We did our research before picking a hibachi restaurant for date night and each of us had tried other local ones who had great decor but lacked in customer service and in teppanyaki chef tableside show. It wasnt until I gave up and search "unique dining experience" that I found Tokyo; a place I pass a million times and always forget to try! The food was prepared excellently, scallops perfectly done with not one grit of sand or tough tail/bib. The ginger dressing was on point. Best of all, Justin A.K.A. Chef Sake-it-to-me! Tricks I havent seen in some of the best NY and Philly chain and standalone restaurants. Anyone unaccompanied by kids should definitely request his "late night show," filled with adult humor. Plus, the entire wait staff made you feel like youre at home in a cool local spot and refer to you as "friend." We will definitely be back with our other friends! Also, try the titan roll if you like raw/cooked combo sushi!

If youre looking for a hibachi grill in Ormond, THIS is the one to choose. I have been here several times. The food is consistently delicious, and the cooks are great performers who are very skilled at what they do. The service is excellent. Plus, the room with the grills is large and I didnt feel stuffed into a table like I have felt at similar restaurants. You usually get seated very quickly too, no matter the size of your party. Prices are reasonable (though I have found cheaper hibachi restaurants in other cities). The only downside is that the decor isnt as fancy as some of the other hibachi grills in the area, but on all other counts, Tokyo far surpasses its competitors! Recommended!

This is a hard rating to do because I love love the food at this restaurant and in one month I was there a total of 3 times for different parties and each time the service is so slow (parties are no larger than 10 people) which makes for a bad atmoshpere because everyone is hungry and you get grumpy =) and then you eat and then it still takes forever to get the check. The waitress even walks at a slow pace to get you refills, check on you, etc. If only the service was as good as the food.,

My boyfriend and I were spending the weekend in Daytona Beach and were in the mood for hibachi. Google led us here and we couldnt have been happier. We were the only 2 there for the show but the Chef went all out. We talked about local entertainment and when the show was over the owner came over to talk with us as well. We felt so welcome and appreciated, and the food was AMAZING! Well definitely be going back. 5 stars all around!

Our server was so slow grill master nearly came out before our soup n salad. Asked for oil & vinegar he just gave me a salad loaded with ginger. Spoke with supervisor and he was able to locate oil & vinegar. I feel the young man with blonde hair and a goofy smile didnt even bother to look! We are frequent dinners and we know what to expect when we come in. Weve even had Birthday Parties here!

Tokyo is my current fave sushi place in Ormond Beach. Although its atmosphere isnt as flashy as Takeya up the street, its sushi portions are double the size for the same price. Tokyo has one of the largest sushi roll selections Ive ever seen, and unlike Takeya, theres rarely a wait. Hands down, between Takeya and Tokyo, Id pick Tokyo every time.

This place is phenomenal! The food was delicious and Justin was quite the entertainer. We had a four year old and she loved every second of it. He made the best jokes and kept her entertained, as well as the rest of our group. So props to Justin. Only complaint is our waiter seemed distracted with coworker and never brought out our salads.

treated very rudely by the wait staff. first time went to habachi style dining and could hardly get the waitress to get up from the table where whe was sitting to get refills on drinks and such. next time went strictly for the sushi and found the wait staff to be rude and arrogant. not worth going again. we wont be back thats for sure!

Wonderful time here! The eel and tuna sushi was amazing. The Tokyo special cocktail was a nice touch to cut down the sweetness of the plum wine. If you have the chance ask for Mike! Best hibachi chef ever bar none! The sushi rolls are also humongous, saw some plates passing my table. Definitely will stop by here again =D

First time there and i must say we had the best hibachi experience weve ever had. The cook was good with our 3 kids and the amount of food was worth every dime. Only thing i didnt like was the sushi couldve been plated a bit better but overall sushi was good.

How this place doesnt have 5 stars is a mystery to me. My hubby and I go here often our service is always great and consistent. Hibachi chef Leo is a riot and very worth the time but the sushi bar is great to with lots of options and yumminess!

IT WAS AWFUL!!!! THE OWNER SAT AND STARED AT ME AND MY HUSBAND WHO WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE!!!!!! HE WOULD NOT EVEN SIT ANYONE AT OUR TABLE. THEN THE FOOD WAS JUST PLAIN BAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
