I have been here several times, enough to form an educated opinion about the place. I ate here for lunch today. The decor is nice, a few friendly employees. The guys behind the counter making sushi clearly think they are some ancient Japanese craftsmen or something. I asked them for some white rice and they told me to go find my waitress. (get over yourself, you work at a Japanese buffet in Davie Florida!). It was the lunch rush (12:00) and they hardly had any food out on their buffet. The food they did have was not very fresh. I have been here about 5-6 times and every once in a while you will get a good experience but its hit or miss. But $16.00 for one person + tipping the waitress is not worth what they have to offer. Its great if your going for sushi, but if you are just looking to eat the buffet items, theres not a lot of choices. They do have a Hibachi chef there cooking fresh food which I never tried, but the line to get to him is always 4-5 people deep.

I have eaten here several times, both for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is exceptionally clean and the food is always fresh. During lunch hours you will not get spareribs and crab legs which I was disappointed about so Id never do lunch again but the selection of sushi, sashimi, Chinese and Japanese selections are still great. They have an extensive salad bar, desserts including ice cream and fresh fruit. I could eat there once a week if it was closed to me but a special trip is worth it. I am a city girl from Manhattan so I know good food and there isnt much of that around to really rave about in Japanese and Chinese food. They make money on me because I dont have a tremendous appetite but the price is so reasonable who cares.

They have 3 sections to the buffet (sushi, Chinese, desert) as well as a Hibachi station. It was my first time eating hibachi and it was fabulous. The sushi was fresh and absolutely delicious. The crazy tuna roll was by far a winner for me. I am from Ottawa and I only eat at one place in my home city but if Shinju was here I would gladly go again. The butter fried potatoes in the Chinese section were incredible. And the price? $11.95 for lunch on weekdays is probably the best investment one could make for an all you can eat meal that tastes like a la carte style. Wish I tried it before my last day in FLL because I would have gone back many times!

I had low expectations when I came to Shinju, afterall . . . its a buffet of sushi. But I was blown away! Every piece of a roll, every piece of Sashimi, every tempura anything tasted just as if it were made expressly for me at a "regular" sushi restaurant. It was all SO fresh and SO tasty. Variety is huge and includes things Ive never seen anywhere else. I went for the first time one week ago, and I have already recommended it to quite a few friends and family members. Next time you want sushi, GO HERE. Even if you dont want buffet, its worth it. A good roll is 13 bucks at a restaurant anyway.

There were many families when I was there. What a busy place! But that’s also good because most of the food I saw didn’t have time to gel out and become stale. I stuck to the Sushi side and was surprised at the variety. Of course there were the typical rolls but there were a few unique ones (I had more fun than flavor from the “mini Octopus” ones—not chewy at all). And as with all buffets—if you’re seeking excellent quality, original flavors and texture then you won’t find it here BUT this seems to come the closest out of all the buffets I’ve been to. Pleasant surprise.

A bit pricey (especially during the dinner hours), but worth the money. The selection of food is relatively large, and the sushi quality is not what youd expect from an AYCE buffet. Lunch hours are more of a bargain, but the selection seems to be reduced a bit compared to the dinner offerings (no crab legs, for instance). The restaurant is larger than it seems from the outside, so even when busy there is rarely a wait for a party of 5 or less. Never tried a larger party, but have seen plenty of them there. Staff is friendly and helpful and very attentive.

Excelente toda la comida . El sushi delicioso, variado y fresco . En comparación con el precio de otros buffet , es un poco más de dinero , aunque se va a variar depende de que días y a que horas vayas , pero en definitiva consideró que vale la pena visitarlo .

Its hard to get bad service on a buffet but lets talk about the girls up front. I go there often and this past Saturday 2/23/13 the place was slammed and i think it was a full moon. everyone coming in wanted to fight the 2 girls at the desk. They would not let it happen. I mean some of the ( mostly women ) would come to the 2 front girls and blow them up... not these 2 they kept their cool and made the best out of a disaster. I mean this place had people lined out way out on the side walk............way to go girls.

I always love coming here. Lunch is fun, delicious, and there is a nice variety of foods. For a buffet, the food is of fairly good quality especially the sushi. I only come here for lunch because dinner is quite expensive. Hidden of the restaurant is a hibachi grill. But, whenever I remember its there I already had five plates. What I like most about this place is that they serve delicious boba tea. If you like buffets, then you need to come here. Definitely try the boba tea.

Overall, the place is a mediocre sushi buffet at its best. I personally dont prefer to consume sushi in a "buffet" like environment, simply because I feel it degrades any possibly quality the sushi might have. That being said, for a buffet, I was impressed. That being said, there are many other, better, sushi alternatives out there in south Florida. I would probably only come here again if it wasnt my decision for a rendezvous.

Its been shut down numerous times in the past and I can see why. The quality of the food is hardly worth the stomach ache you are going to get after eating here. If they served pieces of Tupperware instead of fish, i doubt many people would notice there had been a change at all. Its a shame because I love their Boca location and their pines location. I suppose this is just the brother that no one likes to talk about.
