One the local areas best kept secrets. Dont be fooled by Vans post. The food is authentic chinese bbq and top notch. Its like they, say the small hole in the wall places always serve the best food. It is always full and you have to get there early to get the freshest food, otherwise it will go fast. T Van probably got there after the rush and you will see people wait for the next fresh batch to come out. I have chinese friends with very refined taste and will not eat it if its not authentic. Trust me when I tell you that they go there frequently. The business gets clientele who are people from all of south east asia and when the business closes to go on vacation they will do it for a month or two from all the clients they get. They serve quite a good number of non asians as well. Good food with cheaper competitive prices. The place isnt pleasing to the eye like a restaurant, but the food matches the quality of one. I think the size adds to charm to the place really.

The restaurant only says Chinese BBQ on the sign outside. About noon, crowded with only Asian patrons. The nice lady at the counter guided me through the authentic chinese delicacies that they had to offer. After I decided on the honey roasted pork, she gave me the choice of a lean or fatty piece of meat. I of course opted for the latter. They grabbed the big piece of juicy hanging meat and sliced it right there for me when I ordered. The pork was served in a big styrofoam container over white rice, with some cabbage on the side. It was served with a side of hoisin. Flavors and textures were amazing. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. Food was not at proper temperatures though. Definitely recommend.

Gou Lou Cheong is as good as any Chinese barbecue Ive eaten in New York or Toronto. There isnt really any restaurant seating; business is cash and carryout. The honey glazed pork is excellent; you can order fat or lean-trimmed. The duck, soy sauce chicken and crispy pork are also delicious. I always get the duck hearts and gizzards when available, as this makes a great addition to soups for lunch, or just for nibbling on. Other more exotic meats (tongue, squid, duck feet, tripe, etc.) are available. Buns and dumplings are made at other local shops; these are also worthwhile.

In a non-descript shopping center is the unofficisl "asia town" of Tamarac. Those in the know wont go to the north end of the shopping center with the asian crocery store, bakery, and restaurant. They will go to the south end where a simple sign that says "Chinese BBQ" is the only announcement of some of the best meats around. The honey roasted pork is phenomenal in its fatty juicy tender meat, and dipping it in the thick syrupy sauce elevates it to another level. The whole roasted duck is juicy and flavorful. Love this hidden gem!

The best Chinese BBQ Ive ever had. My wife is pickier than anyone I know and its her new favorite spot. I live an hour away and would gladly go there just for their roast pork! Their duck is the best and Ive eaten plenty on roast duck in my time.

This kitchen is a hole is the worst barbeque place in ft lauderdale area. their crispy roast port smell bad. They sell the cheap parts and save the good parts for their friends. Their roast duck taste like boiled chicken.
