they were posted..

Just got in the area this afternoon from Minnesota and had to get my tender moist ribs that you eat with a plastic fork. Didnt have my normal sweet potato fries with homemade marshmallow dipping sauce I trying the rings. They were giant and not greasy with great batter. Had to finish off with their homemade cheesecake.

Food was okay. Wasnt amazing like people said it was. Nothing special about it. Took 30 minutes to get food And the price was a lot for something that was okay and not real big. People were wonderful though and nothing was wrong with the food! Still would suggest trying it out and see what you think!
