A few years ago I was brought here by my dad and by god it was an amazing experience. However, I just went today with the family for Fathers day. Well it was such a disappointment. The place was falling appart, the paint was falling off. Then there was the menu, which was all disorganized and old. The place was dusty and dirty, the walls had stains on them, the bathrooms where clogged with used toilet paper, the sink was pink from all the fungus it had, and last but least the room felt like it was dead, the atmosphere felt as if the people who went there had lost all hopes in life, IT WAS DEPRESSING. The pictures of the food looked as if they was taken ages ago by the first Photographic machine. Yet, that was not the real problem. After I ordered what appeared to be Churrasco (Spanish name), brown rice, and smashed and fried platain or tostones. I asked the waiter to please tell the cook I wanted the meat cooked medium well. When I got the food, the meat was burnt black and way over cooked and it felt like it had been cooked hours ago and reheated. Then there was the Tostones which were obviously submerged in old oil and fried there. I asked the waiter which by the way was dressed as if she worked over night at a strip club, not to judge personally but the way she was dressed wasnt appropriate for a family restaurant where there are kids present. Once she came back with a new plate I tried the meat and it was a lot better. However, the tostones which I love where cold and greasy again, where as they should be crunchy and hot. This time I called a man who appeared to be either the owner or the manager of the place and he saw me calling him and he just ignored me and asked the waiter who was in the kitchen to go and see what I wanted which was completely rude and unprofessional. Eventually he came over to our table and I told him what was going on in hopes of him doing something about it and just as he opened his mouth the stench of alcohol that came out of his mouth was so strong I instantly knew he was more than half way drunk. He couldnt speak straight all he did was stutter and touch me in my shoulder as if we knew each other. After he managed to get a few sentences out, he headed to the kitchen and as I followed him with my eyes, I quickly noticed something moving on the floor. It was a Bloody COCKROACH, it was huge and i was coming from the damn kitchen. I felt so sick that I immediately called him back and asked for the check after I told him the disgusting time I had at his restaurant. Guess what his excuse was... "Weve had a long day and the AC isnt working right." THATS NOT MY PROBLEM OR ANYBODYS BUT HIS OWN. I kept insisting for my check and this bastard just told me plain and simple "Just leave." THIS PLACE I ALREADY SUBMITTED TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY AND I HOPE FOR ITS IMMEDIATE SHUT DOWN. THIS PLACE IS NOT FIT TO SERVE FOOD OR ANYTHING ELSE FOR THAT MATTER. I once loved coming here, now ill definitely will never come back.

What a freaking dump!!! Frankly, I dont know where to begin: the restaurant was dingy and had a musty smell; some of the pictures on the walls were hung with scotch tape; both bathrooms were dirty and smelly and not well stocked. Our waitress, Colleen, whos been working there for 32 years (God bless her soul), brought us their schizophrenic menu with a list of Cuban, Mexican, Peruvian, and BBQ dishes, and a handy broken plastic basket for our bones. The bread was stale, and the ice in our water glasses looked like it had been broken off the ice maker wall. Some of our glasses were greasy. Even though there was no one in the restaurant at 1245PM, it took twenty minutes for our food to arrive. The pico de gallo (fresh salsa) my wife ordered was sour, she sent it back, and they brought her a fresh one when she was almost finished eating. The lemon slices had brown spots and tasted rotten. The ribs and chicken were cold and tasted old, like they had been laying around for days and were heated and brushed with sauce at the last minute. Speaking of sauce, three different types of sauces on the table and none of them tasted like traditional BBQ sauce. They tasted more like duck sauce than anything else. The moros (black beans & rice) also did not taste fresh. The tostones (twice fried green plantains) were soft and soggy. At 205PM my wife got stomach cramps and had to go to the bathroom. Just an overall horrible eating experience. We would not recommend this place to a soul, unless they wanted to commit suicide by BBQ.

We have been going to the hitching post for years!! Today after ordering three meals, it was awful!!! We ordered 2 cheeseburgers, the lady came back and said, two hamburgers, we said no, 2 cheeseburgers. She brought 2 hamburgers, she took them back and brought the burgers with cold cheese on top. The burgers had no taste whatsoever!!! PLain bread and the burger!!!! Sloppy salad on the side which did not look fresh AT ALL!!!! My friend ordered ribs, I had a little piece and it was ok, but dry. The hitching post has obviously gone Way down hill, which is why it was totally empty!! We will NEVER go there again.. The waitress never came back to ask if we needed refills on our cans of sodas, or to see if wee needed anything at all, ketchup bottles were empty, my daughter actually went to 2 tables and they were pretty empty as well,.. Very sad what has happened 2 one of the coolest bbq places ever!!!! (

I live in Hialeah so I have nothing against Cubans but wow have they turned this place into "chusmeria". The food was bad. My morro was heated up in the microwave and so were my maduros. The ribs were ok but thats it. Theres a random bar on the side of the restaurant with a girl in a little sports bra and skin tight yoga pants showing off a tramp stamp. The best part is the loud music outside and the loud music inside, and its not even the same music -_- I think it shouldnt have changed its American style food.

The food was purchased to be eaten by my family. When i opened the container for the chicken i was hit by the scent of roach spray. I thought it was my imagination so i plated the chicken and as i was scooping out the beans to plate them, lo and behold i find a dead roach. I threw that food away so fast. Waste of money. $50+ spent on roach spray filled chicken and beans with a roach. NEVER eating there again. Disgusting.

My fiancé and I had very little time to dine in; we requested our food to go but mentioned to the attendant that we will spend 15 minutes eating at one of the tables. The restaurant had 2 guests inside; Pretty empty. She told us if we take our food to go we could not eat inside. She also charged me a 8% sales tax when I made clear Miami-dare sales tax is 7%. Ridiculous...

I just ordered food to go in this restaurant...It was good but overall not satisfied! It was not was I was expecting...if you order for more than two or three people...make sure youre not very hungry, otherwise you will be unhappy with the small amounts they serve. Not a happy customer, & not good customer service skills either!!
