I had been looking forward to enjoying the breakfast buffet since it had been a few years since I had been during breakfast hours so I went this past Sunday. First thing I noticed was the price increase , $9 for the buffet not including the beverage , in my case coffee for $2. The food with the exception of the scrambled eggs ( hard to mess up there ) was terrible. The Bacon and sausage had a poor flavor , corn beef hash tasted like what I imagine heated Alpo would be like . The Texas toast for use with the chipped beef ( not bad , not particularly good ) was sweet. The coffee was the worst I have ever had, watered down and lacking in flavor. To make maters worse the only artificial sweetener they had was Sweet-N-Low ( ugh!). The service was bad as well , having received a brash " Thats all we got! " response to my request for some Splenda or Equal . After less than 15 minutes I was ready to leave having not been able to enjoy any coffee while reading my Sunday paper as I used to in years past. I had the manager remove the charge for the undrinkable coffee from my bill and suggested that they offer Splenda or some other sweeteners for their guest and was told that due to the cost of labor and other overhead expenses they would not. $2 for a cup of watered down coffee in my opinion would leave more than enough profit margin to include such " luxuries ". I left feeling extremely dissatisfied and not a little hungry and caffeine deprived . Also with a $9 hole in my wallet for a plate of mediocre scrambled eggs. This used to be a great place for a for a big Sunday breakfast but no longer. I will never step foot in there again. I will continue to patronize Piccadillys Breakfast buffet in St.Pete from now on. Not as much variety and the food is often hit-or-miss but still much better than Golden Corral on its worst day as well as good service and reasonable price.

I was at golden corral 3 weeks ago. The food quality was average. I saw a couple of roaches on the floor near the hot food aisle. I was getting some mashed potatoes and meat loaf. Told one of the cooks. He said he was to busy. But he told his manager. I went back.to my table to sit down and eat. I asked for cup of water which tasted horrible. So I asked for another cup from the server but the server started to clear plates,etc off a couple tables and brought them to the dish room. She must been there or talking to another server for about 15 minutes. So when she came back, I asked for another cup of water. She gave me three cups. She then went back to clearing off tables I didnt see her again for about another 20 minutes. It was very warm in the restaurant. A fly was always trying to get my food and my cups of water. I kept waving my right hand to chase it away. But it kept coming back. So I kept waving my hand to chase it away. After I was done eating, I had to use the bathroom. The bathroom was pretty dirty. There was toilet paper and paper towels all over the bathroom. One soap dispenser near the sink was broken. The cover was torn off. There was soap was spilled all over the sink counter. There was water spilled on the floor near the sink area. So I used the sink in the in the handicap room. The soap dispenser was almost out of soap. So I told a server. She that someone had completely messed up the mens room. She said that she just told a manager and that he would get someone to clean it up. Before I left I spoke to another manager about very warm it was in the resturant, and that a fly kept annoying me while I was eating. He said very sorry to hear that. The air conditioner will be fixed tomorrow come back again. I wont be back ever. Im going to eat at Sweet Tomatoes next time!!!!!

There were Gnats and Flies everywhere! All over the food bars (Each food Bar too) and throughout the restaraunt. We gave up on any reqular food and thought, maybe try the deserts and leave. Well as I was about to take a bite of a chocolate covered strawberry, I had to swat a fly out of the way and it landed on my rice crispy treat. Absolutely disgusted and Beyond disappointed at this point, I requested the manager. After asking three separate servers and waiting a good 30 minutes, a man named Marco appeared. He was very rude and obviously upset we had bothered him and pulled him away from whatever it was he was previously doing. He literally scoffed my husband and I when we attempted to describe to him the issues with all of the flying insects and our food, as well as the bar food. He said there wasnt anything he could do and would it make me happy if he made me "new Rice Krispie treats"? I replied we just paid over $60 for dinner and havent had anything decent to eat and your response is to make new Rice Krispie treats? He laughed and said he doesnt know what else I want him to do. He then, very loudly said, do you want it or no?? My husband replied no and the Marco walked off back into the kitchen. We left & needless to say we wont be back! Unfortunately, still hungry, two and a half hours and over 60 bucks later.

Poor management and terrible service : After being charged for a drink that is included in the senior buffet, i expected a quick refund of the beverage. Instead I was challenged by the manager, Juan Figueroa who would not refund the drink. Because our receipt was printed at 4:00:10 (10 seconds past 4pm), he thought we should have paid more not less. He argued for nearly 10 minutes. It didnt make sense because we were charged lunch fares and the senior lunch that we paid for includes a drink, but yet we were charged separately for a drink we only ordered because we were told the drink was included when ordering. This was a simple mistake which should have promptly been corrected by providing a quick refund of the beverage. Instead, the manager, after 10 minutes, offered a $5 coupon for our next visit. Im truly disappointed. I was exhausted from standing there talking to him so long and agreed to take the coupon. I appreciate the concession, but feel this review is warranted because the situation was mishandled. The drink should have simply been refunded and you would have provided great service. But instead Im a disappointed and unhappy customer who will not be back.

I have visited this place several times over many many years. It was my fathers favorite place to eat. He loved getting a salad and a meal and he loved ice cream cones. However, I lost my dad 5 years ago and still wanting to go to a place my dad took us to have a family meal was something I looked forward to. this place has gone down hill. the friendly attitude is gone. The food has gotten worse. the last time we went there to give it another try we found rotted fruit with flies buzzing around. The hot food was cold. I asked for more mashed potatoes because they were out and I got a big attitude from the staff. I waited 25 minutes for mashed potatoes and by that time my other food was cold. I started to get another plate and give it a try with fresh mashed potatoes but when I looked at the potatoes and was about to scoop the runny white fake potatoes...a fly landed in them. I tried to talk to a manager because this breaks my heart but she said they were short staffed and too busy to keep up with the food line. I told her of the rotten strawberries and she said well fruit is hard to keep fresh. ok well we wont be back. We left.
