Its in the plaza with Save-A-Lot, Dollar General and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore...so we were kinda leery, but... ...This was a really good Mexican restaurant, compared the others weve tried in the area. The shredded beef tacos were savory and delicious. The salsa was full of cilantro and flavor. Service was friendly and attentive. Were a family of six, and within two minutes of walking in the door, theyd pulled two tables together and rearranged chairs, without us asking. The queso dip was fairly bland. Ill disclaim by saying that most of the Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants weve tried around Tampa and Sarasota have been somewhere on the spectrum of "just okay." Nothing in the area has really been good enough to become a go-to Mexican restaurant. Mi Pueblo was on the high end of that spectrum, though, and the shredded beef was truly good.

I have never had such a horrible experience in all my life. The food and atmosphere was good, however service ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC. We were with a group of people and rather then split the bill paid half cash and half on my credit card. The waitress ran the credit card for the full amount which I didnt realize until I got home and checked my bank. When I called to explain what had happened I was made out to be a liar and nothing was done. I have never received such poor customer service! Isnt the customer always right?!Hope the waitress enjoyed her very very large tip because it is the absolute last time we will be going. Who wants to be accused of being a liar on a night out with friends!

Great place for an overflowing plate of delicious Mexican-American food. The restaurant is cozy and very well decorated. The hanging lanterns and adobe colored walls make it feel very authentic. It can be busy during the season and sometimes there is a wait but its usually worth it. I love their fresh salsa and their burritos are amazing. Definitely more than you can eat in one sitting. The manager is super nice and always welcomes us, asks us how our meal was, etc. All and all this is a great place to eat for fast & friendly service and good food!

I have been here a few times and every time it has been awesome. I love burritos and they sure can make one. It is filled with just the right amount of ground beef, beans and rice. We even ran into an issue where one of us ordered the wrong thing, and they quickly adapted to correct to what they really wanted. Very friendly staff. The place can be a tad dark and it was a little smoky, but overall still great. Probably one of the better SRQ mexican places!

DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. We believed the good reviews but were sorely disappointed.. Service was TERRIBLE.. I cant think of a word to say how bad it was but I did have time to type this review while we waited on our check. It took 20 mins to get seated, the server was more interested in flirting with the other employees than getting our order, and it took another 20 minutes to get our check. AND to top it off the food was TERRIBLE.

My family has been loyal visitors to Mi Pueblo since it opened on Bee Ridge Rd. The owners and staff have been very friendly and quick with service. For many years we ate there at least once a week. It was like dining with friends. Made friends with many of the other "regular" patrons. We have cut back to about once a month now and still enjoy our evenings there. The food is good, fast and the atmosphere is great!

For a family of four with 2 young kids, paying $51 (with tip) for the average-quality food this place serves is enough to make you angry. There were 3 servers working, yet only 3 tables occupied, but I still couldnt get a refill on my chips. The servers seemed much more interested in talking to each other and socializing than they did in serving the customers. The chicken and pork were dry and tasted pre-cooked.

Ive been eating there since I discovered it about 4 years ago. I enjoy the Mariachi music and am friends with band members. The food is always excellent, fresh chips and salsa, and usually great service. I usually go to the Bee Ridge location though I like the University Park site too. All the personnel are friendly and service is prompt. Prices are very attractive.

This place was great! I recently visited on a trip down to Sarasota - and everything was just great!! Food - Service - Nice atmosphere for such a cozy little place... our waiter was very helpful and actually made suggestions based on what we told him (that we liked), and everything turned out great! I will be back to enjoy the original Mi Pueblo...

Based on reviews, we opted to try this location in Sarasota. First off, not full bar service so no Margaritas the salsa and chips were sub standard, the rest of the dinner was a salt fest. The burrito and tacos were chewy, not tasty or flavorful at all. The atmosphere was ok, just thought it would match the reviews. Will not return or suggest it.

Mi Pueblo has been my favorite Mexican restaurant for quite some time. I recently visited the Beeridge location and I was, as always, very happy with my experience! I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing! I have tried many things on the menu and I have always been happy with my dish. I highly recommend this restaurant :)

Well, the food surely matches their target audience: White and bland. The food just wasnt hitting it for me. Very lacking and flavour. However! The staff were incredibly nice! Props to that. The restaurant itself is very tiny but the set up is cute. I just wish the food wasnt so flavorless.

I travel a bit and eat mexican all the time and i have to say this is some if the best mexican Ive had. Little on the expensive side, but I can justify it. Salsa isnt watered down and the fajitas are awesome.

Very good experience, nice staff, well decorated, good food, delicious taste, large menu with many choice to pick from. Margaritas not great. Reasonable prices, $105.00 for 5 adults and 2 children four drinks.

Very delicious and fresh food. Wait staff were really nice and prompt with their service. The only downside is the small size of the restaurant. Highly recommended if you enjoy good quality Mexican food

Mi Pueblo offers super-fast service, excellent tex-mex food, and very good margaritas. The live Mariachi on Tuesdays, though it sounds annoying, makes for a unique and reasonably-priced night out.

Tolerable Mexican food for Sarasota, although probably wouldnt survive in a place where Mexican or Tex-Mex cousine is more prevalent.
