I dont know why this place has so many 5 star reviews. Having been to some of the best sushi places in orlando, this place would be not even make top 5. Have fun paying for parking to get to this place, unless you can luck out and snag a spot on eola drive for free. ok, so the ambiance is great (except when they turn the lights down so low everyone pulls out their Phones flashlights to see menus), and the decor is nice, and the bar looks cool, and the hostess is always a cutey, but beyond all of that, disappointment came heavy as far as food and drinks are concerned. happy hour is nearly a joke. the menu consists of 15 or so rolls (and some other stuff), with 12 being nearly the same: tuna with something, Tuna with something else, Tuna with yet something else (by something i mean flakes, or cucumber, or asparagus, or cream cheese). I ordered 3 sets of rolls, and if it werent for the eel sauce they draped over the one line of rolls, they all looked and Tasted Identical. Not that you could even Taste the fish; tiny portions of each kind of fish wrapped around entirely too much rice left everything to be desired. $4.50 for 2 pieces of nigiri / sashimi is hardly a "deal" now is it; thats what it Costs everywhere else too at normal hours. how is that a deal? ordered a Large hot sake. Should have been $6-7, as per the bartender... bill comes, 9 F-ing bucks. Really?! def not happy hour price there either is it... not that $7 is a happy hour price anyway for a large hot sake (the generic stuff you can get for $10 a bottle at publix)... again, normal pricing of items made to look like a deal for all the yuppies that frequent there. ordered their "fancy" "specialty" drink of the day or whatever; at a "happy hour" price of only $6 something dollars, this ice laden drink was simply poured out of one of those giant pitchers where they pre-made all of this lame cocktail (it takes longer for them to describe the array of ingredients than it does to pour the stupid thing). if you were to take the half pound of ice out of my drink, the glass would be lucky to be half full (short glass too btw). they must save all the "good" stuff for the actual menu, where believe me, you are going to pay out the nose for a decent meal. for the true sushi enthusiast, visit Suki Hana in hunters creek, or Sakari in winter park.

I had rated this restaurant 5 stars and came frequently over the last year. Sunday 11/13/16 I came for happy hour. First my girlfriends vodka water barely tasted like vodka. The second drink was the same and we sent it back. Then the sushi arrived and the rolls were cold! If I wanted pre-made refrigerated sushi rolls I would have gone to publix. I complained and the manager proceeds to tell me the rolls WERENT cold! Basically calling my girlfriend and I liars. The jerk hadnt even checked the rolls. Then the manager says he will re-make the rolls with new rice but to be careful because the rice will be hot and steamy. The waiter returns 20 minutes later with rice that has been microwaved. It was obvious because the rice had become pasty and the temperature was not consistent. Some of it was still cold. Then the idiot doesnt bother coming back out to see if we liked it or not. Sucks because I used to love this place but the manager is incompetent and an A-hole and if you arrive at opening you get last nights rice.

Went here last night with my wife for her birthday and a few friends. What a great experience! I dropped my wife off while I parked and they greeted her by name when she walked up. We had just called to say we were running late for our reservation and they were so accommodating. We were amazed at the happy hour prices and the quality of the roles. We ordered some surimi and it was the best weve ever had. this is real deal sushi house and the funky vibe and techno-ish music was fun. We had house martinis and they were great. Our friends ordered the orange basil vodka thing that was the special. they loved them. food was so fresh and artfully prepared. Well be back. Service and staff were awesome, we even gave up our big table when we thought some of our party wasnt going to make it and then asked to change back when they arrived. Our waiter never missed a beat and kept our water full and was there every time we wanted order another round of rolls. FUN!!!!!

Having already high hopes for Thornton Parks Shari Sushi Lounge, we were not disappointed with this downtown staple. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted outside the beautiful steel door. The decor was young and modern and instantly transports you to New York or Miami. Then there was the food...WOW...some of the most well thought out sashimi dishes weve ever had and who can complain about the "Gold Digger" A whole fresh water lobster tail inside with blue crab and topped with tuna tartare and 18k gold flakes. AMAZING. There was even the most wonderful chicken teriyaki for my brother who doesnt care for raw fish. And my waiter Demetri was absolutely wonderful! All in all, it was a GREAT time and we will definitely be coming there on a regular basis!

Shari has some of my absolute favorite dishes. First, being buffalo lobster. Yep, they take lobster, tempura batter it, fry it and toss it in this incredible spicy, creamy, garlicky sauce. Talk about a little bit of heaven. The garlic edamame is my favorite edamame EVER. The chiquita roll is weirdly delicious- volcano blue crab, avocado, eel and you guessed it... BANANA. Its also topped with a honey sauce. The fireball roll contains spicy tuna tartar and avocado, tuna on the outside with a sriracha and spicy mayo. If you like sashimi you MUST try the jalapeno pepper hamachi. Flavor explosion for sure. It is served with a wasabi lime sauce and its truly one of my favorite sashimi dishes ever. They also do a great happy hour!

I loved the sushi for happy hour great selection even though they were the smallest potions for the price Ive seen in Orlando. However, even though it was dead, and Monday, it took over 45 minutes to get our food. Even though I asked for the sushi to come out first, all the food came out together. We were STARVING so I jumped on my 5 rolls while my boyfriend ate his chicken teriyaki. Even though the chicken teriyaki was a whopping $18, two of them couldnt feed a normal sized man because my boyfriend was still hungry. I ate all my rolls and was STILL hungry. At $4 a roll ($1 a piece since there are only 4 pieces), they were good. But for the $41 bill and still leaving hungry, I would not recommend this place.

My all time favorite Sushi restaurant. This gem is located in Throton Park and is a small, quaint establishment with wonderful sushi. A great way to check out their food is during their happy hour when they have regular menu items (a subset of normal menu) at happy hour pricing as well as some wine and hard alcholol choices at a reduced cost. The Volcano Roll is a must have if you like crab or Krab (dependning which you get). Ive also seen and heard the lobster rolls are fabulous. Hubby always has the "special" roll and has always been happy with that choice. We like sitting on the "bar side" of the restaurant for a more casual experience and watching TV and maybe surfing on our tablets a bit.
