This place is an absolute DUMP!!!! Overpriced crap served on a plate. Everyone is better off going to a soup kitchen and eating better quality food that what this place serves. Homeless starving people would not eat this food. The restaurant is run down, dirty, discussing, the food was like nothing I have ever seen and the service was as if no one wanted to work there. There were flies everywhere and landing on the drinking cups and bowls that they were serving people in. I ordered the gator tail, Backed stuffed fish – w/ there would famous fish with crabmeat stuffing, and backed stuffed shrimp – with crabmeat stuffing. Our sides were the same, spicy shrimp gumbo and Caesar salad. $46.00 for two people – over prices $$$$ I am born and raised in Florida and know good gator tail and seafood. The gator tail was just over cooked batter with no special sauce and a very small portion. Both entrees were drowning in a pool of butter/oil that had to be drained from the plates (1/2 c on each plate) the fish tasted like it was thawed in a 5 gallon bucket with water and had a weird detergent taste to it. The “world famous fish with crabmeat” needs to remove forever from their menu, b/c there was NO hint, taste, or piece of crabmeat to be found anywhere. I have been to restaurants’ that have “skimped” on the crabmeat, but this place doesn’t even include it. It was plain old unseasoned disgustingly soggy stuffing. Was the stuffed shrimp and better – NO!!!! I was $14.00 for 6 pieces of butterfly, rubbery shrimp (medium to small size) topped with 3 ice cream scoops of that discussing stuffing with NO CRABMEAT to be found. The spicy “shrimp” gumbo was missing the “shrimp and didn’t even taste like there was any seafood. The soup reminded me of leftovers from Monday’s night special and it was Wednesday. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! Save your money and go somewhere else!!!!

BAD EXPERIENCE ! Had bee there on a couple occasions last year and it was good. Stopped in today with friends for dinner and after ordering our drinks we found out the place is under new management. The place wasnt busy at all. Drinks come and waitress mentions the restaurant is out of straws for our drinks.The window sill at our table had cob webs and a large bread crumb and dead insects. Flies kept landing all around us while we sat there. When our food was brought out some of us did not get the sides we had ordered. Then we found a hair on the food and a hair on the beverage glass. The waitress never came back to check if everything was ok. Finally had enough and asked to see the manager. Waitress returned and said manager could not be found, even his car wasnt in the parking lot (probably went to have dinner elsewhere). Bartender came over and said she was acting manager. Complained about the issues we encountered and no apology was offered but did take 10% off our bill. Worst experience ever and dont plan ever to return.

Took our boat out with friends on Lake Eustis and researched where we could stop to eat. It was a Saturday so I expected more people on the lake and at Gators. Neither was the case. Plenty of dock space to park the boat. No signage from the lake so phone GPS gave us general marker. We sat outside.As with other comments one waitress covered all the tables. Took 5 plus minutes to get her to take our drink order. Then another 5 plus minutes to bring 2 beers, 1 soda and 2 lemonades. Moving on we placed food order...to the waitress who didnt write down the order. No fear, it came out correctly 20 minutes later. Two burgers, catfish platter and turkey wrap. All reported food was good. Fries were really salty and a bit "flimsy". Hey, live entertainment with a guy playing guitar and signing. While he was good, it was too loud and made having a conversation almost impossible. Overall, 3 star experience and Id go here again if we were looking for food while out on Lake Eustis.

Very sad because I have been here a couple times before for drinks only and it was fine. Thats why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. This was my first experience in the dining room. Beer was not cold, served in a plastic mug. Extremely slow service. Waited 30 minutes for a burger and peel and eat shrimp. When she (our waitress) finally brought our food, she made a comment that "it was just sitting in the window!" (Ummm.... isnt that your job, to keep an eye out for your orders, in the window?) The shrimp was complete mush and unconsumable. After our food was delivered, that was the last time we saw our waitress until we asked someone else for the bill. From then on another server took initiative to check on us, took the shrimp off our bill. There was however an app on our bill that we didnt order, which my boyfriend would have paid for if I wasnt such a stickler, and grabbed the bill to look over. We saw every table around us complaining as well...

I was very disappointed with my experience. The restaurant was dirty and run down. The hostess told me to sit anywhere, and I couldnt find a clean table and sat at an unbussed table. It took over 20 minutes for a server to greet me, take a drink order and clear off the table. It took over an hour for my friend and I to get our food; a salad and a burger. The food was mediocre at best. I likely will not be returning to this restaurant, unless someone was dragging me there. Even if I go back, I will not be ordering food. I would highly discourage someone from eating at The Crazy Gator.

The food is decent and the beer is cheap, but the service is absolutely horrendous! We often sit on the patio as we had kinda of become regulars, and time and time again, we felt forgotten about. We work too hard for our money to be treated like this time and again, so that being said, I will not be spending my hard earned money at this establishment any longer..i hope your experience is better than mine. Perhaps the owners will care enough about these sincere reviews and get to the root of the problem before too many people decide to spend their money elsewhere.

Ive lived in the area for years wondering if the food was good. The french fries were very good...hot and seasoned, but the chicken was like rubber. The place smelled and was rather dirty. We sat for the longest time...alone... watching the water. Great view...but terrible service! My daughter couldnt eat her chicken sandwich, but I was determined to eat mine. I managed to cut it with a knife and chew, chew, chew. I brought the left overs home and my cat wouldnt touch it! BEWARE~~~eat somewhere else.

Stopped in here on our way home from a camping trip with our three kids. Horrible decision! We sat for 10 minutes and had to go get a bartender to ask for a server. Another 10 minutes later they took our drink order. After we ordered our food it was another 45 minutes before it came out and it was AWFUL!! Chicken tenders and ribs were rubbery and the Philly cheese steak tasted like bland shoe leather. Will never go back or recommend to anyone!!
