I called this restaurant 3 times on the phone and they claimed they had sashimi and each time I got there (which was 70 miles round trip for me) they had none and condescended to cut me a little bit begrudgingly. The quality was terrible: grade 4 fish at best. The first time they claimed I came too early and they had no chance to put it out yet, the second time they claimed they were understaffed and the third time, they didnt even attempt to lie. There was no necessity for them to lie and tell me that they had sashimi when they very well did not. I tried all their other dishes, sushi and cooked alike and thought it was mediocre to outright swill. The food was so unappetizing that I left there hungry all three times. I am an experienced culinarian in general and certainly of Japanese food which I learned about in Japan from experts there and I know how to judge it. There are several excellent quality Japanese Buffets in Southeast Florida, but this restaurant is not on the same plane of existence as the others. I seriously would expect indigestion to food poisoning from Mikata. I have never wished a restaurant to go under, but I make an exception in this case.

All the negative reviews I have read have to be from their competitors. The employees there are nice and know how to treat their guests. The Sushi chef is one like no other. The other night my family and I were at the table and the chef remembered how much I love sushi. He made a Mafia Roll and brought the whole roll with a side of Sashimi for my family and I to enjoy. We were blown away by the taste and the way he presented the dish to us. I wish I could paste a picture of the roll here. It was so awesome that I had to take a picture of it. The place is clean, the food is good, and the staff is great. I have never had a bad experience at this place and recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a try. If you are a sushi lover, ask the chef to create any roll for you. If he has the ingredients to make it, he is more than happy to do so. There are two chefs one is a new guy who just started, and the other is a young guy with glasses. He is the man!!!!!!!!!!

As a family we went to MIKATA for lunch, much of the food does not taste fresh or even like its supposed to. Then come the dinner only signs, but not everything is marked,so you get some what look like new items and you try them, then you get your bill and discover that you have been charged for dinner. When you try to dispute the bill you are told (you ate alot of food so you have to pay) but arent you supposed to eat alot at a buffet? So a very thin piece of unfinishable cheesecake takes your bill from lunch price to dinner price. By the way it was not even marked dinner only. I we will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. Again much of the food DOES NOT taste good, or fresh, or sanitary. Stuart has many BETTER places to eat and even other buffets close by. As a closing, I dont know for sure but that evening I got a very bed case of DIAREAHA, I wonder how many other people who ate there did as well, Ill check my post to see.

This place was a huge let down. I have no idea how they got such a high rating. My wife liked the sushi but that was the only thing worth the money. The general tso chicken was squishy on the outside but hard in the middle. The sweet and sour chicken taste like burnt oil. Rice and noodles were hard and bland. House specialty chicken was undercooked. The steak was so bad it disintegrated in my mouth. Its dark and gloomy in there. They have crab legs on the buffet but beware if you make yourself a plate the add an extra 25 dollars on top of the regular meal price. The waitress tryed to take my childs plate before she was done eating. I mean she had just barely saylt down. Like she was rushing us to leave. If your reading this and have a hankering for some chinese food KEEP GOING go somewhere else. I will not go back there and i will tell everyone i can to save your money when it comes to this place.

I have been here multiple times. Good food, good service from employees. They keep the tables cleared, refill drinks without asking, the kitchen staff keep the buffet stocked. It is nice to see a raw bar, sushi bar and they still have plenty of other food. The only thing I disliked was the ice cream freezer. It was gross. My daughter had wanted some vanilla ice cream. So it is self serve, not a problem. However the ice cream scoop was in this nasty water container with running water. The how many people before us dropped whatever type of ice cream into the vanilla. The ice cream itself was hard to scoop out. My daughter after seeing all the different dropped ice cream in the vanilla and what I was able to scoop out said no thanks that is gross. There wasnt an area of that vanilla ice cream that didnt have some other dropped ice cream.

I asked the cashier at Goodwill where is a good Chinese Buffet & she replied along with 2 other customers Mikata Buffet. They raved about it and they were right. I loved their soup and they had lots of delicious Oysters and refilled with a huge fresh tray quickly. Shrimp cocktail were pretty large. Sushi was good, the black bean balls were fresh and so good. Lots of variety. I didnt have room for much of the other items but I will definitely be back to try. There were so many choices for deserts and lots of fresh fruit. I dont go up to Jensen Beach often, but now I will have to make more trips just to enjoy a buffet here. Service was excellent. I had to tip more because waitress & waiter deserved it. Definitely worth the money. Hidden gem.

This place is not worth your money my family just wasted $80 and I was a hungry black man after a long day at work I thought it would be a nice place to eat because I was riding thru Jensen Beach but I was blind sided with the $25.99 price for crab legs and was unaware of the extra charge until I got my plate of crab legs and was approach by my waitess while I was about to eat some and he spoke in a very heavy accent its a 25.99 charge for crab legs and I told him the host that sat us down didnt tell us about the extra charge and he took my plate dont waste your hard working money on this place very dim lighting also.I will never come again nor recommend this place

Worst chinese food Ive ever had (if you can even call it chinese). The sushi along with all the other seafood was definitely not fresh. The only good thing about this place is that they do not let your drink get anywhere near empty. The plates were no where near sanitary as I found some large brown thing stuck to the bottom of a plate (pretty sure it was once part of a cat). I was also ripped off in that I was overcharged for my meal. But if you still decide to go there after reading this, just steer clear from the pudding! I repeat do NOT eat the pudding!!
