cool place, came in between happy hour and night life, was told it gets popping in a few hours. I tabbed out and told them ill be back(manager,manager friend and bar tender) all right there. Everything was great. I returned about two hours later in the same clothes i had left as i just went to one other place in the meantime. walked up to find a door guy that told me i couldnt come in. He claimed that my sleeveless jersey was the issue, odd no one even remotely mentioned a dress code when they all said i should come back.

This is a really good place to eat lunch or dinner. The menu is not your typical bar food menu, everything is made fresh and their kitchen is one of the cleanest kitchens I have ever seen. The staff is friendly starting with the owner, Kevin, to the manager Perry, to the chef and bar and wait staff. If you are in downtown Fort Myers, dont just go the regular places, try City Tavern you will be impressed, and they have a great selection of beer on tap.

The service was excellent, and the bartender was super accommodating. Gave me the beer I ordered and a shot of something local to try out (which I ordered a glass of as well. Lol). I ordered the Myers Roasted Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious; The weirdest looking bread I ever saw, but it tasted good. The negative was that once the live band started playing, it was almost impossible to talk without screaming. Left with a hoarse voice.

Other than the guy who owns the place this little gem is an amazing find! With drink specials that make you feel like you are back in college and service that makes you feel like you are at The Ritz. City Tavern is definite must for us when we are in town! We are jealous of the locals since they get to experience this awesome venue 7 days a week! Oh and if the owner actually reads these... I was just kidding it was great to meet you :-)

City Tavern is must-go place for drink specials, decent live music that plays acceptably trendy and classic songs, and friendly service. Words of Wisdom: This is the perfect place to take your girlfriend if she is insecure, due to the fact that a great deal of the other females that frequent City Taverns warm, midwestern atmosphere will typically have biceps the size of her thighs an will inadvertently cause her to feel dainty.

Stopped by there after 2 hours of practice on a driving range, where it was hot. So I was thirsty. Had a nice table outside. Bar tender explained what they have to offer and suggested the cider. We tried it. It was good. Service was fast, she smiled a lot and was thankful for her tip. Price for the cider was I think a little high. But hey, we are in downtown Ft. M and it was worth it. If in the area, I will be back for sure.

I didnt get her name but I have to give a shout out and big thank you to the very nice girl at City Tavern that took care of and shipped my tablet computer all the way home to me in Columbus, OH after I mindlessly left it on the table last month! I was in Fort Myers for a quick visit and stayed close to downtown. City Tavern turned out to be my favorite place! Ill be back someday!

This is by far my favorite bar in downtown Ft. Myers. Its a locals favorite too. They support live music, have great deals on drinks, great food, pool tables, friendly staff, its a no brainer. The owners also helped me throw a benefit for a sick friend of mine last year, they went out of there way to make sure it was a success and asked for nothing in return. This place rocks.

As a traveling entertainer, Ive seen em all from the west coast to the east coast. I bumped into this bar on accident and what a surprise this was. Its one of those places you look at and say, "damn, I wish we had one of these back home". The drink specials are sick and the staff is awesome! Fun had by all! Service seems hit or miss, depending on how much you look like you "can tip". Be ready to convince your server that youre cool enough to serve. Trust me, Im not very cool at all and our server want friendly until my wife (who is cool) chatted them up a bit (lol). I / we wont be back though.

Amanda was our waitress and she was so pleasant! I went with my mom and husband, and we were all very impressed with the food we ordered! They have extremely fresh ingredients and their flatbreads were to die for, packed with flavor! Definitely check this place out! Well be back!

I visited this bar and provided the bar tender with a $50 and received $15 back after a $7 drink. The bar tender insisted that I only gave him a $20. I would avoid this tourist trap at all costs and if visiting City Tavern, PAY WITH CREDIT CARD!!!!!!

Love City Tavern!!! Great place to hang out, grab a few cold beers, place some pool, and watch local bands. Kevin and Dicky are awesome making service amazing! Crowd is a lot of fun too so if you are in Ft Myers you have to check this joint out!

City tavern has amazing food for the bar the are down town. You can go here get a full meal and some of the best drinks you have ever had. You dont have to eat, you dont have to drink but which ever you decide to it will be a good choice!

Dude. This bar is so awesome that I almost crapped my pants as soon as I walked in! All kidding aside, best happy hour on a friday downtown, no question. great place to grab a drink and people watch.

Even though they dont serve food during the week, we still stayed for a shot... Heather the Bartender was so nice & was very helpful in finding another good food place. Nice lil upscale dive bar :)

7 dollars for Guinness and 8 dollars for a Southern Tier 2xIPA. Prices are double what they should be, which is obnoxious for a bar that smells like piss and bleach. Avoid.
