I am very impressed with the food here. I had read some reviews from Yelp about how delicious the food here was so I wanted to try it out. LivingSocial was giving away $10 food vouchers for $0 to $1 and I had one day to use it so I picked this place to try. They have online ordering which I thought was impressive. I ordered for three people and we had one General Tsos Chicken, one Spring Roll, one large order of BBQ Spare Ribs, one Egg Drop Soup, and one Singapore Mein Fun for a total of $33.85 plus tax. You can specify what time you will be picking the order up and I set mine for 30 minutes later. However, I was running late and ended up getting to the restaurant about 20 minutes late. Mid-drive to the restaurant, I had called to make sure they had received my order and the lady who picked up the call confirmed that my order was ready. The restaurant is located in a big shopping plaza; more specifically, if you were to drive into the plaza from Bird Road (40th Street), the restaurant will be located near the right corner side facing Winn-Dixie (which is an easy one-minute walk away). Apparently the restaurant was recently acquired because there is a sign on the front noting new management. The door was held ajar on this slightly cool October evening. Inside were maybe two or three tables of patrons. Contrary to the reviews Ive read, you can dine there and the dining area is not too bad for a Chinese takeout restaurant. Id estimate about six to seven tables total. I didnt have to wait as there was no one else in front of me. The front desk lady spoke decent English and had her young daughter with her. She took my ID to verify my identity and then handed me two of my orders. I had to wait about 5 minutes for the chef to prepare the third order. I think they didnt cook the third order until I came because they wanted the food to be fresh, or perhaps the food was already ready and they wanted to re-cook it, one of those two reasons. It was ingenious the way they packaged the food; they placed it in white styrofoam boxes and staple the lid shut so it doesnt inadvertently pop open. First thing I tried was the General Tsos Chicken. I ordered with special instructions stating "Very little spicy" and it was accurately made. This dish was very delicious. The chicken was moist and chewy and the taste was a hit-on. My dad tried the ribs first and thought it was too dry, perhaps overheated, which I tasted the same. I felt a few ribs had a little meat-to-bone ratio. I wouldnt recommend the ribs I had for the price paid, but the funny thing was that I ate the leftover ribs the next night after reheating it and it tasted pretty good (hungriness may have skewed my taste buds). The Singapore Mein Fun was incredibly delicious. It had a tinge of sweetness in it. I would go back just for the Singapore Mein Fun because it was very well-made. I think I could eat this nonstop. My cousin took a bite of the Spring Roll after our meal and I could hear the crunch from across the table. The Spring Rolls were still crunchy and delicious after an hour which impressed my dad, a retired chef. I was too full to eat the Spring Roll until the next day and it tasted so good I couldnt believe it was a Spring Roll (I rarely like Spring Rolls because of the oily look and taste). Very delicious. The Egg Drop Soup was just okay. It wasnt bad but it wasnt amazingly good, just okay. A bag of Dry Crispy Noodles was included with the soup and it is very different from the noodles Ive seen from other Chinese restaurants. The noodles are thicker width-wise and very crunchy. My dad thinks it might be in-house made by the restaurant. Thats quite impressive. This is now my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant and I try to recommend them whenever the opportunity arises.

Just ordered take out and had to throw away all the food. Ordered Kung Pao chicken and it was filled with a gelatinous brown sauce and some mushy vegetables. disgusting! . Did not see any chicken, just soggy breading all gooey with gelatin (since when does Kung Pao chicken come with breading?). Just eat a can of dog food and save your money. The guys that work there look like they have not showered in weeks...Why would they wash the chicken? As soon as you see them and the cook you will realize that they will eat anything and sell anything?

we have been coming here for years! but this will be the last time. I dont know if they changed management or what but they changed the recipe of all the food, for the worst in my opinion. I ordered two combination dinners and when the food was delivered i noticed that I did not receive my egg rolls or soups, I called to ask why, and their answer was that unless you ask for those items (that are included in the meal and you must pay for anyway) they will not give them to you! I will NOT be going back.

Mushy chicken breading with no actual distinguishable chicken. There were roaches crawling on the table before sitting down to eat. This place would probably close down if they were inspected. Never eating here again.

Ho Wah used to be amazing however they recently changed management and now the quality of the food went down and it doesnt even taste that great anymore. Theyve also seemed to have doubled the price for everything.
