We have been coming to the gb for about 2 years and during that 2 years there have been some issues. We spend a lot of money in here and always have recommended this place. That will not be happening again. In December of 2015 there was misunderstanding about our check. I was paying at the time and I check the amounts where my friend never did. He had forgotten his wallet so I was paying. I noticed a $20.00 charge for a bottle of prairie bomb that we had not ordered, we were drinking prairie bomb on tap for $12.00 so why would we order a bottle for $20.00. When I questioned the girl behind the bar she got very ugly and said we did order it. I paid and left and the next day I met with one of the owners and he was going to look over the tapes because our activity is recorded and get back with me. He offered me $8.00 and basically said it was the difference between the bottle and the tap???? So over the next year and a half we still frequented the bar and even though the people that worked there acted differently to us we liked the place. Well last night we went there and got dinner and beer. It was Saturday night and it is basically very slow there and that is why we prefer it because it is so loud in there. The bar was almost cleared out and then this large group of about 10 people came in and sat at the back 2 tables. We had been sitting at the end of the bar which is close to the tables and it was so loud we moved to the front of the bar by the kitchen. The noise was unbelievable coming from that group of people and we couldnt even hear ourselves speak. The whole bar had cleared out except us and the group. On the way out I guess my friend made a comment to the table about clearing out the bar (I dont know because I had gone to the car)and after he got into the car I spotted our waitress coming out in the parking lot I rolled down the window and she precedes to say that this is the second time something has happened and we are not allowed back. I dont know what transpired because I left but do not appreciate the fact that the incident that happened a year and a half ago was still a factor. My God nothing happened again and I am told I am not allowed back because something my friend did. I guess this place doesnt believe in forgiveness and also we are in our 60s and 70s and at this point I believe that is the issue because they cater to a younger crowd. We have gb cards that are completely filled for free beer and now we arent allowed back. I think there is more going on than just a comment being made. I really liked the waitress and was surprised that I was involved in this. In December she was not working when the other incident happened but she knew about it. I guess they must have made a you tube. Anyway thanks for getting me involved when I did nothing.

Ive been coming to this place since they have opened and every time it reminds me why. The food is hot and delicious! The people are warm and welcoming. The staff are always so relatable and knowledgeable. The guys who own it are there working all the time to make sure it is running exactly how a restaurant should. The food: I have a few favorites which I dont often veer away from which are the Johnny mac and cheese (amazing), jalapeño flat bread (I order it light on the jalapeños because they are fresh), the brisket and brisket tacos, and the mac and cheese. Today I had the TBCC (turkey bacon cream cheese) so good and my fiancé ordered the brisket bacon sandwich, which I almost ate half of his too. The brisket was on the spicer end today, but I dont like spice and I thought it was still great! Overall you cant go wrong with any item on the menu. Share a few meals with friends to make sure you try it all it. Today I did get any beers, but their selections on draft all looked and sounded good. Tip: they have a beer/wine card where you get a punch for every drink you purchase and at 10 you get one free. I often save mine for that rare pricier drink. Warning: it is a very wonderful place to hang out all night, with amazing people, and drink some awesome beers. You might stay longer than you expected to stay.

The Gnarly Barley is a hidden gem in Orlando! This place looks totally sketchy when you drive by as it is a small building amidst a largely industrial part of Orange Ave. However, once you park in the lot behind it and walk up to the porch and into the building, it gets a lot more appealing. They have a really extensive menu of craft beers that includes a list of seasonal offerings on a massive chalkboard to your left as you walk in the door; there is some good stuff most people have probably never had on this list! The food was surprisingly awesome too - lots of unique and creative takes on some traditional bar-type foods. Moreover, the prices on both drinks and food are really reasonable. Overall, this is a great place to try if you feel like being adventurous and venturing out to this part of town! Im sure this place would be a huge hit if it were located in a busier location, but then again, I kind of like the fact that its a bit hidden!
